Dorian Grey

I have been looking forward to this tea since I first stumbled across it. I mean, who wouldn’t love a tea called Dorian Grey? I finally caved and bought Apollo’s ‘best of Earl Grey’ sampler and this was the first tea I tried.

I was a little worried at first. Of the 5 teas in the sampler, this had the lightest aroma. In fact, it almost smelled a little stale. When hot water is poured on it, I get a burst of wonderful scent and then that murkiness overtakes again.

I am pleased to say that the taste is far better than the scent would have you believe. This is a mellow, smooth, and creamy Earl Grey. There is a soft caramel aftertaste but it’s just the right amount; no overpowering sweetness or gourmand flavour. I’m a huge Earl Grey fan and this one is now among my favourites. I can’t wait to try the others!

Tasting note: I had this with 1% milk. No sugar.

This is an excellent combination of flavors, it has just the perfect hint of bergamot mixed in with it. Being more complex than most earl greys that I’m used to, I find that I really prefer to drink this while I’m sitting and thinking about things, the flavors really help me contemplate

Delicious! I’ve tried harney and son’s which was also very good, but I can’t taste a thing about this tea I don’t like. It has a great taste and smell.

That is one of the greatest Earl greys for sur. It has some additions to it that makes a tests unique.

My favorite from ApolloTea so far. A little sweet (floral, not fruity), a little spicy (peppery, not bitter), very nice all in all. Can easily brew a strong cup to handle cream or drink without for a totally different profile. Really lovely and versatile tea.

Great Earl Grey. My favorite. This is a tea that you will want to have around for all occasions.

This tea is fragrant but not overpowering. The smell of the dry leaves suggests a very strong flavor but the tea itself is subtle and sweet.The light bergamot flavor fits perfectly. It was nice overall.

I have had earl grey tea for years and never had it taste so delicious. The flavors are rich and flavorful but with no bitterness or strange aftertaste. I would highly recommend this tea for a morning or afternoon treat

I love earl grey and this is about the best i’ve ever had. It’s wonderful plain or with cream and sugar. The bergamot does not overwhelm like it can in other teas.

Pretty good for earl grey. If you like black tea, you’ll probably love Dorian Grey! If you don’t like black tea, this may be the one to try.

I am a self-proclaimed Earl Grey connoisseur. I have shelves of Earl Grey from at least 15 different companies. But I must say, Dorian Grey from Apollo Tea is definitely in the upper echelon of them all!
