Luscious Watermelon from DAVIDsTEA
70

Had this one steeped in-store and iced a few days ago and wasn’t overly fond of it, so last night I decided to use up the 18g or so I had left and make a pitcher. I’m in a “clean out my tea closet” kind of mood, so I’m focusing on drinking all of my samples and all of my bags that just have 1-2 servings left in them.

So I was making tea last night, and opened a drawer to get something. The cord of the electric kettle was wrapped around the edge of the drawer and it started to fall. Idiot that I am, I instinctively reached out to catch it and instead I caught boiling water over my arm. So much fail.

Anyway, this tea is juicy and good, but I don’t think it will be replaced in our cupboard. We’ll see how I feel about it after I’ve finished this pitcher.

I hope it feels better soon. Burns are the worst kind of pain. Lots of cool compresses (and Ibuprofen!)

It’s actually not blistering at all, but it is swollen and red, getting darker my the minute, and hurts like a mofo. grumbles So it’s not too bad, but it’s not too good either.

oh that’s really good. I spilled boiling water on my hand once and it was nasty. Doc said to keep it moisturized and apply vitamin E daily… my scar is gone now, thank god!

yeah, I won’t be covered my OHIP for another month (grumble), so we’re avoiding the doc.

I burnt my arm with oil once when searing a roast. Horrible feeling. Definately keep it moisturized and maybe ask at the pharmacy if they have a cream you can get without a prescription to help it.

Thanks, it’s getting better and worse by the hour, weird little burn. Have blisters now, but it’s not hurting as bad, so…who knows XD

And yeah, I have the best wife in the world.

My tastes in tea have changed, so I should update this as well. I find myself leaning more towards rooibos and herbals, if only for their great ability to chill in my travel mug for hours and not get weird on me. When I have time to properly brew a cuppa, I lean towards white teas (which I only steep for 30 seconds) and black teas (which only get 2-3 minutes from me). I cannot stand green teas, they’re too fiddly for my tastes. Oolongs are great, but a bit fiddly as well. However, I love watching oolongs open up in my looseleaf brewer. I’m slowly discovering mates and falling for them…there are many I look forward to trying!

So…yeah. That’s me and my tea!
