I broke my favorite double wall glass infuser mug though. And wow, those things shatter like crazy!

I love that first one! How big is it?

It didn’t say but it looks to be about 8 ounces (I can measure it in the morning). Nicer than pictured too, and inexpensive!

So cute. How much was the shipping?

Love the wood grain cup! So pretty!!!

I tried a couple of teas from Vintage Teas at the coffee and tea festival last year, and they were both really good. As a bonus, the people who worked their booth were super friendly and knowledgeable.:)

The cup is almost 8 ounces. Shipping was pricey at $17.

Waaaaaah… T.T

I know. I had to think long on the order. :(

Got my order from Misty Peak Teas in the mail today. It consisted of 17 balls of Rolled Puer, their 2013 Autumn sheng cake, and a free sample of their 2012 Autumn sheng cake.

I should tell anyone interested in the 2013 Misty Peak Autumn Sheng that Mandala has it for ten bucks less with cheaper shipping. He gave me an extra teaball in the order which partially makes up for it but it annoys me that he charges more than Mandala for his tea. I will try his teas in the next few days and see how they are. I hope its not all hype because they were expensive even with his rolled puer balls on sale.

So…trying to be more active in this community, figured I’d start here.

One of the reasons I love tea is that I love getting packages in the mail. It always excites me when I get a new one. Recently, DavidsTEA had a sale and so I bought their chai collection and a small tin of another tea and that all came with samples. What I got:

In the Chai collection (http://www.davidstea.com/the-chai-collection?&TF=27F5948F6518&DEID=):

Organic Pure Chai
Organic Saigon Chai
Coco Chai Rooibos

The rest:

Main Squeeze (http://www.davidstea.com/main-squeeze?&TF=&DEID=)
Pumpkin Chai (http://www.davidstea.com/pumpkin-chai?&TF=&DEID=)
Organic Pure Vanilla (http://www.davidstea.com/organic-pure-vanilla?&TF=&DEID=)
Sweet Apple Cider (http://www.davidstea.com/sweet-apple-cider?&TF=&DEID=)

I got the chai collection because I needed more diverse teas for a pick me up tho now I feel silly because I forgot chai teas are generally made stove top with milk and sugar. I’m in a dorm…yeah.

Welcome! This is a great community.

Nice order! The chais sound delicious. Oh, and I almost never make my chais on the stove top. It’s to messy for my liking. :)

Thank you :)

Really? I’m happy to hear that, but I thought you did primarily because the only chai tea (which was amazing) I’ve had was made on the stove. It was Rishi’s vanilla mint chai, which once brewed smelled like peppermint and chocolate but tasted like warm vanilla mint. Really really good, one of my favorite teas.

You can get a similar effect by just brewing it with less water and then adding your creamer of choice after. :)

Oh, you definitely don’t HAVE to do the stovetop chai. We try anything around here, and I think many of us just steep chai in water then add milk or sugar if desired.

Oh cool. That’s what I already do with some of my black teas. Thanks :)

Got two tea orders this week. One from Mandala. My two cakes came: Wild Mountain Green 2011 and Silver Buds Raw 2012. Garret put in a couple of samples and I get to try the Big Snow Mountain 2013 (which I think is listed as Daxue Five Century 2013).
Also got my order from Green Terrace TEas. Took advantage of their 50% off sale and got a couple of oolongs, li shan black , & Bi Luo Chun. I got the oolongs in the little green containers. They are so cute! I notice on their website now they are not selling too many teas in the 50g size (which is what I got).

Oh! You got GREAT stuff from Mandala, those pu’erh are among my favourites, enjoy!!

Thanks TTF! I wanted to order the Big Snow Mountain cake too but hoping they stay in stock until the fall.

I am always revelling in reading what you guys ordered and got!

I myself had an excellent mail day yesterday (or I should say last night as I was back home late) and got two packages. One was my order from What-Cha (I used the $5 credit for registering that they were doing for Steepsterites there for a while) and the other a ginormous order from Butiki.

I was super SUPER pleasantly surprised with What-Cha package! I ordered two samplers (First Flush Darjeelings and Nepal), a bunch of samples and 50 g of yellow tea (Huoshang Huang Ya). The package arrived sooner than I expected. It took about 7 business days, which is really not bad for international shipping. All the samples were packed neatly and if some of them needed a bigger bag (because of the leaf size), they were packed in a bigger one. I also got a super nice hand-written note thanking for support and listing the extra free samples that were added to my order (three of them!). I will definitely order from these guys again!

And in case you wonder, my ginormous and insane order from Butiki consisted of:
Pistachio Ice Cream 1 ounce
Caramel Apple 1 ounce
Plum Brandy Cheesecake 1/2 ounce
Glenburn Estate Darjeeling 1/2 ounce
Hattialli Golden Paw Assam 1/2 ounce
Raspberry Truffle 1 ounce
Red Queen Cupcake 1 ounce
Ruby Pie 1 ounce
Shiva’s Breakfast 1 ounce
Coconut Cream Pie Rooibos 1 ounce
Blackberry Lime Guayusa 1 ounce
Pineapple Cilantro Cream 1/2 ounce
Organic Bancha 1 ounce
Rwanda Rukeri 1 ounce
Pumpkin Creme Brulee 1 ounce

Yes, I am really done with ordering for a bit. I plan to collect money for the big Black Friday / Cyber Monday already ;)

I really like What-Cha’s logo.

That’s a HUGE Butiki order! Enjoy!

Nice haul! :D

Thank you, guys! I sure am excited about all these teas.

Marzipan, yes, I do like it as well. I would love to have some high tea with this dragon.

Two packages today.

Vintage Tea Works: Bourbon Chai

Adagio: earl grey bravo, anhui keemun, masala chai sample, cocomint green sample (the two samples were free and the earl grey is for hubby so I can totally justify buying more tea, right?). I really like the mini tin the Anhui Keemun came in:

Cute tin! :)

Apparently all of Adagio’s Master Teas come in tins, I never noticed that. :) Writing a tasting note for the Anhui Keemun right now.

Love the tin. Hope the tea is good.

Isn’t it funny how hubbies always drink the earl grey? My husband does too. lol Cute tin!

It is funny, and I am totally using it as a “gateway” tea! ;)

At some point my husband would like to try adding some tea to a beer he will be making, and it will probably be an earl grey! I will most likely get it from Harney & Sons (best value for the least cost, IMHO) and I will sure sneak in some… additional samples with the order ;D

I’ve got mine now helping to drink down the puerh tea.
