From Traditional Medicinals

Organic Golden Ginger® supports healthy digestive function* by promoting the flow of digestive juices and increasing stomach muscle tone,* a normal process that keeps the digestive tract ready to function. Ginger tea is traditionally used to improve appetite and digestion and the use of chamomile for indigestion, bloating, and flatulence is supported by clinical data. Organic Golden Ginger® is spicy and pungent with ginger and balanced with pleasantly aromatic and mellow chamomile.

Tonight, I put down my cat after a 2 yr struggle with Thyroid disease and pancreatic cancer. She was 21.5 yrs old. She fought for life valiantly, coming back time after time even after the vet said she had only weeks left on this world.
Born into a life of extreme poverty and abuse, she was lucky to eventually land in our home. No, actually, we were the lucky ones. That cat stayed with us when we were sick, entertained us to no end, and warmed our hearts when we were sad.
I miss her already. No wonder, since I have known her for just over two thirds of my life.
Somehow, I find it fitting that I am laden with a head cold on this day- a gentle reminder that my mild suffering is a fraction of the pain she put aside for the sake of keeping a brave face. Funny, that my being sick has helped me cope with the guilt of ending another creature’s life.
That is why I find this tea oddly appropriate… soothing of my soul as well as the bug that ails me. A half spoon of honey rounds it off, coating my sore throat caused not by sickness but by crying my eyes out earlier today.
RIP my dear Midnight. I’ll miss you forever.

P.S. If only cats could enjoy tea…

Jessie

I’m so sorry! I’m glad she found such a loving and long-lasting home.

Indigobloom

thanks Jessie :hearts:
It was serendipity if I’ve ever seen it… that she landed in our laps…

Cattibrie

So sorry to hear you have lost your wonderful friend.

Dinosara

So sorry for your loss! It’s always so hard to lose such a close companion. Glad you have a soothing tea.

Ninavampi

I’m so sorry! Cats and Dogs earn their way into our hearts. We are incredibly lucky to be able to share our love with them, because theirs for us is unconditional. You were lucky to have each other.

Soothing tea in her honor!

Indigobloom

me to Cattibrie, me to… thanks for your kind words xx
Dinosara: she is the only one in the house who never chastised my tea love… haha. Thx friend
Ninavampi: we(the fam) certainly were lucky. She earned her place and then some… and yes, tea in her honor! and maybe one day a tattoo :)

Ninavampi

: ) I approve of the tattoo idea! I generally am not a fan, but when they are so meaningful, I think that they can totally be worth it.

Indigobloom

hehe thx. I’m the same way… tats just for the sake of tats… well I don’t see the point.

ssajami

So sorry for your loss. It brings tears to my eyes to think of losing a cat so close.(mine is getting on in years too, and that though terrifies me).
Lots of soothing teas, for sure.

TeaBrat

sorry to hear… :(

ScottTeaMan

It’s hard to lose our dear pets…my sympathies Indi

Dorothy

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I’ve lost a few pets over the years, and it sure feels painful when they go out like that. :( hugs

aisling of tea

hugs super, super tight I’ve been there, and I know the heartbreak well. Feel free to text or call. m so sorry for your loss.

KeenTeaThyme

I’m so sorry about your loss. I’ve totally been there. If you need anything at all, PM me, OK?

ashmanra

So sorry. We had a similar situation with a dog who lived 19 years and the vet would tell us at every visit that he knew it was the last time he would be seeing her. Six months later we would be right back again and hear the same words! I am now trying to get up the courage to get another dog, but I don’t know if I should…

Angrboda

I’m so sorry, Indigobloom. 21.5 years, though, that’s a highly respectable age! Especially if she was ill. I’m not going to say ‘try not to feel guilty’ because I know from experience that this is just not possible when one has had to make that sort of decision. Over time the pain will lessen, I promise. In the meantime, take comfort in all those many years you got to know her, the vast majority of which was as a healthy cat.

mpierce87

I’m so sorry so hear about your loss. I just hope my own beloved felines will grace me with their presence for as long as your dear Midnight. hugs

Indigobloom

Ssajami: well the tea certainly does help. and knowing that she lived more than double the standard life span of a cat in the wild. Cherish your kitty every day! :)

Indigobloom

thx Amy xx

Indigobloom

Scott: it is indeed hard, but so worth the joys they bring when with us :)

Indigobloom

Dorothy: yes it really is tough… one never gets over the loss of their first pet, or so I hear, and I believe it because this certainly does hurt! in time… I will get another and start all over again…

Indigobloom

Aisling: you’re such a sweetheart hugs back… I need hugs! and give one to Pekoe for me to k?

Indigobloom

KeenTeaThyme: If you didn’t live so darned far away I’d invite ya over for tea and we could trade pet stories. and then tea stories… xx

Indigobloom

Ashmanra: wow that is a long time! I’m sorry to hear about your dog :(
If you have the means and time for an animal… I say, go for it! I could never have a dog bc of my work schedule… but one day I will.
thanks for the kind msg xx

Indigobloom

Angroboda: It’s true, most of her many years were happy and carefree. I know it will take time… it’s the cycle of life we all go through, right? (begrudgingly in my case!)
I miss her dearly today but atleast it is bearable now. I was a right mess the other day!
thx so much for the kind words, to you Angroboda and everyone who msgd me xxx

Initial taste test demonstrates this tea be reminiscent of ginger milk tea from the teahouse I used to go to after english classes at the college where I did my technical degree.
Moreover the taste of hot shamomille is like the home remedy I still use for having caught a cold. While this is not an everyday tea, you will be hard pressed to find fault with it as a general restorative.

A uniquely spicy tea that steeps for about 15 minutes.
