I found this to be rather foul-smelling and repugnant. the green-tea taste was barely there and it tasted like something had gone bad.
23 Tasting Notes
this has struck me as pretty meh-tastic. I don’t taste caramel at all. the strong notes are almond and cinnamon and I find the whole taste to be a little weird and not living up to all the hype that the employees at teavana kept playing up about it. I probably won’t be buying it again. might not even brew the rest of what I have. meh.
I liked that the steeping instructions on the box literally says to play some opera in the background. I played “the Diva dance” from the fifth element because that totally counts.
I like it. dark tea without the bitterness, nor an overwhelming taste of bergamot like so many earl grey teas have. very smooth and easy to drink. love it. will definitely try with some honey next time.
I steeped it to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit and steeped for 3 minutes rather than the 5 minutes recommended on the box and it tasted perfect for me. I would definitely drink this tea again. :)
I picked this up today with my 30% off starbucks discount :D
I’ve become a bigger fan of black teas over the past few months so I picked this one up. I brewed it at the recommended time and temp with a little german rock sugar.
the color was way lighter than any black tea I’ve ever had, looking closer to a green tea. the initial taste was very light and tasted more like a black tea/green tea mix than a dark black like I was expecting. it was very flowery and maybe a little hint of oat. I was a little disappointed as I was expecting a dark strong tasting black tea whereas all the flavors of this tea are all very subtle but I grew to enjoy it during the following cups.
this is my first experience with any sort of darjeeling. Overall I liked it but I will try experimenting with it more with different steep times or maybe icing it before deciding to try it again.
as an employee of the ’bux i will be the first to say we stock some lousy tea. The earl grey tea latte is actually okay if the teabag is steeped for no more than a minute as after that the bitterness sets in. though today I snuck in some EG from teavana and had them make me a latte out of that before my shift started and it was delicious as fuck.
I haven’t had a green tea in a long time. this one has renewed my appeal to green tea. it’s subtle in it’s grassy taste which is usually a turnoff in other brands. it goes down very smooth with an almost buttery taste though without a whole lot of aftertaste. I find this to be a very solid green tea that I would probably buy again.
It was okay at first but before I got halfway through it, it just started tasting like cough medicine. gross. the pomegranate just seemed too artificial
probably my favorite rooibos-based tea so far. tasty and sweet without being as shockingly sugary as soda or juice. makes me feel better on a cold night without keeping me awake. the blueberry flavor is in there definitely but without overwhelming the other tastes of the tea.
I like most forms of earl grey, but I found this one to be a bit too weird for my taste. I found the vanilla to be a strange combination with the bergamot. I would try it again but was not impressed initially.
I didn’t like this tea the first time I tried it with the recommended 200 degree water and 4-5 min steep time. I found it to be a little too oversteeped for my liking. I made it again now with a lower temp and shorter steep time but with more loose tea and I like it a lot better. the taste is stronger without that gross overcooked taste that comes with excess steeping. I added a bit of sugar too.

I tried this tea on a whim. I liked it a lot. it’s nice to find a black tea with spice that isn’t overwhelming like a lot of chais are.
a very solid earl grey tea. thought it was a little too earthy at first but I like it a lot more now. has become a staple for me in the morning. I like it with sugar but no milk. and it’s pretty cheap for teavana.
steeped about 3 minutes this tea is at it’s best. they’ve definitely improved it since last year. good combination of three different blends of tea.
though still not my favorite, it is a decent cup.

was kind of boring in my opinion. I prefer lighter teas and this one was just too light, I felt like I was simply drinking hot water. not at all bad tasting, but completely unremarkable. I would try again to make sure but my first impression was it being pretty meh-tastic.
I’ve always liked the smell of Earl Grey tea more than the taste. I am though a big fan of white teas. I felt that this Earl Grey tea really hit where I expected that Bergamot smelling tea to taste. not an especially heavy tasting tea and perfect for a cold evening. I don’t recommend drinking it on an empty stomach though.
ehh. not my favorite. a little earthy and bland
delicious. It took me many frustrating tries to get the combination down perfectly but now that I’ve got it I’ve had to brew a whole pot’s worth nearly every day since I’ve been drinking it like water.
This is my favorite tea. flavorful but not totally overwhelming or heavy like chai or black tea. what I prefer it on a particularly bad day.
I honestly preferred it before starbucks moved to full leaf. Personally now this tea tasted like someone emptied the full bag of a lawnmower and brewed it.

great tasting earl grey tea without the bitter taste to it. very smooth and comforting. also delicious iced. Very sad that Halcyon has closed, and would like to know where I can find more of this tea
