2324 Tasting Notes
The spices definitely dominate the flavor here. Cinnamon and maybe clove. Nothing at all crumbly. Not really even apple, just that dominating spice. It’s not like it tastes bad (except sometimes it’s randomly bitter) but it’s not really true to its name, which is a shame. Pretty one dimensional, but I won’t mind finishing my bag.
The first time I tried this tea, I found it a bit thin and boring, even bitter. Next time, I made sure to overleaf and steep it properly. I’m not a huge fan without adding milk, but with milk, it can be nice. It’s a sort of berries and cream flavor. I don’t get any pastry notes. I accidentally spilled the rest of the bag on the floor, so unfortunately, I won’t be having more of this one. But I did like the black base and found the whole combination to be rather pleasing.
This tea is the perfect combination of juicy apricot and fresh lavender. I love how many blends from Plum Deluxe include lavender! This one is so good! So refreshing and lovely warm or cold. My ounce of this only made a few cups, and if their prices were more reasonable, I would certainly order more.
I was hoping this would be sweet and nutty. Instead it’s a bit appley and sour? It’s sort of like a too sour version of DT apple custard. With a shorter steep, it’s more pleasant, but still, why would I drink a less good version of another tea?
Very true! I’ve been a lot less hesitant to pour out bad teas lately. This one wasn’t quite that bad though.
Unless coconut (or some other ingredient, but usually coconut) has actually gone rancid/bad, I am the worst about throwing out tea I don’t like, and just suffer through finishing it off. I had a matcha recently that made Torture Smoothies for a week straight until it was gone…
Similar to other orange teas. It does taste pretty orangey, though not as fresh and delicious as some other versions. Maybe more peel taste than juicy insides? The shimmer is really pretty and fun. Not a favorite, but an okay replacement until I have a better orange tea on my shelf.
This is so delicious. I totally get both peach and creme brulee from this. The flavoring is done so well. The black tea tastes a little old, but I got it from a tea box, so that may be the case. So yeah, I absolutely love the flavoring here, but the base isn’t great.
I really didn’t know what to expect from this one. At first, I found it to be a little sour and strange. I added some milk and extra sugar, and actually, I kind of like it in its eccentricity. I totally get both the chocolate and the fruitiness, and the combo works. It’s like having a bar of dark chocolate with dried fruit bits in it.
This one is tart and warmly spiced. Maybe there’s a coolness in the aftertaste that contributes to the mistletoe feeling? I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. I prefer this one cold. The 20g didn’t make many servings, but this is one I’d consider ordering again.
I can’t really tell the difference between the glitter in this chai and when there are random little particles floating around in my cup. Nice idea though. This one didn’t need milk. The black tea was very light. The spices were decent, if a little generic and sweet. I know I’ve had plenty of other chais similar to this. It’s not spicy. The resteep tasted the same as the first. Quite similar to other DT chais. The strongest flavor is cinnamon.
