i’m listening to my first Nightvale episode ever. well, actually now i’ve moved onto my 2nd episode. but you know.

i guess i started out a bit more confused with the whole podcast than i thought i would be? not that i was really trying to make sense of it, not at all, but more like i’m not sure i speak their creative language yet.

i picked this tea because it was the first thing he said that was a tea i have here.
a vanilla forward scented blend, with vanilla creme and a kind of warm oily note from the sesame.
this MIGHT be one of the FIRST blends i’ve had that i REALLY get each of the teas in the taste. all the teas are present and accounted for.

i’m gonna try to listen to 1 or 2 episodes a day while i do numbery stuff at work.

I love that it’s similar to Reichenbach Reunion but not as sweet or as full of bergamot. Doesn’t require close watching so that it doesn’t turn bitter. Just be sure not to think about it it or look at it or in any way acknowledge that it exists…

The first few sips of this weren’t anything special, but then it subsided and now I’m getting a creamy EG. It’s a little astringent – I should have steeped at 205F instead of 212F. Whoops. Guess I was too busy not staring at the hooded figures to brew this correctly.

It’s good. I wouldn’t restock it though.

sooo i’m not sure how i feel about this cup. there’s blergamot in there..but when i’m drinking this, each sip is different. And when the blergamot is really present, i don’t like it..but when it takes a back seat…i do. hmmmm… so i like this half the time? hahaha thanks for sharing cavo!

I have no idea how I feel about this one. On one sip, it’s “blegh” but on the next it’s “mmmm”. I actually let this cup get cold and I like it a lot, lot more. Hmm. It’s very creamy and the earl grey is kind of calm and quiet in the background. Every time I go to look into my cup, I’m compelled to look away, and as I think about this tea, my head fills with a loud buzzing static…what was I talking about again?

Um, I am trying this iced, and chocolate iced tea is not the best idea. What was I thinking with that one?

I woke up this morning and Shmiracles gave me a Hannicure – what’s that you ask? Why, it’s a Hannibal manicure. No flesh eating involved, just fandom-themed nails, like a little knife and fork decal, or crazy plaid, or extreme paisley, or super gorgeous light peach paint with antler decals. She is so talented. I love them so. Fandom nails, it’s a thing! Sorry I can’t post pics at work, but we’ll have to get pics up somewhere. Because it’s awesome.

How good does that sound? So very very good. I’m joking, I can find some on my own, but has anyone tried any good Thai iced tea style recipes???

Of course the first Nightvale blend I reached for was the creamy vanilla Earl. I don’t know why this one is the Hooded Figures – it isn’t dark and mysterious at all. Creamy and light. A very tasty Earl, but the black base is very dry and a little bitter. A shorter steep time may be in order.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy this cuppa with some wheat by-products.

Usually I wait till after I’ve tried a tea a couple of times to review it. Personally within the first few sips I knew that I did not enjoy this blend. It’s far too sweet for my liking. I was hoping for more of an earl grey flavor. Which this tea did not deliver on. Plus the tea tasted more like cocoa but not in a good way. It reminded me of Tony Stark but not as strong in smell like the Tony tea was. If you like dessert teas then this one could classify as that.
