Lung Ching Dragonwell

Green Tea by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Savor the tea of emperors. This delicate green tea is revered by the Chinese for its jade green color and unique shape. The only place in the world where Lung Ching Dragonwell tea is grown is in the West Lake district in Hangzhou, China. We make the tea the same way the Chinese have made it for centuries. The tea is meticulously prepared from tender leaves using a traditional handmade technique.

The product description says “traditional” and that’s exactly what you get with this tea. The coloring, if steeped correctly, is a perfect lime green. The aroma and taste have a dynamic grassy taste to it that further instills the classic nature of this tea. If you’re looking for flavor or anything full of flavor look elsewhere this Lung Ching is subtle and classy. Light body. Great for studying.

This is the only Dragonwell tea that I’ve ever tried, but I really enjoy it. It has a warm, sweet, kind of roasted aroma. The taste is really grassy with some bitterness as an aftertaste. There’s another taste in there, but I can’t decide how to describe it. It’s a little more woodsy than the normal sweetness of green tea.

I can’t wait to look more into Dragonwell teas and see what else to try. =)
