1.5 tbsp for 375 ml
Flavours are a bit strong. Black tea is a bit too astringent for my taste. The berry flavouring in the tea tastes artificial and is overwhelming. I will try to infuse at a lower temperature for a shorter amount of time

I’m recording those settings in my app for the next time I try my new tea! Thanks Sil!!

this also makes a really nice cold brew in summer…i started to prefer it that way after a while.

Is 5 tsp for about 13 oz typical for this tea?

Raritea

I usually measure in tablespoons. Not sure how well it translates when you’re measuring out tea. I might try to back off to 1 tbsp next time as well. I generally assume that 1 tea spoon = 0.3 tablespoons. I prefer the tablespoon because I can’t seem to get those long white tea leaves to stay in such a tiny space.

keychange

Oh ok. I tend to be a bit of an overleafer anyway; I just wasn’t sure if mf called for several tsp in one cup or not…because you never know.

Sil

1 Tablespoon is roughly 3 tsps, depending on your tablespoon and your teaspoons..

I would say it’s significantly overleafed. If I was making it, I’d use one teaspoon for that amount of water and steep it only 2-3 minutes and less than boiling. I find in general that flavoured teas give me the best result if I make them the same temperature as I would an oolong, so it’s been ages since I’ve steeped a flavoured with boiling (on purpose).

Flavours are not balanced well. The licorice is far too strong. The chocolate notes are quite bitter and dilute. There is something very artificial and chemical-tasting. I am a person who generally really enjoys licorice. The tasty aroma of the dry leaf does not translate into the flavour

Interesting – I think I would have enjoyed it without the licorice-sweet aftertaste.

Raritea

I agree. It didn’t really fit in with the overall flavour profile.

Smokiness in aroma. The aftertaste reminds me of the feeling in my mouth after having eaten a walnut or almond- kind of dry. Smoky note with a hint of leather.

Black currant flavour is a bit to much like candy for my taste. A little bit of tartness might make this more authentic-tasting.

As the infusion is cooling, I’m detecting an artificial sweetner aftertaste. Maybe it is from the “artificial black currant” ingredient listed.

I hate this tea. It tastes like licorice and medicine. Blech!

Smooth smoky, woodsy, musty flavour.

Subsequent infusions at 2 and 3 minutes were more flavourful. I would definitely try this one again with a longer first time infusion.

Mainly savoury flavour. Mouth-feel is medium thick. Mild soft sweetness near end of sip. Almost a minty feeling in aftertaste. Reminiscent of chamomile (in aroma and flavour) but very subdued.
