Iced Latte!
It is a busy time of year, but especially if you’re connected to retail in anyway. In the past during the holiday season I’ve volunteered to work extra hours to support some of our teams (like customer service). It’s pretty normal, as well, for head office employees to work a shift or two during this time of year in some of the stores local to us. I always struggle with that because I don’t speak French, so it’s challenging to actually be helpful for those teams…
Well, this year I ended up helping out a bit by just doing stock. Unpacking boxes, refilling shelves, and things of that nature. Definitely something I used to do a lot back in the day when I worked in store, and that is really helpful and requires no French. I will say, putting in six hours of essentially non-stop stock is way more exhausting now than I remember it being seven years ago. My legs were jelly the next day!
I brought a bunch of travel mugs with me for my stock shift and filled them all up with tea so I could stay super hydrated while I was working in the offsite room. This was one of them! It’s probably my second favourite tea that we released this year? Top three, easily. I know I shouldn’t have favourites, but it’s impossible not to.
As a latte it’s rich and earthy with warming, cozy spices. I adore the use of allspice in this blend. With the clean, earthy sweetness of the carrots that combination makes the blend IMO and then the creamy notes of frosting are the cherry on top. Except not fruity. This isn’t a fruity carrot cake at all – no sneaky raisins or shredded pineapple to be found. Just sweet spices and bold tea.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
