Peach

Black Fruit Blend by Adagio Teas

In the famous poem ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’, T.S. Eliot wrote, ‘do I dare to eat a peach?’ The literary-minded folks at Adagio have taken it upon themselves to provide Mr. Eliot with an answer: no need to eat one. Just steep a cup of the premium Ceylon black tea flavored with sweet peaches. Please, be a peach. Give this tea a try.

Nope.

That’s really all, just nope.

I made it hot this morning, it was horrible. I thought, well since the peach oolong is better chilled, maybe it’s the peach flavoring they use? Maybe it’d be better chilled too?

Nope.

In this case, it’s not a problem at all with the Adagio Ceylon for once, it’s how horrid this peach flavoring is. Maybe I’m spoiled in the peach state (that doesn’t even produce the most peaches, shhhh) since all the other notes on this tea are rather positive.

Hey, at least it was a free sample.

Super stoked! I think I’ve cracked the case of Adagio black teas! Thanks everyone for your advice…

I put less tea leaves than I normally put in this cup, then only steeped it for 1:30, and THEN put just a TAD of rock sugar in it to try to cancel out some of the bitterness and Gasp it is officially drinkable!

Excited now to go back and drink my 24 teas I got over the last year that I couldn’t stomach when they were super bitter! Yay!

I am very surprised and pleased by this tea! The peach is juicy, the black is strong but not too strong…I could fall for this tea! The Southern gal in me is over the moon about how good this is!

A good little tea. The peach flavor presents nicely to the nose and tongue. This is the best of the Orchard Sampler. It was pleasant enough hot, but cold is where it really shines. Especially since it is 97 degrees at the moment. ;o)

I like this one…I can not be sure if their tea was of high quality but it did just fine with the peach flavor.
Their flavor was more natural than many other peach teas I have had. The tea also had full body (ofcourse! what else can I expect from a Ceylon?) which was good…and the shiny orange peach bits made me happy :)

This tea is great iced! I cold brewed this overnight in my french press and poured it this morning. Before cold brewing, I awakened the leaves with a quick 20 second steep. This really let the flavor unfurl overnight.

Back to the tea, this tea tastes like the traditional black iced tea I’ve had at tea shops prior. I’m not sure it tastes like true, fresh peaches, but it tastes just like how I enjoy my peach iced tea. No added sugar needed. I may try blending it with another ceylon based flavor tea such as raspberry or ginseng, for more flavor.

Made this iced with 4 tsps to 32 oz using the cold brew method. Either I didn’t let it “brew” long enough, or I didn’t use enough tea. Not quite the kick I needed this morning.

I went on a rampage and ordered a bunch of samples from Adagio awhile ago. Most of them were straight/flavoured black teas, which I decided to try because I wanted to “develop” my palate. Sadly, I am finding that black teas don’t excite my life like oolongs do, so I have a LOT of black samples to tear through whether I like it or not.

This peach flavoured black tea is decent, and smells identical to fuzzy peaches candy. Definitely an artifical peach flavour and scent, but it doesn’t taste like it’s been sprayed with chemicals, so I’ll happily drink this with few complaints. It’s a little bland without sweetner, and I’m not sure how this is going to re-steep. I imagine this would be great iced.

new shipment in this rainy, dreary morning and I’m still stuffed from Mother’s Day brisket. As such, I was going to bypass lunch and get a cup of tea. Been wanting to try some new flavors and peach was one of them. This is EXCELLENT. It has a soft first reaction, then, after you take it in the peach tartness really kicks in. It’s a nice little flava adventure I’ll be taking. Plus, I forgot it was raining.

The smell was strong and pleasant, but once again I had a hard time tasting the flavor. What I could taste was nice, but only if I held it in my mouth for a while. I’m going to give it another chance though, but next time I’ll steep it longer.
