772 Tasting Notes
I got this as a sample from the Republic of Tea. This is a pretty nice tea, reminds me of the holidays, as I’m sure it’s meant to. The vanilla is pretty clear and the cardamom is mostly what I tasted as ‘warm’ (in the sense, not the temperature). I probably wouldn’t buy this but I wouldn’t complain about drinking it again.
Made with milk and sugar.
Flavors: Cardamom, Vanilla
Preparation
I got a pot-sized bag of this tea in the mail with a tea cozy someone made for me so I made it even though I wasn’t very excited about it. It’s very bitter and needed a lot of milk to make it drinkable but was otherwise not very outstanding in any manner.
Preparation
Surprisingly for a bagged tea, I quite liked this one. It tasted like a cookie. I usually add sugar to black teas because of the bitterness but this one could have used much less than I actually added and still tasted like a cookie, I think. I wouldn’t want to drink this all the time but if I want to drink a cookie, this one’s pretty good for that.
Preparation
Well, I was speculating earlier this morning if I’d ruined my taste buds to tea for the next little while until I get used to it again but then I had some of this (it’s some sort of trade, I have no memory of who gave this to me or when) because I was a bit worried about the age of the coconut.
Not only is the coconut still tasty but the whole tea tastes amazing. I’m really liking it. Coconut is the dominant flavour of the tea and then a touch of chocolate, and then the tea base. At some point when I’m buying tea again, I may have to pick some of this up. Onto the wishlist it goes.
I did use milk and sugar with it but I do that with almost all black teas so it wasn’t something special that I did for this tea.
Flavors: Chocolate, Coconut
Preparation
So I have no idea what I did to this tea but it was terrible today. Possibly steeped it too long. Possibly just ruined my tastebuds to plain tea over the last few months of little to no tea drinking. I don’t know but it made this tea very bad this morning. Drank it anyway but wow. Note: pay more attention to steeping this even if it is a plain black bagged tea next time.
Preparation
First time I’ve had both this tea and tea in general in quite a long time, been away from steepster for months. Combination of busy and moving to a desk that is smaller in a building that has no filtered water. Nasty tasting water and no place for tea does not make for a teaful day.
I’m not enjoying this tea as much as I remember doing and it might be that I need to reacclimate my tastebuds to tea again. There’s been a lot of hot chocolate in my recent past. At the same time, I can sorta see why I liked it and I hope to get back to that place soon.
Preparation
First tea I’ve had in a while. I needed a comfort drink though it’s not really the right weather for hot tea. My favourite cousin died exactly one year ago today, at age 19 in a car accident. She was a beautiful person, inside and out and I miss her terribly.
Preparation
Still enjoying this tea, though it was a little weak today. Should have gone with 5.5 or 6 tsp for the 1000 ml mark. I wanted to fill up my giant cat mug twice with this pot.
Tea is aging okay. Persimmon Tree has been bombarding me with 50% off sales all week that I’ve been resisting. Can Not Purchase More Tea.
Flavors: Almond, Vanilla
