From 52teas

Wow! This one turned out just the way I wanted it to! This tea is inspired by a Dole Whip, but – in tea form. Organic Chinese Sencha blended with lots of pineapple & some vanilla bean.

The result is absolutely YUMMY! It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergen-friendly!

organic ingredients: green tea, pineapple, vanilla bean & natural flavors

more about this tea: As I mentioned above, this turned out just the way I wanted it to: lots of sweet pineapple flavor, notes of creamy vanilla & a lovely, buttery green tea note. So delightful.

So good!

to brew: shake the pouch – those tiny vanilla beans like to shift to the bottom of the pouch! So give the pouch a shake, scoop out 3g of tea to 12oz of hot water (175°F) & steep for 2 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes (this one makes an absolutely amazing iced tea – so I highly recommend refrigerating until it’s chilled and serving it over ice — or cold brewing it!) Enjoy!

serving suggestion: as I’ve already mentioned, this is really good hot, but even better iced. I recommend cold-brewing (or even hot brewing it and then chilling it until it’s cold.) No sweetener necessary – but I did find that with a little bit of sugar it gave the cuppa a more ‘desserty’ treat taste to the tea. So it all depends on what you want from this tea.

Day 6 of the 52teas advent calendar. SO glad to see this in here – it sold out before I could pick some up before. This is absolutely fantastic. Easily my favorite so far. The pineapple is oh-so-slightly tart but leans sweet. The vanilla is creamy and smooth. The base is buttery perfection. I got two steeps out of it. Probably should have tried for a third but I was trying to squeeze in another caffeinated tea so I don’t fall too far behind on advents.

52teas 12 Teas of Christmas – Day 6

sniffs steam "Ahhh that’s good. sips It’s almost like that peach, peach kind, the pink tea (Celestial Seasonings’ Country Peach Passion). It’s really gasps hot. snickers and puts mug down

Very fruity. And hot. laughs I guess that’s hot tea for ya. It’s got a little vanilla in there maybe and some.. fruit… and it’s that pee-pee color again. I don’t mind the pee-pee — this cup of pee-pee. laughs The best pee-pee I ever had! laughs maniacally

It tastes like something, right? She makes these teas to taste like something. Like a cinnamon roll, right, like a tropical cinnamon roll. Or is it caramel apple. laughs I’m confused now and I don’t wanna say that cuz I don’t want it to stick. sniffs Pineapple, isn’t it?!?!? It’s pineapple isn’t it!?!?!? Pineapple upside-down cake, isn’t it? It’s pineapple upside-down caaAAaAAke!!! burps It’s pineapple. I got it. I definitely do. It’s pineapple! Ha! Haha! Ha. HA! Is it ambrosia salad?"

It’s called Pineapple Whip. Made in the likeness of Dole Whip, but I’m not certain what that is.

“Oh my god, I get it! They probably sell Dole Whip in Hawaii. I like it. It’s good. And I bet it would make a good iced tea, too. I’d say, uh, I give it a 9 because of its versatility. Pineapple Whip, eh? Everybody likes a whip sometime ;) "

I had no idea what a Dole Whip was prior to this tea, but drinking this blind, I couldn’t help but think pineapple-coconut-marshmallow fluff, or piña colada without the rum. It was so smooth with vibrant, joyful pineapple and soft creaminess. Awesome tea!

12 Teas of Christmas: Day 6

So good! I thought I’d reviewed this one when it came in my subscription box initially, but I guess not! I was surprised and delighted to see it turn up in the advent box. The pineapple is just so fresh and juicy, and it pairs so well with the creamy vanilla notes. A banger of a tea that’s delicious hot or cold.

I was so happy with how many votes this tea won during the poll. It was by far & away the biggest vote getter of all the teas that were on the poll, including black teas & Oolongs. That doesn’t happen – or at least, it’s never happened before. Usually, I get a very close race, but this time, this one HAD to be in the box. It made me smile!

52teas 12 Teas of Christmas 2023 – Day 6

A little bit of history on this tea: I first blended this tea some months ago (this year though) – and it sold out almost instantly. I am not sure that it sold out faster than any other tea, but it was definitely like – top 10 as far as speed at which it sold out.

I was a very happy mad tea artist. (Yes, I realize that sounds a bit of a contradictory term.)

Despite the rapid speed at which it sold out, I was still taken aback when this tea received the most votes of any tea in the poll this year. It definitely earned its way into the box this year.

It’s so good. Bright pineapple notes. The notes of vanilla soften the pineapple a bit. I love how it turned out. Thank you to all who voted to bring this tea back in the box this year!

Kaylee

It sold out before I could get it, so I was thrilled to see it here! It did not disappoint! I suspect that whatever amount you put up on Dec. 25 will also sell out quickly.

Kaylee: Actually, what I do is on December 26 – December 28, I accept orders (via email) from those who purchased the box. Then on December 28, I add it to the website. Since I don’t make a bunch of the tea beyond what I’ll need for the boxes, this enables those who bought the box to get an added benefit – they get first dibs on what’s left over!

Tiffany :)

Okay, now I feel bad I bought like eight tasters of it this summer (and am a subscriber) and definitely have not gotten to more than one. Good thing I didn’t request any in my advent calendar email.

@Kaylee remind me to send you one or two in our swap!

52Teas

@Tiffany – maybe I’m biased, but I don’t think you should feel bad about it – I like it when the teas sell out! :)

52teas 12 Teas of Christmas 2023 – Day 6

Enjoyed this one! I admit, I’ve never had a Dole Whip, but this reminded me a lot of pineapple sherbet, which I assume is similar. It doesn’t quite taste like actual pineapple to me, so more of a candy-like flavor. It’s not quite in gummy bear territory, but somewhere in between.

Very pleasant on the mellow, grassy green base. And always nice to see a pineapple tea with no coconut involved! :)

Adventageddon Day 18 – Tea 1/4

Every Adventageddon there’s at least one day where the majority of the day’s selections end up synced up to one very particular flavour. Today that day has arrived, and that special flavour is one I love so very much: pineapple!!

I deeply enjoyed (and needed) today’s burst of bright, tangy tropical flavours! In particular, this was my favourite of the day by quite a lot. It was rich and juicy tasting with fragrant fresh pineapple notes and a creamy, smooth finish. Definitely captures that Dole Whip flavour that it’s inspired by. It also went perfectly with the highly unique and somewhat savory pineapple ginger jam from the Bonne Maman advent which was, overall, made a wonderful addition to my funky tea and cheese pairing.

This is so good. I’m drinking it cold, and I love how creamy it tastes. The pineapple flavor balances the creaminess perfectly. It’s not tart, just fruity and light and delicious.
