You can certainly smell (and taste) the cinnamon, and the combination of flavours is…different. It’s powerful, and I feel almost like I need to try this again before I decide if I like it or not, because on my first go around it almost felt like there was just too much going on flavour-wise for me to pay attention to the richness or enjoyment of the tea. I thought there was some…mint involved somewhere— I find it a bit odd there isn’t.

It’s been positively ages since I’ve written any reviews and my cupboards are still stocked to overflowing with tea so I thought I might as well get back into it. Few things I like better than writing about tea anyway!

This, I think is the Chamomile tea for anyone who has ever decided they hate Chamomile tea. The supple mango and the light honey cloverish taste to the tea blends in nicely with the Chamomile and somewhat cuts the overpowering taste the flower has when it’s brewed by itself.

I had this tea with milk and a sugar cube because it seems to be, more or less, a must with this kind of a tea and adds to the overall icing feel that it’s going for.

This tea is hardcore. Honestly, it beats up other teas in back alleys and consumes their strength, adding it to its own. If you steep one of these bad boy teabags for a while, it’s almost like drinking a cup of coffee. It means series business and I love it.

I LOVE IT.

I picked up a box from a British import store when I was visiting my parents in Ontario over Easter, and I’m really considering making them send me more because this tea has become my best friend and confidant.

It’s a strong, standard black tea, and I was surprised that I liked it so much because I’m usually wary of teas that come in bags with an undetermined sitting-on-store-shelf time. But this was fresh tasting, with full, fresh, punch-in-the-face flavour.

If you drink one tea this summer, drink this one.

..This is a white tea? I examined the tea bag before I steeped and saw a whole lotta stuff in it, but nothing that struck me as looking like anything but Japanese green (it looks like cut grass). So maybe there was some sort of white tea ritual where they have workers wave small bushels of white over the tea as it’s being mixed? Sort of like a sage burning ceremony?

This tea might as well be herbal! Ugh! I’d rate it lower, but the taste is actually pretty good so I’ll cut it a little slack (but I’m not happy).

The tea tea would make excellent potpourri though, it smells very nice.

This is a strange one.

Whenever I rate Earl Grey teas, I’m always torn because I have a very clear idea of what an Earl Grey tea should be, and if a tea deviates from that too much, I have a difficult time rating it high because it isn’t what I asked for.

If I ask you to draw me a damn circle, draw a circle! I don’t care if you draw me the best triangle in the world—it isn’t a circle!

When I opened the bag, I was impressed! It certainly smelled like bergamot, so I was expecting a pretty traditional Earl Grey flavour which is exactly what I needed to make getting up in the morning a little easier…

…but this tea tastes like…flowers? I’m not sure what flowers, because it doesn’t have a distinct rose taste or anything, it just tastes like flowers! It’s…sort of nice…It’s a light, fresh tea that really is kind of wonderful…

BUT NOT WHAT I WANTED!

To this tea, I added a splash of lemon and a spoonful of sugar.

Brewed this with hot milk and water, steeped a bit longer than the recommended time.

Imagine you’ve gone skiing for the day. The air is crisp and cold, the snow falls all around you, and by the end of your skiing escapade, you feel like you’ve living in a snow globe, but are completely delighted by winter. You retire to your ski lodge, take off all your wet gear, and get ready to curl up on the sofa in your Irish wool sweater. But, before you do, you start a nice warm, roaring fire in the lodge’s old fireplace to warm yourself and get the feeling back in your cheeks.

This is what this tea tastes like. The smokeiness is lovely and rich, it isn’t stale and ‘ash’-like which is my problem with so many smoky teas. The spices and other flavours in the tea round it out to create a very unique flavour that warms your senses as well as your insides.

IT’S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.

One of the girls at the David’s tea near my house simply raves about this tea. It was her all time favorite, but at the limited edition holiday tea for 2009, I didn’t think I’d get the chance to ever try it. But! They brought it back!!

This tea actually glitters. The little gold balls in the tea dissolve, and actually make the tea shimmer! It’s the best!

As for taste—it’s a very simple cinnamon black, which I find just perfect for drinking on cold winter day. It warms one up like a cup of hot chocolate! It’s not overpoweringly cinnamon, and there are little silver sugar crystals in it so it doesn’t need to be sweetened at all.

I’m a big fan and plan to stock up before it disappears again!

This tea is magical.

LiberTEAS was my secret santa for Steepster’s Secret Santa exchange this year, so I received the most amazing present willed with all sorts of tea samples and blends! I just wish that I could stay home from work for a few weeks and lock myself in my bedroom with my kettle; not coming out until I’ve tried them all.

I started with this one! I this morning was a flavoured black morning and with a title like ‘Breakfast in Bed’ is was practically irresistible. And let me tell you something, dear readers, the tea is as irresistible as the name!

I’ve never had a rose tea quite like this before. The smell of the tea is mostly vanilla and the rose flavour is so delicate. I’m always a bit afraid that flower teas’ll end up tasting like I’m drinking hot perfume (with milk) but this was amazing! The rose and vanilla tastes completely compliment each other and the cinnamon is like a little cherry on top to complete the trifecta of awesomeness.

Made this tea with milk an sugar, as I normally do with breakfast blends.

Now, I’m a fan of Lord of the Rings and I did buy this tea because I thought it would be an adorable tea to own and something cute to offer my friends who also enjoy LotR. That being said, I wasn’t really expecting a lot from the tea itself, I just thought it would be fun!

This tea, however, is incredible! It smells divine, all spicy-and-citrus and has a very cinnamon-sweet taste that reminded me a little bit of milk after Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal has been in it. I recommend it highly! This is one of the best cinnamon flavoured teas I’ve had ever.

Good things come from the Shire.

I’ve had this tea a few times. I do like it in a latte, or tossed in a bag into a cup of hot chocolate because this minty black tea seems to want to be blended up with some chocolate. On it’s own, it’s a very nice flavoured black tea. The mint, as expected, is a bit overpowering as is the Chinese Black, but the other spices seem to balance out the the two tastes and blend them together nicely.

Still. I feel like this tea is missing something.

And that something is chocolate.

Or, perhaps I just associate the indulgence of chocolate with Christmas and thus want to add it to everything.

Similar to other DavidsTea blends like Opposites Attract and Read My Lips.

It is with disappointment that I write this review. Disappointment that my cup is empty because this tea was damned delicious! I am literally steeping more right now.

Anyone who’s read a few of my other reviews know that one of my favorite teas of all time. (Imagine that as said by Kanye West when he took the award from Taylor Swift: OF ALL TIME) is Cocoa Paradiso from David’s Tea ( http://steepster.com/teas/davids-tea/15181-cocoa-paradiso-organic ). Now, that is a seasonal tea, so know that that season is over, I was looking for an replacement to get me through my period of mourning. It was my hope that Coconut Cream Pie would be the next best thing.

I was wrong.

It’s better.

I did sweeten this, and have it as a latte because the smell of the tea alone said ‘Make me as creamy as possible.’ and the only thing stopping me from making whipped cream to throw on this was the fact that I was watching Die Hard. This tea is everything anyone who wants something rich and coconutty could ask for! It’s super delicious, full, and bursting with freshness.

What else I like about this tea is how dessert-like it is. Some coconut teas put me in mind of the tropics, and ought to be drunk iced through straws from brightly coloured luau cups, which is lovely on its own, but they don’t taste quite right when they’re warm and sipped on cold evenings like this tea is perfect for.

Because of when I placed an order with 52teas, there was a bit of a delay, and it took me a month to receive my order. But! Because of the delay, they sent me a bag of Apricot Fusion to make up for it and it more than does!

This is a lovely, fruity, flavourful tea that smells lovely and tastes even better. I’m always pleased when I fine a tea that needs no sugar or milk and this is certainly one of those teas. The ‘tea’ and the apricot flavours blend nicely together. One does not overpower the other and I’m really pleased with the combination of tastes.

Excellent tea, and I think it was lovely that the people of 52teas sent it to me because of the delay! I already placed a new order with them and I’m looking forward to it!

Delicious.

I’m really not a ‘tea bag’ person and buy loose tea whenever I can manage it, so I bought this loose as well and I used quite about 2 tsp of it when I made my cup. Mostly because I’m heading out into the cold (to go to the movie theatre for HARRY POTTER! YAY!) so I wanted something strong to hold me upright against the wind.

I love this tea. It’s my favorite from the Republic blends I’ve had. It’s strong, spicy, and moments after a sip I can still taste the flavour. I do like strong tasting teas, (for years I drank my coffee as strong, black, and angry as I could) because I hate watery pathetic flavourless dribble. I found this tea sensational and if I could smuggle a cup into the theatre with me tonight, I would.

Traditional chai taste, very full flavour, certainly peppery, and perfect with some milk and honey as per the suggestion. I’ll certainly have more of this in the future!

The problem, I find, with most chamomile blend teas is that they taste…like chamomile. Honestly, no matter how well blended the tea is or how many other flavours are packed in, generally the chamomile is all that really reaches you.

I didn’t have that problem with this tea. I had it hot, without any sweeteners (honestly, it doesn’t need them, it sweetens itself, it seems). There is plenty going on, with the orange peel, the licorice and…and the peppermint. The chamomile isn’t lost, but it actually seems blended well with the other flavours, not just masked, and it isn’t overpowering.

Word of warning: If you don’t care too much for licorice, this might be a tea you’d like to avoid. It doesn’t taste too much like licorice, but as others have commented, it does a bit of an aftertaste/affect associated with that flavour.

I had Pumpkin Chai today. It is absolutely one of my favorite tea’s from David’s Tea but because it’s seasonal I tend to be stingy with it and save it for only special occasions. This tea is spicy, flavourful and stands up to a good long steeping. Great with milk, or a dollop of whipped cream (When I make whipped cream, I don’t add sugar, just vanilla).

I don’t sweeten this tea, I don’t find that it needs it at all, but if you wanted it to taste even more like pumpkin pie than it already does, perhaps sugar might suit you.

Out of the fall tea collection, without a doubt this is the one I will miss the most even though it’s winter counterpart, Chili Chocolate Chai, is equally as delicious.

Steeped, and then iced. I’ve had this tea a couple times and wanted to try it cold because I thought, with the pistachios, it would be quite refreshing. This is a tea that seems to need to be sweetened (I use honey) just a touch, but I didn’t add milk. This tea does sort of remind me of a bubble tea that I had was, but I can’t quite remember what flavour it was…

I need to make iced tea more often!

You can really taste the chamomile! I find that the other flavours in this tea are a bit overpowered by it. There is a hint of rooibos, and a sweetness that I’m assuming is the caramelized banana, but for a tea with banana in the title, it’s a bit underwhelming.

It’s a very nice tisane, however, as a sweetened chamomile, and I did quite enjoy the cup I had. I just don’t feel it’s really a ‘banana’ tea!

Can’t believe I haven’t added a tasting note for this puppy, yet.

This is my favorite from David’s fall collection. I bought an extra 100 grams to stash away, knowing that this is a limited tea, and I only drink it now on special occasions to make it last. Anyone who wants to try Pu’erh tea but is a bit intimidated by the signature ‘earthy’ taste should consider giving this a whirl. It’s creamy, excellent with a dash of milk, and has an excellent coconut-chocolate taste that isn’t too much of one or the other. (what I mean by that, is that even a friend of mine who doesn’t usually like the taste of coconut enjoys this tea). The blend is, in my eyes, absolutely perfect and if there was a way to rate a tea higher than 100% I would!

David’s Tea! I am impressed.

I’ve tried three of their Holiday teas tonight, and each has been delicious and remarkable on its own merits. I wasn’t sure about ending the night with this, but now I’m glad I did! It’s perfectly sweet and cider-like. This was another tea that I loved to look at in the tin.

A bit like David’s Forever Nuts, with a nice apple-cinnamon edge to it.

This tea smells like Welch’s grape jelly!

This tea promises delicious grapey-ness, and I can definitely taste it. It has a nice grape aftertaste too it as well. The white tea’s flavours are so light that, of course, they’re a bit overpowered by the grapes and other ingredients, but not so much that you loose the tea taste entirely.

I love looking at white teas in the tin. I don’t know why, but something about the texture of the leaves is something that makes me happy.

(Random fact: While writing this, a Welch’s juice commercial came on A&E! I think it’s a sign?)
