15817 Tasting Notes
*dexter*sent this one my way and i wanted to try it against the one from Han Xiang just for fun. Where the han xian one is cocoa, and sweet and malty and delicious…this one is slightly malty, less cocoay but the after taste is really nice. A little hint of astringency but that just adds to the tea rather than detracting from it. I think i refer the han xian one just a bit more though…as it’s tastes call out to me a little more! stlll a tasty cup though.

oh dexter. can we buy more please? when you get to being allowed to buy more? I pulled this one out randomly today because i always try to take time for at least one puerh when i work from home because even if it gets busy, i generally have time for a few steeps in between meetings. Today i christened my new pot that i picked up from the tea festival with this one. I’ve only had a couple steeps so far, so more to come if life doesn’t get busy..but i really love this. It’s rich. i have no other way to describe it.
it’s smooth…and deep…and rich…and just downright satisfying.

The lovely Angel sent this one my way so that i could try it out. I was excited by this one, since i have really enjoyed teavivre’s keemuns in the past and because i am running low on keemuns in my cupboard. this isn’t my favoutite keemun fro teavivre though it’s a really nice cup. It just doesn’t have those slightly almost smokey notes in it that i really enjoy from teavivre’s other keemuns. Ithis one has a smooth body with a tiny bit of malt, a little honey and just some nice tea. While this doesn’t scream keemun to me..it IS a nice tea and it could have a place in my cupboard as just a tea i drink heh
i pulled this one out this morning because it’s a near sipdown and because i wanted something a little more brisk today. As well, though it’s a sad thing, i also want to work through some of my straight butiki teas because of the massive influx of mandala and other straight teas that i have. My cupboard is a veritable mess of things. lol Still enjoying this one, but won’t cry when it’s all gone. :)
I’ve been a little busy and a little sick over the past few days. Received my mandala order yesterday so i’m back up to 157 teas with 2 orders inbound, a travelling tea box, 3 swaps and a box from terri lol. So until all that gets here, I can’t plan my attack for getting down to 50 by the end of the year. But i keep on sampling and sipping so life is good. Over the past few days i’ve had:
-laoshan black + cacao – verdant
-red queen cupcake – butiki
-zhu rong – verdant
-choco shou – camelia sinesis
-keemun – little red cup
- elderberry herbal – verdat
zheng shan xiao zhong of wu yi – yunnan sourcing
and today..today i try a few more samples while i organise my mandala incoming haha

I think? this was one that stacy included in my order that i didn’t outright buy….or i did…at this point it’s really hard to say lol So many late additions to my order that i wasn’t sure if i was coming or going. I know i waffled a bit on this one because while i love blueberry and puerh…i’m not crazy about champagne flavouring. However, now that i’ve had this one…it’s pretty tasty. The puerh adds a strength to the tea, making this a heavy, slightly smokey blueberry tea. I think? it’s the champagne that’s making this one a little funny to me, but not enough to dislike the brew. Looking forward to a few steeps of this one. Thanks Stacy!!

Seriously missB just pick up another 100g of this stuff. I’m having one last small cup of this before the rest gets put in the box for whatshesaid and it’s SO HARD to let go…. this is different than some of the other caramel teas that i love…but so yummy in it’s own unique way. I just love the crap out of this one. YUM!
nope. still not for me. Cavo sent this one my way and i kept it even though i realised i had tried it before. hoping that maybe in the year since i had it last, my view would have changed. It hasn’t. there is something odd about this flavour combination that just does not work for me. But now know REALLY know. thanks cavo!
