It’s really starting to feel like Spring. The sun is shining, I can hear the birds chirping, and the crocuses are already popping up. As much as I enjoy the coziness of Fall and Winter, I always look forward to shaking off the cold weather chills and welcoming back the bright and sunny days.

Quite fittingly, this tea reminds me of gardening. When I was a child, my Dad used to have a vegetable garden in our backyard. Once the weather would warm up he’d be out there, pulling weeds and preparing the soil. The garden had a small rock pathway, which at times would be taken over by mint. If you’re not familiar with growing mint, it grows like a weed and can easily take over a garden. Despite this fact, I used to enjoy stomping across that garden path as a child to tell my Dad about the latest adventure I went on with my neighbor’s cat; all the while taking in the fragrant scent of mint rising up from under my feet. This tea brings back such lovely memories of those times. In fact, I think next spring/summer, once the renos are done and my hubby and I are in our new home, I will consider growing mint myself (in containers) to make tea like this. But until then, this tea will suit me just fine.

So I had an incredibly stressful day at work yesterday. If I said that a girl went home sick and we had to re-do the zoning schedule on the fly and my best hour on the wall got cut, that would make no sense to most of you. But that is what happened – although it was okay in the end, I still kicked butt. We all did, so we’re going to have fun beating that by ten percent next year. But my day started out on that bad note.

And then someone at work cheerfully told me (as a joke? I guess?) that they had a dream about making out with me and I reacted by stiffly freezing and slightly panicking because I am horrible with social interaction stuffs which are not work related. So we both ended up horribly embarrassed and not looking at each other, and they apologized for freaking me out, which they did not in the way I think they mean – I think they think it is a sexual orientation thing because of that comment, which means they may be offended in that, “oh that was threatening to you, was it,” way, but I am actually bi and just a huge goober SO WHAT A MESS. And I do not want to talk to anyone else at work about it to sort it out in my head because I am in a leadership position and that is the worst position to be in and spread gossip.

ARGH.

And then I came home and binged (which I actually have not done in I-don’t-know-how-long, I have been good about fishes and veggies and fruitses and moderation) on baklava, macaroons, popcorn, ice cream, chocolate, brownies, candy, Turkish delight, 7-Up with vanilla syrup and orange extract (tastes like orange cream soda), and a donair in there somewhere to pretend I was actually eating dinner and then I fell asleep.

Then I got up this morning and was like, KILL ME. And I can’t even drink a detox tea because I have to work. Oh, and I forgot about the time change, so I’m up super early when I could have slept in.

So like.

Peppermint. Tea.

If nothing else, I can calm my stomach because it’s making threatening twinges like it wants to go into murderous spasms of betrayal. I mean, like I said, I’ve actually been treating it well lately. It took me forever to find the 10g of this I have, and now I really know the ridiculous number of teas I have. Wow.

I probably should have read the other tasting notes before I brewed this up. Other people are saying 30-60 seconds. Um. I left this steeping on the counter for like, 10 minutes. Well, now I know why people say only a few seconds. OH MY GOD, THE MINTY BURN. coughs

I might actually have to stop drinking this because the mint is so strong that I’m getting that funny feeling in my stomach you get when you accidentally swallow toothpaste. It’s just such a huge kick-to-the-face peppermint taste.

Some weeks ago, my mother took me out for dinner for my birthday, and since the waiter wouldn’t tell me the brand of tea they offer, I played it safe with a peppermint. I remember that pot very fondly, but the difference between that bagged tea and this is mind-blowing.

I don’t want to rate this until I’ve tried it at a shorter steep time! It’s not unpleasant taste-wise (I absolutely love both peppermint and spearmint), but it’s a bit tough to handle at this strength.

Steep time, beware!

Hot: Sweet peppermint, wow is this ever tasty! This part would have earned a 90 rating. Seriously. I swear there was sugar…

Cooled: Meh. Regular peppermint tea. Not nearly as smooth.

Second infusion: Ewwww. The initial sip is ok. More pure strong peppermint, but the aftertaste? Oh no, that was nasty. Sour and bitter!
So… if I can remember to drink the rest of this sample when it’s hot, and not make a huge cup so that it doesn’t get cold by the time I reach the bottom(like I did this time)… this will be a great tea for me! Of course, by the time I get around to it again, I’ll have forgotten. ha.
Now if only I could remember who gave me this sample… they deserve my thanks :)

I asked for a peppermint tea and that’s what I got! WOWEEE!
What a week. Crazy busy at work and home. My kitty crossed the rainbow bridge this week, he was twelve. Mojo will be missed, but because of his health issues he outlived the vets projection.
Today I shipped Military BoxerPapa off to the ranges for a training weekend. Now I simply needed a chance to breath.
This tea definitely helps with that! Very good, VERY smooth. I completely underestimated this tea when I bought 50 grams of it though. I got a HUGE bag. . . If anyone wants to try it let me know, lol.

Ugh! First cold/flu I have had in two years! This definitely calls for a strong minty tea. If I didn’t have a pile of boxers on my lap I would take more medicine.

i don’t know what i’m doing. i made 3 pots of tea today and i let them all get cold before i could finish them.
we are painting the living room ‘honey cream’ and ‘cherry red’ with a ‘chocolate’ colored trim. i was too busy to drink them properly. i should have used my timolino.

i read in bed and then painted for almost 10 hours straight.
then suddenly i felt very sad. (probably due to exhaustion)

is it possible to own a tea for every mood?
like music?
or poetry?

what am i searching for when i continue to buy more tea. and organize it. and taste it. and smell it. and buy the cups. and saucers. and teapots. to hold. and feel. and admire. in colors. and sizes. and textures and weights.
(i have more teas than i can possibly drink in a year, and i still search for more)

Ick. Tried this as a TOTD today and definitely not impressed, but I dislike peppermint teas, so no surprise there! So I won’t be a jerk and rate this, which would bring down the rating (since I’d probably give it a 20 or so). Just tasted like any old icky peppermint tea to me. On the plus side, I sniffed the Spearmint tea and boy, does it ever smell good! It’s now on the sample-purchase list :)

This is nice, it’s straightforward, simple. It doesn’t have anything complicated to say. Usually this ends up being my after-dinner tea. Most of the time I try to drink tea without sugar added to it, but once in a while it does magically end up in here. It’s not the strongest peppermint, but it’s far from weak. It’s a nice, easy going tea. All smiles from me.

One of my first loves of tea was peppermint. It’s awesome for upset stomach, calming nerves, aiding digestion and reducing headaches. I love peppermint tea, especially in the winter time when you just want to warm up.

Peppermint tea can vary in it’s strength and this tea is VERY peppermint’y’. Take note of your steeping time, 30-60 seconds. I steeped for closer to 70 seconds because I generally like my tea stronger, I have to say, it’s a bit too strong. AND I just burned my mouth. Perfect.

Unfortunately my stomach is upset today, so I chose to just have some straight peppermint tea.

This tea is fresh and clear. One sniff of my tin full of peppermint nearly burnt my nose hairs off it’s so strong haha. I’m hoping this will calm down my stomach so I can fully enjoy the rest of my Sunday.

Holy Peppermint Explosion Batman!

This is by far the best straight peppermint tea I’ve ever had. Pure, unadulterated peppermint. My mom recommended this for when my stomach is spasming, but I have yet to test her theory (thankfully, the stomach spasms feel like contractions—except contractions come and go in waves—and a stomach spasm can go on for hours). However the in-laws are visiting this weekend and without fail their presence tends to trigger one. Let’s cross our fingers that this time will be different, but if it does happen I’ll have this tea on-hand to potentially aid the situation.

On another note, has anyone tried this iced? As a cocktail? I’m tempted to play around with it a little bit since 30g of this tea seems like a lot.

There’s not much to say about this one… It’s just straight peppermint, and that’s exactly what it tastes like. Great for an upset stomach. Steeped for less than 45s.

This tea is great. Soothing on the stomach. Very refreshing!
I can see this tea being great cold-brewed and to mix with other teas.

Not my fave! To be fair, it was the first tea I’ve had from the store that they oversteeped. My DT is is really good for steeping their iced teas just right, but hey.
I like the spearmint more, this one is a punch to the face of mint – which is awesome when you’re in the mood for it!

I love my peppermint teas with milk, so I’ll try it again and give it a better rating once I’ve had it hot. b^_^

Peppermint tea is like the sweater I always wear when I want something warm and cozy. It’s reliable, soothing and goes with everything. After tasting this one, I exiled my peppermint teabags to the hard-to-reach cupboard above the fridge. This tastes fresh and full-bodied, like a peppermint flavor explosion. It’s like my old sweater magically became new again.

There doesn’t seem to be much too say about this tea. It’s got a good flavour to it, but it honestly isn’t the most peppermint-y tea I’ve ever had. Still good though.

The fact that it’s caffeine-free is a bonus for me as I will drink it before bed, particularly when I’ve got a cold. Or if I AM cold. Or any old reason, really.

I do warn anyone purchasing this tea though that it is an extremely light tea. I learned the hard way that buying 100g of it from DAVIDsTEA is a whole lot of tea. I left there with two bags and one of their tins.
Good thing I like peppermint.

This is the most pepperminty of the pepperminty teas by a long shot! I like to sip mint tea when I have an upset/anxious stomach or iced when it’s grossly hot outside.

Great in a mojito – and sometimes I throw an extra tsp of this in to my Read My Lips in the last minute of steeping for an extra minty boost.

Doesn’t seem to gain any bitterness or anything off-putting from oversteeping, despite the short steep time indicated in the directions. I once accidentally left it for about 7 minutes and it made an even better iced tea than expected!

If you’re looking for a really strong, fresh peppermint tea this one definitely is worth checking out.

Holy mint, Batman! I thought I loved a strong mint, and then I tried this tea. I normally reserve my straight mint teas for when I’m ill, and I’m thinking this one is going to be blended with my Cold 911 to kickstart things when needed. It’s a wee bit too strong for me, but it is better than any bagged version I’ve tried, and is definitely mintalicious. I love how I can feel the mint effects all the way down after I’m done!

I got myself a bag of this recently, to kind of stock up for the colder months ahead. I think peppermint is amazing when you don’t feel well – whether it’s an upset stomach, sore throat, cold, headache. It’s good on a cold day, and it’s refreshing on a hot day!
It’s good for making other drinks with as well, and getting creative. My bf and I made hot chocolates the other day, and I steeped some of this in my cup for a few minutes for a peppermint hot chocolate :). We both loved it and we’re definitely making it again next time. And last night I made some straight peppermint ‘tea’ to soothe my stomach, just steeped for a couple minutes and cooled enough to sip. It totally did the trick, and the relief is instant.
This is such a good ‘tea’ to have around, because it can be used so many different ways, and peppermint is just an all around good thing!

I haven’t had this since last year? What?? I guess I have a lot of mint teas and spearmint is the one that lives at work anyway. This is really yummy, not as in your face as my Sawadee peppermint, but really yummy with a true peppermint flavour. I love mint!

Brought the rating down a bit. I love mint teas, so it can be hard to differentiate one pure mint from another in terms of uality or taste. This one is quite bold, and so minty (if you steep it a good amount of time) that it almost seems cold – if you’re not a true mint fan I do not see this being the thing for you. I had a big cuppa this morning as part of my efforts to reieve a migraine (which worked, yay!) and really enjoyed it. I find myself turning to the milder spearmint from Davids Tea more often that not, but the Peppermint definitely has a place in my heart.
