Matcha Sendo

Green Tea by Camellia Sinensis

This Matcha has an aroma of berries and dark chocolate. On the palate, you’ll be seduced by the rich and full texture, and the surprising notes of Jerusalem artichokes.

I’m going to try a 2nd test right after this attempt because I am missing the dark chocolate aroma this time around. I used 3 tsp for this cup and it’s in a standard size mug. I can pick up on the berry notes in the aroma tho. As for the taste it’s mellow but marvelous! I can taste the artichoke comparison mentioned in the product description but I am picking up on fruit like tones too! I really like this! REALLY like this! I am going to try it with MORE powder next time around. But I’m solid in my upper 90s rating for this specific attempt.

Marvy!

Almost forgot to log this one – see previous notes – but this time around – I still really LOVE this – but have had many more matcha since and knocked just a few points off because there are many that have reached or passed this one in taste – according to my personal taste buds, anyways…but this is still among my fave’s…just not a 100 anymore…still high 90s!

A new DAY! I started it with MATCHA in continuation of my MATCHA-THON yesterday but don’t think I will ONLY do Matcha today…a mix. Started with two cups of this tho! It’s almost gone…it will be missed. This is one of my fave all -time FAVE matchas!!!!

5 tsp

Well, the dark chocolate aroma isn’t loud but it is there. Oddly…if I try and smell it with my nose right up to the mug I can’t really pick it out but if you take a step back I can smell it then…strange but true, folks!

As for the taste with this much powder it is very vegetal and grassy. Still pretty yummy but I like the fruity notes I tasted in the first attempt better so I think I will stick with the 3 tsp.

It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve had a bowl of Matcha! I know it hasn’t been, but, it just seems that way. This is a really good Matcha, very smooth and rich. Sweet vegetative flavor with notes of fruit and a hint of bitter close to the end of the sip. A very satisfying Matcha.

I made a smoothie, and I just grabbed this Matcha to add to it because it was nearby. Normally, I prefer to drink this matcha straight (no smoothie) because it is SO good on it’s own that it doesn’t need all the fruit flavor … but, I wanted a smoothie, and I like to add Matcha to my smoothies, and this is what I grabbed… fortunately I still have enough of this for at least a couple of bowls of Matcha.

This smoothie is so good and refreshing. I used some greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, bananas, juice from an orange, and a couple of ice cubes along with the Matcha … it is so yummy. I taste the banana first, then the sweetness of the strawberry comes through along with a hint of vegetation from the Matcha. The ice cubes gave it a cool sensation which is absolutely necessary as it is another scorching hot day. I notice that this tastes less creamy than the smoothies I made last week with the vanilla cloud matcha … the vanilla really made a difference. Not saying that I like one better than the other though, because they are both really awesome.

This is perfect.

Backlog: Yesterday afternoon, my Matcha was this Matcha… I had just enough left for one chawan and it was a delicious way to say goodbye to this yummy Matcha. Here is my full-length review for it: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/05/02/matcha-sendo-from-camellia-sinensis-2/

An excellent Matcha. Sweet and vegetative, with a smooth texture. Rich and delicious… just what I needed after a trip to the mall.
