From Happy Earth Tea

DRY TEA: With dark chocolate looks this wiry tea from Tukdah tea estate packs in the heady aroma of a good Second Flush Darjeeling. The leaves have a fruity, nutty fragrance mixed with a biscuity character.

INFUSION: The wet leaves turn brown and dark green with nose recalling citrus, floral and malty notes. It is this mix which is characteristic of the muscatel flavor, for which Darjeeling is famous.

CUP: The liquor is rich dark amber with a playful fruity flavor profile.

Brewing Directions: Just about tea spoon for a cup. Do not steep for more than 3 minutes, less if you want a lighter liquor.

This is my first Happy Earth Tea TEA…I’m very excited…totally LOVE the company name! I will say that I have been emailing the company owner back and forth and they are lovely to deal with!

This smells a bit bakey or croissant-like…I really love the scent! That smell paired with the naturally fruity nose makes a unique and wonderful pairing!

WOW! This is a very flavorful – very sturdy Darjeeling! It has characteristics of darjeeling but it offers so much more! It also tastes VERY malty – YAY – and naturally fruity-goodness plows thru! It has a unique sweetness to it and is rather smooth on the end sip on to the aftertaste!

This is marvelous! I REALLY love this!

Backlog:

A flavorful Darjeeling – a nice muscatel note. Sweet, fruity, nutty, and earthy. A very enjoyable cuppa! I even noticed hints of malt that made me question if I was tasting a Darjeeling! This definitely seems like a stronger, more robust Darjeeling … not the sparkling, crisp lighter Darjeeling that I’ve come to expect when I drink a Darjeeling.

But don’t mistake that for me not enjoying this because I really enjoyed it – especially because it was really different. A very nice tea.
