15711 Tasting Notes
I’m going to need to try this again before i land on how i feel about it. I was expecting more from this one when i brewed it up, based on the smell. It’s a lovely aroma – orangey, sweet smelling….however first sip of this after letting it cool a bit is more like slightly flavoured water. There’s almost a hint of orange here…but not really. the tea base is a little weak, which is odd since i’m fairly certain anne’s used this as a base for other teas that i’ve loved. I’m tasting the star anise for sure, but the other spices seem to be hiding. Not a bad cup, but not what i was expecting. Reserving judgement for now since it’s a recent blend and might just need a little more time and b) now there’s a little more room in the package to really shake things around.

so sad…this one is so close to being done. sigh makes me want to hoard it but i’m trying really hard NOT to do that with my teas…though i suppose most folks would laugh at me given the relative age of my cupboard….the oldest non puerh being only three months old haha

haha i can’t horde anyway…with so few options in my cupboard, they all need to be in rotation!
Also your 3 month old cupboard reminded me I needed to add to my sipdown box. Anything from March 2017 and earlier is now collected in one place and hopefully that will allow me to get my cupboard to a year old.
52 teas prize showed up today – amazing how quickly things can get here when the post office doesn’t take my tea on a 7 month journey lol Had this one earlier today to try and get my weight of LB down. I’ll need to reorder eventually but this is kinda my go to staple every day drinking tea…so there’s always lots in my cupboard.
tea today and this was the pERFECT pick me up this afternoon. Honestly even though it was in my travel mug, this was just what i needed when the day went a little haywire. I actually was sad and suprised when i emptied the travel much much too quickly haha. I’ll be sad when this one is gone from my cupboard as it might be one of my favourites from last year. I just really like the cola, and the ginger adds a nice dimension without being the main flavour……even if i do love me a lot of ginger :)
So sad…all gone. My other cup of tea from today. Nothing much to say besides a plea for Anne to make another vanilla tea ha!

You’re Assuming I can’t get in a few more sipdowns before 5 show up. Truth, variatea also has some samples for me and I think Terri is also working on a box. I’m just happy my weight is getting closer and closer to being under 1kg

You need to use a little more leaf in this one because of the amount of spice in it – treat it like you would a chai and brew it with more leaf to get a proper flavor. :)
(Instead of 3g for a 12 ounce cup – you should go with at least 4.5g or 5g.)

I am curious about this one. It could go either way for me. I am certainly open to this combination of flavours and wholeheartedly support Anne’s creative impulses and blending approaches. Still thinking.
And yes, I love that Anne continues to be embedded in the community. Even more reason to adore her.
