I visited Tea Cellar with my husband and a couple of friends back in 2008. The ambiance was warm and comfortable and for about $20.00 per person (can’t remember the exact price), the buffet of finger sandwiches and desserts was well-stocked and pretty good for the price. The tea options were limited but nice. I was expecting great service but was disappointed, the waitress was pretty snotty. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. We talked about visiting the place again but they were closed when were last in DC. Besides, I heard that the buffet price almost doubled and the selection are still similar to before?
We all know that Teavana is overpriced and the lack of ‘sampler’ size makes them even less practical. The only thing going for them is accessibility and convenience. They do have some interesting blends that I try every now and then. Customer service in Teavana at Towson Town Center is good, not amazing but not bad either. I didn’t feel pushed into buying stuff I don’t need which is good since I’ve been hearing a lot about Teavana’s pushy attitude.
A couple of weeks back, I decided to place my first order with 52teas. During checkout, there were technical problems and here is when I experienced first hand the kind of customer service you will get from Frank. I messaged Frank about it, and he responded immediately. He got on the phone with paypal and 3dcart tech people to try and sort the problem out and he kept me abreast of what’s going on. He was very polite, apologetic and helpful. I never felt frustrated during the whole ordeal because I know that he’s there to help me out.
I received the shipment in less than a week, which is not bad at all and I enjoyed every single tea that I have tried so far, so that’s good too. I can’t wait to see what his next blend is going to be. I just wish I could get my hands on all the great blends I missed out on.
