drank Qu Hao Silk by The Tea Spot

terri sent a bit more of this my way and i drank it today. Final verdict? It’s not the tea for me. there’s a bitterness to this that i don’t like even though the aroma is pleasant enough. oh well, just another one that i don’t need to keep on my list!

drank Blackberry Custard by Trail Lodge Tea

sipdown on this one! This is the last of the tes for this morning as i need to go out and run some errands…more to come when i get back though as i have a few things on my list i want to drink up today if time allows and i’m in the mood :) I am a fan of this one…it’s creamy and fruity. I think i need to give terri an excuse to pick up a few more from this company so i can try some more and maybe make a small purchase haha

Here’s her page:

Look around & see what you’d like to try. She still has more of the Blackberry Custard. I usually look for her at the farmer’s market, where I can buy small samples. Otherwise, the package is 2 or 4 oz. Most of her flavored teas have little candies in them, which grosses me out, so I haven’t tried a lot of them. But I did enjoy this one, & I still have plenty of the black raspberry, BTW. Let me know if you want some more of that. Here’s another local company: http://www.traveling-tea.com/
They are minutes from my house, so if you see anything in their list you want to try, I can get the smaller sizes.

Josie Jade

Terri, is this shop located in St. Louis?

Terri HarpLady

Josie, both of these are located here. I’m not sure where Trail Lodge is…the Fenton area I think. She has a booth at the various farmer’s markets around town. Traveling tea is literally 3 minutes from my house.

Josie Jade

Oh wow! I will have to remember these for the next time that I am in St. Louis. :)

drank Milky Oolong by T2
15847 tasting notes

another tea from Alice and i’m glad our sentiments are of the same mind. I am not overly a fan of green oolongs, but i continue to try them to see if there are any that will change my mind. I have tried a large number of milky oolongs, with Mandala being one of my favourites.
This though? it’s different from most milky oolongs. Alice’s notes indicate that it’s flavoured so I’m going to hazard a guess that’s why. all milky oolongs i’ve had previously were unflavoured. over all this isn’t bad, but there’s a little too much in the way of “green oolong” and not enough delicious creamy milky oolong for me to really get behind it. I’ll likely have another cup of this and share the rest with one of the tea girls who prefers green teas :)

alice

I quite like green oolongs too but this really wasn’t my cup of tea. Apparently it is one of T2’s most popular oolongs which I find kind of surprising.

this tea is growing on me. I am quite digging the smokey notes of this, though i do prefer it with a little maple syrup. It’s not in your face or imposing but it does have a smoothness to it that i like. I’ve got to get my butt in gear and get some running around done so this is doing the trick of waking me up!

Terri HarpLady

I really really liked this one, & I still have a little of it in my TOMCR box. I need to drink that!

Sil

i still have a bunch…i’m really behind in drinking all my reserve club teas

Terri HarpLady

I resemble that remark!
I’m trying to drink one a day, either from reserve or the classic, since I have both. I figure that way I can work my way through them, gradually. This one was actually one of my favorites.

thank you dexter for sharing this one with me. While this tea is on the sweet side, it’s also on the wimpy side. the flavours aren’t super strong, and there’s a bit of astringency to it that leaves my mouth a little dry. Not a bad tea, but there are for sure others that i’d prefer over this one most days.

Tonight, I am digging this one a little more than the. Orange cream. I’m still a fan of both over lemon chiffon though :)

drank Caramel by American Tea Room

Finally had this on its own instead of in milk. Yeah nope. It was much improved when I added a splash of toasted caramel liquor but not by much. Tis is for sure a milk type latte tea!

Fjellrev

Toasted caramel liqueur sounds wicked awesome. I think I saw Cavo posting about a gingerbread Kahlua the other day too. You ladies are making me want to make a trip to the liquor store. :p

Sil

I use that liquor for whiskey caramel milkshakes heh

ifjuly

This one disapppointed me too :(

Sil

Yeah, won’t be a re order for me but at least in latte form it’s alright

pyarkaaloo

Cup of this tonight with a little added puerh to make it more tea like. An improvement for sure but still nothing I love. Cold brewing the last of this to see how that works out :)

drank Assam Joonktollee by The Tea Centre

sipdown! (174) I had another cup of this today and it was pretty tasty. Less malty than a number of assam i’ve had with a mild bit of astringency. Over all a decent cup. Thanks for sharing Alice!

Another fun name!

Bio

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling as well!

Most of that is on hold these days though, including tea drinking like I used to as I have a new little one who eats up all my spare time.
