I haven’t had this one for almost a whole year I think. I was out of stock and a bit reticent to buy again because it’s a bit expensive. I had to order this week so I thought I might take a 50g bag. I think I like it even more than I used to. Slight taste, very creamy and comforting smell.

drank Spiced Fig by DAVIDsTEA

I got this one as a free sample with a David’s tea order. It has this amazing smells so I couldn’t wait to drink it. To be honest, I was disappointed because I put the whole sample (5g) for my cup and the taste was so weak, I would’ve needed more. So I let it steep forever, until I finished it. At the end, the taste was more present and I can say it was like spicy molasses, which I liked. But still, I didn’t get what I wanted because of the too small quantity in the sample. I will wait to try again before I rate it.

drank Choconut Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

Hmmm? Why is this tea so unpopular?

I got it as a free sample with a David’s Tea order. It looked delicious so I immediately tried it. It has an awesome smell, just like a good hazelnut latte. The first sip was kinda weird, I’m not gonna lie. It doesn’t exactly tastes what its smell promises. I kept drinking it, trying to understand the tastes. I found out that the weird taste was probably coming from the cocoa husks, it indeed has an husk-y flavour. But then I found out a quick dark chocolate note and a sweet/addicting final. The more I was drinking, the more I could find the slight hazelnut taste. All of these associated combined in a rich and creamy tea, it’s not bad at all. At first I didn’t think I would buy again but now I kinda changed my mind; I would.

I ordered teas this weekend because of free shipping and I was kinda wondering if I should get this one. When you order, you have to take at least 50g of each kind so if you don’t like the tea, it’s kind of a big loss. I went for the no. Funny coincidence, a work colleague came with this today and offered me a cup. I couldn’t say no!

1st steep: Yummy, creamy and reminded me a little of cocomintcream, one of the 2012 December teas. The white chocolate brings the creamy and slight sweet side. I didn’t taste the pepper much, though. But I dunno, some people may think it’s enough present. I’m used to hot and spicy stuff so I may less notice.

2nd steep: Tasted like ordinary mint herbal tea, which is not bad because mint herbal tea is nice.

Verdict: I should have bought…maybe. I will soon, no worries! But last year’s cocomint cream was way better.

I don’t really know what to say about this tea. Oolong tea has a particular taste which is hard to describe for me. I could tell this tea reminds me of Bamboozled and Happy Kombucha (both from David’s tea collection). I believe you get what’s expected from this one: Oolong taste + exotic fruity taste.

Yummy. I’m in love with this one! It is so appropriate before going to bed and it’s a treat. I don’t think it is too much into orange taste though… I think it tastes more like bubble gum. Yeah. Bubble gum. I love it, boyfriend loves it, and I bet every kid in the world loves it.

drank Ceylon Star by DAVIDsTEA

The 2nd of my new David’s tea samples!
I never had the idea to try this tea before because, just like Rooibos de provence, it never catched my attention. It did yesterday because of the new Halloween gift box, which contains one tea I love – Organic stormy night – and which I was sure they didn’t have anymore in stores. So when I saw they had it – yay! – I gave a try to Ceylon star, because I would have if I would have bought the Halloween box.
First thing I noticed about it when I steeped it: its awesome white chocolate smell. It smells so good, I wanted to cup to stay on my desk forever. But I was a little afraid about the similarity with Chocolate cake tea, which smells awesome too, but doesn’t taste that good at all.
The taste of Ceylon star is creamy and the anise taste is not overpresent. I liked it, but I was a little disappointed because I would have liked to taste the coconut and chocolate more. Maybe I had to many tea leaves and not enough of the other ingredients in my cup? I will update the rating when I try it again!
Update
I tried it again and steeped it stronger. The white chocolate is more present – which I like a lot. I’m gonna give it a few more points because it was better this time.

Went again to David’s tea yesterday. I had to exchange a tea that had begin to smell suspicious 0_o Anyway… you don’t go to the tea shop without buying tea eh? So I picked new samples: Berry good puer’h, Pineapple oolong, Ceylon star and, of course, Rooibos de provence.
I never had the idea to buy that tea because it didn’t seem attracting to me. I like to try teas that catch my attention, this one wasn’t one of them. But well, I like to drink a rooibos or an herbal tea before I go to bed – I sometimes have sleeping issues and those helps – and I already have so many kinds. I wanted to try a new one, so I picked this one. Why not? It has fruits in it after all – may taste good.
Verdict: Yeah, not bad at all! It tasted a bit like golden raisins. I’m glad I decided to try it after all :)
Would I buy again? I may not run to the store when I’m out of it because it’s not special to me, but I could eventually restock in the future!

drank Coco-Lemon Thai by DAVIDsTEA

Oh oh.. One new favorite here! Love the coconut smell and taste with a little lemon and ginger :) What’s great with this one is that, when I’m done drinking it, I can resteep it, but in cold water this time. It’s very good too, except the taste of lemon is stronger than the 1st time. It makes a different tea and you can even steep it a 3rd time, in cold water again. A little expensive, but you get 2 excellent uses and a third one that is not bad.

To be honest, if you don’t like the taste of steeped cloves, don’t buy it at all because it’s a dominant taste in that tea. The apple is weaker. Overall, though, I found it very comforting. Grab a blanket on a cold night and there you go!

Hi, I’m a canadian woman in the late 20’s and I speak french so I’m sorry for the eventual misspellings!

I mostly drink teas from David’s tea collection because they are more accessible to me. They are also friendly and diversified. I’ve learned to like the taste of tea leaves. On my steepster blog, you used to only find ratings of flavoured, spicy, chocolatey, fruity or herbal teas :) In fact, I was only drinking herbal teas before I discover David’s tea because I didn’t really know anything about tea varieties.

I love trying new teas. When I buy new kinds, I always have a hard time deciding which one I will be trying first.

And here are my ratings:
100 = Cannot live without
90-99 = Excellent, I will NEED to buy again
75-89 = Very good, I would buy again, why not?
70-74 = Good, I would drink if I had some, but I wouldn’t mind not having some
50-69 = Disappointing but still drinkable
0-49 = Erm… No.
