Orange, choc or coffee… Which flavour did you get!?

Our limited edition Movie Night blend is perfect for cosy nights in as a guilt-free sweet treat. We think it’s the next blockbuster hit, action packed with our all-time favourites – orange, chocolate and coffee!

How we’re drinking it: Turn this sweet coffee treat into a hot choco-latte by topping a strong tea concentrate with a scoop of cacao powder, a spoonful of brown sugar and hot, foamy oat milk!

Ingredients
Rooibos, sri lanken black tea, cocoa shells, cocoa nibs, coffee beans, orange peel, safflower, natural flavouring.

Sipdown! (73 | 347)

Hmm, I don’t get this one.

The addition of the black tea is a bit weird to me, it doesn’t really contribute much flavor. Mostly I’m tasting the rooibos, along with the coffee flavor. Cacao… maybe a little? Definitely no orange. So it ends up tasting like a less yummy version of Fairytale of NY, because it lacks the sweetness and creaminess that one has.

Not terrible, but not something I would reorder. Hoping to restock on Fairytale of NY soon though, which is apparently now named Irish Cream.

I bought this during the sale for Christmas.  I’m a bit confused at the meaning of the name – I guess they just intend for this to be a tea to drink with movies?  But “rebels”?  I’m still confused.   It’s a tough one to have for movie night because there IS still caffeine in here with the black tea.  I really couldn’t tell with the flavor though – I would guess it was a rooibos base.  The black tea doesn’t come through at all, which is odd.  I would think the black tea flavor would be stronger than the rooibos.  Anyway, otherwise the additional flavors are interesting and balanced. After a mostly rooibos flavor, I taste mostly coffee from the three coffee beans in the infuser, along with a bit of cocoa from the cocoa shells and only a hint of orange.  I like cocoa or coffee teas, so I like it.  Will I drink it with movie night?  Probably not.   But I don’t regret buying it! The B&B sale is coming up in a couple days… I wonder what will be on sale…

Ha yeah I’ve been browsing the website today planning what extra teas I want to pick up beyond the sale items!

tea-sipper

Good idea… (which I really shouldn’t even think about doing haha)

tea-sipper

I just posted my review on B&B’s site and this was the reply from Neve at B&B to my review: “So pleased to hear you’re loving Movie Rebels as much as we do! They are inspired by a popular movie night snack, any idea what that may be? hehe!” So it IS inspired by a movie snack but I suspect it’s a highly British movie snack and I still have no idea what it is. :D

tea-sipper

oh snap, I just found out about ‘Revels’. Chocolate with different flavors inside, one is coffee. Never heard of them before! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revels_(confectionery)

This just tastes like stale watered down coffee. Not quite understanding the name related to the ingredients. Another tea going into the swap pile.

tea-sipper

Ouch. Almost had this one today. I suppose I have to try it sooner or later…

Shae

Has anyone found a coffee-flavored tea that doesn’t taste like watery coffee? I haven’t, but I know I’d love it if it was done well.

Shae

Also, sorry you had to drink this. Gross.

tea-sipper

I like when the coffee flavor is with puerh – so something like Bird & Blend’s Coffee Puerh or the blend from Davids (might be discontinued now). Actually I’m drinking Tealyra’s Java Espresso right now which is black tea/roasted yerba mate/ chocolate chips/cinnamon/coffee flavor… but that is gone now too.

Lexie Aleah

I quite liked Jet Black from August Uncommon.

amandastory516

Shae- I actually really like Affogatea from Bird & Blend and Cardamom Macchiato from DavidsTea.

Shae

Thanks, everyone! Going to look at each of these now. :D

Cameron B.

I really like B&B’s Fairytale of NY!

Shae

This is the one from Tealyra, tea-sipper? I couldn’t find it on Steepster, but this looks like the same flavors.

Adventaggedon Day 23 – Tea 2/6

I feel like there’s some sort of reference with the name/flavours of this tea, but it’s one that I’m just NOT understanding. How does chocolate/orange/coffee relate at all to the name “Movie Rebels” – you could argue that chocolate is a movie snack, I suppose, but that doesn’t track for the other two flavours… Someone explain it to me…

Confusion aside, it’s actually a pretty nice tea! The coffee is very similar to the coffee flavour in Fairytale of NY so if you enjoy that blend you’d possibly really enjoy this one. I think the coffee is the strongest note, but that’s possibly because it’s a flavour I don’t often love and so I think I perceive it especially strongly. Both orange and chocolate do come through in the taste though. There’s something pastry adjacent to me as well. Years back DT had a tea called Mocha Orange Biscotti and this is reminding me of that tea. I think I like this a bit better, though?

Bird & Blend Advent Day 23 (23-December 2020)

Yaaas, coffee beans! I have determined that I love coffee in tea, and I love B&B’s rooibos blends. So this is the both of best worlds!

Lexa made our tea this morning because I was up through the night sick, and she found me on the couch this morning. Bleh. But the tea is perfect!

The coffee bean is so nice, and I’m getting the orange mostly in the scent. The cacao nibs and shells I could see complimenting the coffee bean here. Overall, I really enjoy and I’ll be re-steeping the sachets for sure. I think I’d order Fairytale of NY ultimately because I don’t know that I need more than one coffee-tea and that was the first one I fell in love with.

Yum! I ordered this one, it sounded delish!

Courtney

Yay! I would totally order this one too.

Nichole/CuppaGeek

I wish I liked red rooibos. There are so many amazing sounding blends, including this one. I hope you feel better soon!

Courtney

Thanks Nichole! I actually do not like rooibos as a general rule haha! I have to say that B&B just hides it so well! If you have like the flavour profile, you may want to try out their Rhubarb & Custard. :)

Martin Bednář

I don’t recall seeing this on their website. That sounds like an interesting blend for sure!

VariaTEA

I was going to ask if you tried Fairytale of NY when I was reading the start of your note but then I saw you did. Also, sorry to hear you are not feeling well, especially since you are trying to power through some work before the holidays. Hope you’re feeling alright now.

Leafhopper

This sounds like an interesting tea! I hope you’re feeling better.

Courtney

Martin I think it can be found under their Limited Edition teas. :)

Thanks VariaTEA! Fairytale of NY I really do love, though I’d buy this one in a pinch if that one was sold out.

Leafhopper Thanks!

Martin Bednář

I found it, but I don’t think I will oreder anytime soon. We will see :) Thanks for note Courtney, it definitely seems interesting!

A very coffee-heavy tea, many other flavors were simply drowned out by it’s presence. Not bad tasting but I wouldn’t drink it again.

I only got a bag of this as a sampler, but I might try a lower temperature/shorter brew if I tried it again to lower the coffee flavor.
