15767 Tasting Notes
SIPDOWN! of the secret tea that Stacy’s been working on lately. I actually did a cold brew of this one a few days ago and it was delicious. Tonight’s steeping is hot with the last of it. I’m looking forward to this one eventually being up on her website. It’s a fruity lighter tea that i quite enjoy,
SIpdown! and i’m not sure if i got this from kittenna or indigobloom either way this totally reminds me of tim horton’s peach drink. I’m not getting that oolong taste in this so i’m ok with it…since well, artificial peach drink is one of my guilty gross pleasures haha
SIPDOWN! thanks to indigobloom for a sample of this. I tossed this in my smoothie this morning, though i’ll be honest i also mixed it in with mocha and caramel. yes that’s right… mocha, caramel smoothie with a shot of espresso lol In terms of “coffee” type matchas, i think i prefer the coffee matcha to go with my smoothies, though this one isn’t bad. I believe this was robust flavouring, so with distinctive it might be toned down a bit as well. overall, not too shabby!
SIPDOWN! and that concludes that experiement apart from a bunch fo resteeps on the last little bit i have. Personally? and maybe it’s just the half of the bag that i had, this really didn’t taste much different form laoshan black. Sure there were bits of rice in it but otherwise it was just laoshan black and i hanging out. So yeah, good tea but disappointing as i hoped for something a little different.
Overall a pretty darn productive day. I managed to get my cupboard down to 281, I have two swaps going out the door tomorrow, I have a swap to package up for next weekend. Other half and i got 3 days to spend together; we cleaned the house, did laundry, watched some movies, spent time outside, went to a craft fair, made banana bread and stew, got to sleep in…did some work things, organized my tea cupboard and got ready for April. Might even have some semblance of a vacation planned to go visit montreal, quebec and ottawa in a month.
So i’m relaxing with a cup of this tonight while we watch a few shows. I still don’t see much difference between this one and strawberry pie but it’s still a tea i enjoy. Overall, a satisfying end to satisfying long weekend.
Edit: So i’m totally wired or something right now ‘cause i feel like i’m talking a mile a minute only i’m not talking, i’m typing and my other half it just looking at me like i’m nuts but mostly i just needed to say that i’m sorry walterbishop tea for ever comparing you to strawberry pie. you are so much more than that and ever so much more delicious. wheee!
Preparation
Thanks to whatshesaid for sending along a few of these tea bags for me to try. I have to say, i wasn’t expecting much when i dropped the tea bag into the liquid and it stayed mostly clear. :) However, after steeping it for a while, the liquid started to turn to a paler golden brown colour.
This is a fairly subtle tea – sweet and caramel like, though not overly intense in terms of flavouring. This will be a good afternoon tea for me to keep around the office, especially since it’s in bag form!
Thank you whatshesaid!
