Cotton Candy Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
93

So when I think of cotton candy I think of those little fairs that they have in malls during the summer. So when I saw this I had and AWE I miss being a kid moment. And knew I needed to try this as it would bring back a food memory.

So I was a little hesitant at first to try this cause when you think cotton candy you think pure sweetness and sugar overload. Not so much as sugar and earthiness from the matcha. So I wasn’t quite sure if this was going to work out okay. But alot of people have said in reviews its a good combo, so well heck I gotta try it.

So what I got was Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. I’m going to have try this in robust flavoring to see the difference. So first attempt at drinking it I made it into a Iced latte. Yum definitely the right choice, I had to add a touch of sweetener cause I’m a sugarhollic and need everything sweet. I’m actually really surprised how the sweetness works with the matcha. Red Leaf you’ve done it again! Blown my mind, even when you think oh no that’s not going to work at all it does. You can taste the matcha which I like but its got this sweet, soft, creaminess to it, that reminds you of cotton candy. And its not too sweet where you feel after you drink it your going to go into sugar shock. If I closed me eyes and drank this I wouldnt be like OH! this is cotton candy matcha. Its got a sweetness to it but I also got it in delicate flavoring, I bet in robust flavoring you’d know it was cotton candy :) l This is where I got it http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/cotton-candy-matcha.html

I think this would make an amazing matcha ice cream. Oh no I see a cooking adventure in the near future with this. Cotton Candy Matcha Ice Cream sounds perfect!

Cheesecake Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
96

Oh sweet heavenly goodness! This matcha makes me laugh. I bet I sound like a crazy person now so I will explain why it makes me laugh. When I was told I had a gluten allergie it sucked big time, alot of food has gluten in it. So for my birthday all I wanted was a gluten free cheesecake. So me and my friends went on this huge adventure around town to find a gluten free cheesecake for me. So we found this little bakery online that sold glutenfree cheesecake I was so excited and happy. So we went to find this place, we got lost 3 times bused all around town, walked in circles for i don’t know how long, then it started to rain. We almost gave up but we finally found it in this little hidden strip mall. So we all ran into the store and there it was, so we asked for one which they had in the back and got it all packed up ( everything gluten free seems to cost so! much more!) and started back to my house. Well as soon as we got home we took it out of the box. And jeeze! glutenfree my butt! all they did was scrape off the crust! So when I think about anything cheesecake that is the first thing I think of.

Now enough babbling, so what I got was Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. One of these days I’m gonna have to try different flavor strengths and compare. So I made this into a iced latte because cheesecake is usually cold so I wanted my matcha to remind me of a real cheesecake. I first tried it without sweetener then with it. I have to say when i added the sweetener I found it gave it more of a real cheesecake sweetness. But it has a sweetness on its own, but im a lover of everything really sweet so it depends on your preference. And its not a fake store bought taste, its a made at home with love cheesecake taste. Got it here http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/cheesecake-matcha.html

I also made it into a smoothie. I made my matcha the normal traditional way, then added half a cup of milk, a bunch of frozen raspberry my matcha, and blended it all up. And OMG raspberry cheesecake anyone amazing! The sweetness of the raspberry and the cheesecake is perfect, my drink didnt even last 5 minutes. But now im sad cause its gone.

Its rich and sweet and delicious. What more can you ask for! I have to say thank you to Red Leaf Tea for making these amazing flavors, being allergic to everything really sucks and having all these lovely flavors of things that don’t make me sick means alot, so thank you! Im sure everyone who drinks there tea is thankful, but to me its something special.
Mocha Matcha from Red Leaf Tea

Thank you so much Azzrian! For the sample!

Gosh this is soooo good! Its sweet and chocolaty and smooth and yum! Gosh I’ve been missing out I’ve been getting all my matcha in delicate flavor cause I wanted to taste the matcha but this taste so mcuh better. I guess I need to jump on the robust flavor train now. I’m not going to want to go back to delicate flavors after this one. But sooo! good Ièm very sad now that I drank it all :)

Pumpkin Pie Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
92

So today I decided to make my own pretzels for some reason, so while I was waiting for the dough to rise I made myself a cold latte with this. So I was all excited for it, it seems someone had used all the milk! But I needed my matcha fix so I tried it with almond milk. YUM! its brings a amazing nuttiness to the spiciness of this matcha. I think I might be making them with almond milk from now on yum.

Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait from DAVIDsTEA

I LOVE this tea. I have never really liked rhubarb anything before. But this is amazing. You get the sweet strawberry taste then a little tartness from the rhubarb. I could drink this all day long.

Strawberry Cream from Zen Tea
88

I really like this tea. You get a nice black tea base, but you get this sweet creaminess. I love that you can actually taste the strawberry’s. It reminds me a lot of DT strawberry shortcake. This is very yummy :)

Toffee Dream from Zen Tea

I think this is my first white tea ever! I liked this tea quite a bit, I love the creaminess it has. Its sweet but not overly sweet. Very nice :)

Watermelon Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
93

Yum watermelon! When I opended the package of this all I could think was summer! And why didnt I get this before the summer eneded. You get this lucious sweet smell that just fills my house, its smells like joly ranchers! Everytime I open the container everyone in the house knows exactly what I’m doing. So what I got was Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. I had to try this cold first. So I made myself a Iced latte, I can taste the earthiness of the matcha but there if this sweet juicy watermelon taste that is mouth watering. I have to say out of all the matchas I’ve tried so far, this is the one that I taste the matcha the most. I did get it in delicate I bet this would be amazing in robust!

I made my latte by adding 1 tsp of my watermelon matcha and put it through my sifter. Added 2 oz of hot water and started whisking away until its all was blended. Added ice to my glass, then mixed about half a cup of milk into my bowl with the matcha. After everything was mixed together I poured it into my glass with the ice. I did add a bit of sweetener to bring out more of the watermelon sweetness. Yum this is the perfect drink for a nice summer day. I only wish watermelons where still in season, after reading reviews of people putting in watermelon chunks I want to try it.

Its lucious, its sweet, its earthy, its great. Alot of the times with drinks that have watermelon flavor they just dont taste like watermelon at all. This is a very authentic watermelon flavor to me. Its crazy who would have thought watermelon and matcha would go together, but it does and its delicious. It amazes me how Red Leaf gets there flavors so spot on. Here is the link if anyone else wants to try this delicious flavor http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/watermelon-matcha.html

Pumpkin Chai from DAVIDsTEA

I don’t know if I got a bad batch of this but the first time I drank it it was a little spicy and creamy. The second and third time it tasted musty, it just didn’t taste right. It even smells musty. So I am lowering my rating for this. I ordered it online before it came out again in the stores, so maybe they gave me a old batch.

Raspberry Truffle Matcha from Red Leaf Tea

Raspberry Truffle Matcha from Red Leaf Tea

So this is my second matcha today. I probly wont sleep now, oh well totally worth it.

I am a lover of all things chocoalte. Now Ive never had a truffle so I guess I can’t say I’m a chocolate master, but when I saw this I thought of those little chocoalte boxes you get that always have the chocolates with the raspberry fillings. So I might not be the best at figuring out if this is a real authentic raspberry chocoalte truffle flavor. So this is my first raspberry flavor and first chocolate flavor from Red Leaf so I’m quite excited.

Now alot of choclate flavored drinks I’ve tried either taste way too overpowering or have this weird fake choclate taaste. So I was a little hesitent when I was thinking of purchasing this. But everything I’ve had from Red Leaf has been great, so I finally gave in and got it. The smell when you open the bag is just amazing. Who doesnt like the smell of choclate and raspberrys. So what I got was Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. Ive been making all my matchas cold, so I decided to do this one cold aswell. So I made an Iced Latte with milk, and oh my gosh. Its sweet from the raspberrys and the chocolate, but its not overpowering with the choclate, I get the matcha but its not the primary flavor I get. Its got a nice creamy flavor to it. Guh its so good!

I bet this would be amazing as a hot latte. Even just thinking about it makes my mouth water, Raspberry Truffle Latte just sounds delicious. That is going to be my next drink with this. I usually add sugar with my lattes but this one didnt need it at all. Now I cant wait until tomorrow to try this as a hot latte, I’ve limited myself to 2 matcha a day so I dont drink it too fast. Come on tomorrow! For all you choclate lovers who want it, I got it here http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/raspberry-truffle-matcha.html

Pumpkin Pie Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
92

So its now officially fall, and when I think of fall I think of the beautiful senery from the autum leaves, halloween ( which is my favorite holiday), dressing up, pumpkin carvings and pumpkin pie of course.

My all time favorite fall drink is a pumpkin spice latte from starbucks, but its so expensive. So when I saw this i was like hummm I think I found a sustitute. I absolutly love pumpkin pie, its the one thing I will eat even though I know I will be feeling awful after (gluten allergie). I knew I needed to try this right away. So I finally got my package which took about 6 days to arrive. And as soon as I opened the package the most amazing sweet and spicy pie smell came out and filled the room. My friend came in and said it smelt like fall in my house, its smelt that amazing. I swear if I closed my eyes and smelt it I would think it was pie and not matcha.

So what I got was Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. Which can be bought here http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/pumpkin-pie-matcha.html. So I made this into a hot latte by sifting 1 tsp of the matcha into a bowl and added 2oz of water and whisking away, I reall suck at getting a foam. And I added my matcha mixture to 6oz of steaped milk and viola Pumpkin Pie Latte. Okay so I couldn’t wait for it to cool down so I sipped it piping hot…. not the best idea, all I can taste is cloves. So wait made myself wait a bit so it would cool down, second sip, a little better added a half a teaspoon of sweeter. Amazing! Now I do get a lot more clove then anything else in this, but there is a pie sweetness in it.

Now don’t get me wrong this isn’t Starbucks but its just as good and easier on my pocket and I bet alot less sugar. I can see this becoming my new mid day drink. Its so weird you can taste everything that is in a pumpkin pie in a liquid that is green. Its kinda a mind trick to me. You look at this green liquid and think that isnt going to taste anything like pumpkin pie but it totally does. And you can still taste that matcha, its not BAM matcha but its there. Im definitly going to have to order a big order of this. So delicious! This is the perfect fall drink. Im going to have to make lattes for everyone at thanksgiving so they can all try this.

Cookies & Cream Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
100

Just made a hot latte out of this. Gosh its so good! I think I like this better hot. The sweetness really comes out more I find when its hot.

Cookies & Cream Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
100

So Red Leaf Tea posted that they were coming out with a whole bunch of new flavors. So everyone got to vote for which new matcha flavor would be first to come out and go on sale. The winner was Cookies and Cream. So when I saw this i was so excited and just had to pick some up to try for myself. How can anyone say no to cookies and cream. So this is the second matcha ive ever tried.

Now a little information before i review this. About 2 years ago I found out that I have a gluten allergie, so I cant eat cookies at all. So when I saw this flavor, I knew I needed it. I miss cookies so much! And gluten free cookies dont even begin to compare to regular cookies. I love when I see things like this, cause I can feel like I’m cheating on the no gluten diet and not get sick :)

So what I ordered was… Size: Small (30 grams), Quality: Basic Grade, Flavor: Delicate. This is where you can get it http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/cookies-and-cream-matcha.html . So this time I thoguht I’d try it as a iced latte first ( thanks to Azzrian for giving me her recipe, I tweeked it about but mostly its her recipe). So what I did was took 1 tsp of my cookies and cream matcha and put it through my sifter. Added 2 oz of hot water and started whisking away until its all was blended. Added ice to my glass, then mixed about half a cup of milk into my bowl with the matcha. After everything was mixed together I poured it into my glass with the ice. Mixed once more a viola! Iced Cookies and Cream latte. Its tastes as great as it sounds. I found it a little bit bitter so I added half a packet of splenda to see if that would help and yum! Yup defitly not as bitter now. I wouldnt say it taste exactly like cookies , but hey cookies dont have matcha in it, so for a matcha flavor definitly a great flavor! Its got a nice sweet creamy flavor. I find with this one I dont taste the matcha as strongly as I do in the caramel matcha, but im not complaining at all both are amazingly delicious. But I think I prefer this one over the caramel one.

For all you gluten allergie or sensitivite people, this didnt make me sick at all. On the ingredients list it just says cookies and cream flavor, so I wasnt to sure if any of the ingredients would have gluten in it. But so far so good.

Bravissimo from DAVIDsTEA

Woke up this morning feeling absolutely awful. I’ve got my first cold of the season. And all I could think is I need this tea. The peppermint helps alot with the soar throat and the sweetness after is just right. This is the perfect drink when you have a cold tea.

Caramel Matcha from Red Leaf Tea

Caramel Matcha from Red Leaf Tea

Okay so I guess I should start off by saying I have not tried matcha before. I’m very new to the whole tea world, when I say new I mean really new, I started drinking tea about 2 months ago. But after reading so many great reviews on here about Red Leaf Tea Matcha I was like okay this must be amazing stuff. I need to try it now! There are so many amazing flavors to choose from.

So after looking through reviews and asking all you lovley people on here whats a good start off flavor for a newbie to matcha. I was torn between the caramel and cheesecake . But after a really tough decision I choose the caramel flavor, nothing can go wrong when it comes to caramel! What I got was 30 grams of Caramel Matcha in basic grade, with delicate flavor. I didn’t get a tin this time because I have one already at home, but will definitly need to get one on my next order. Aswell as I really want to try the different quality and flavor strenghths of different matchas and see what differnce it makes.

So I think I was a bit too excited for my package to come, everday when the mail man would come, I would run out of the house to the mail box and see if my matcha was here. Now I’m sure my mail man thinks I am a crazy women now, but hey a womens aloud to be excited about new tea, come on :). So each day id go running and hoping that my matcha goodness would be here, and now it finally is! I live in Canada so everything takes so! Darn long its torcher ! But its finally here so yay! For all you canadians it took mine 10 buisness days to arrive, I live in the counrty so everything takes a bit longer to get to me. Now this is where I purchased it from http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/caramel-matcha.html

Now enough of the babble on to the deliciousness, when opening the package the most amazingly sweet caramel smell came out . I could just sit here and smell it all day. But at the same time all i want to do is make myself a drink and try it!

How I prepared it first was I guess you would call it the traditional method, which is half a tea spoon of matcha, I thought id start with just a small amount. Since like I said I’m a matcha newbie and didn’t want it too strong and turn me off. So I sifted my matcha into a bowl and added a little bit of water and whisked to make a thick paste. After that I added about a total of 3 oz of pre-boiling water. And started whisking away. Now after watching so many videos on whisking matcha , I tried to copy the motions. I tried to do the “M” like motions with my whisk Its so much more difficult then I thought, Id keep catching myself whisking in circles. Now I also don’t have a proper matcha set, so I just used my own bowl and little whisk. Oh and I also pre-warmed my bowl like I saw on a couple videos for making traditional matcha. All I did was add a little of the pre-boiled water to the bowl and moved it around, then poured it out and wiped the bowl with a paper towl. I’m not sure if it does anything, but I thought id do it anyway. I wanted the best first matcha ever!

So after whisking away and coming up with a somewhat foam, I’m awful at making a foam but I guess practice makes perfect . I got this lovley green coloured drink that smells absolutly mouth watering. So now its finally time for the moment of truth. At first I found it a bit bitter, but after reading review people say if its bitter keep whisking so thats what O did. Oh my gosh its amazing! I never knew what I was missing. I now know why everyone rants about this stuff. I could drink this all day long. You get the sweet taste of the caramel but its not overpowering with sweetness, then you get the nice earthyness from the matcha tea but doesnt taste like your drinking leaves. Its the perfect balance of sweetness and earthness for me.

I dont know what I was expecting with matcha but this definitly blows my mind. I guess I was worried it was going to taste like eating tea leaves. But I dont know why i was worrying this is so good! Its a legit caramel taste, not a artifical carmel flavor you get in candies. Gosh its so good. I think everyone needs to run to the site and try this right now! Its that good. Again this is where i got it. Run go now! Right now. http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/caramel-matcha.html

Pink Flamingo from DAVIDsTEA

This tea has such a nice purple colour to it. The first thing that popped into my head when I drank this was Starbucks passion tea. Im not sure why maybe the hibiscus and citrus in it. But if anyone likes the Starbucks passion tea you will probably like this.

Swampwater from DAVIDsTEA

So I went to dt a couple days ago and there was only one person in the store with me, and when I asked for this tea, the man came up to me and asked what it was. He says all he could smell was the amazing sweetness of this tea.

I love this tea, I love everything from the taste, to the name, to the strange colour it is. I love the sweetness from the strawberry’s which are my favorite.

So I’m having one of those days while I was trying to get this tea into my tea bag, a huge gust of wind came inside and knocked over my whole pouch of tea! And I ended up missing the tea bag because I was trying to catch the bag at the same time. Tea everywhere! Oh well this tea is so worth it.

Really liked this tea. I haven’t had red velvet cake that I can remember so I cant compair it to the cake. But this tea is a nice sweet tea. Delicious.

Root Beer Float (organic) from DAVIDsTEA

I had this hot and didn’t much like it. I get a little of the root beer flavor, but not as much as I thought. I added a little milk to it which made it a little better, but i find this tea very bitter. And didn’t get any float creamy flavor out of it either.

When I smelt this in the store i was like oh jeeze its after eights! And just had to get some. Too me it tastes just like the after eight mint chocoalte candies, which tastes amazing. This is a great sweet treat tea.

Bio

Gosh I’m so horrible at these things. So my name is Cedes. I just recently started drinking tea. I pretty much like all the tea that I’ve tried.

I have 2 dogs that are rescued. I am a very big animal person.

My favorite tea at this very second would be dt banana nutbread. I like more fruity teas then plain teas. I’m not one for just regular tea.

The only tea place I’ve tried so far is davids tea. But hoping to try some new tea brands. My new thing is trying matcha. Got some coming in the mail. So yay to trying new tea!
