Cool ‘stachio! There’s nothing quite like a bowl of ice cream. Even Roman emperor Nero couldn’t resist its frosty deliciousness. Legend has it he used to send runners into the mountains for snow, which was then flavoured with fruits and nuts. Though he had the right idea, it seems he was missing a key ingredient – pistachios. Sweet and salty, pistachio ice cream is just one of those desserts that keep us coming back for more. And with this nutty blend of black tea and crunchy pistachios, you’ll definitely want two scoops.

Ingredients
Apple pieces, black tea, sliced almonds, pistachios, sweet blackberry leaves, natural and artificial pistachio cream flavouring.

Dry leaf: Dried apple, almond and pistachio mixed with black tea and blackberry leaves.

Liqueur: Creamy orange colour. Fragrant pistachio and almond with sweet cream aroma.

Flavour: The creamy flavour carries the fragrant pistachio flavour very well as they hit the palate simultaneously. An almond aroma helps heighten the nuttiness in the blend. Very smooth texture and rich body.

Flavors: Creamy, Nutty, Smooth

It smells really lovely – in the bag and fully steeped – but oh how I wish apples weren’t the first ingredient. Like with Peanut Butter Cup in the fall, the apple pieces have completely overwhelmed the other ingredients. It’s nutty and the pistachio flavor is there but only just. The tea has a nice creamy quality and (thankfully) I don’t find that it’s as tooth-achingly sweet as Raspberry Cream Pie. Other folks have likened it to Toasted Walnut, and I can certainly understand why. It does have the same nutty, sweet, un-spiced flavor profile. I’m not blown away. I need more pistachio and less apple. I might give it a go as a latte another day and decide whether or not it’s something to add to my collection.

This tea is very nutty and creamy, it’s delicious. It has a black tea base but there isn’t a lot of black tea in it, it’s mostly nuts and other tings; therefore the caffeine content would lower than your typical black tea. I wish there was more pistachio flavor. It honestly reminds me of Toasted Walnut but I don’t have any more available to compare the two.

I had this as a tea latte today and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Creamy and slightly nutty, this really fits the bill. The nuts aren’t hugely in your face, but I kind of like that. I picked up 3 100g tins of tea today because it was buy two get one free (not that I needed more tea, but I did well on some tests so I figured I could treat myself) and I’m kind of sad I didn’t get this as one of them (wasn’t willing to risk it on a tea I’ve never tried). Though I did get Coconut Cream Pie instead, which does make a pretty killer latte.

I forgot about my tea steeping while I was studying and ended up steeping this one for about 9 minutes before I remembered to stop it. I suppose because it was a black tea it didn’t really spoil the flavour all too much, as it was only a bit stronger than i normally like it (recommended is 4-7 minutes anyway). The aroma of this tea gets me every time – from when I open the jar to when I’m sipping it. It’s got such a creamy relaxing taste and the sweet smell definitely puts me in a good mood to study.

Cold Brew Sipdown (113)!

Definitely disappointed right now; this was the tea from the Spring Collection that I was sure I would like but out of all of the ones I’ve had so far (everything but Monk’s Blend) it’s my least favourite. I don’t know how exactly, but it manages to be even sweeter than Raspberry Cream Pie and sugar is literally an ingredient in the latter!

It’s nutty, but not distinctly pistachio so that’s disappointing. Combine that with the cloying level of sweetness and I’m just turned off. Only thing this has going for it is that it’s creamy, like ice cream, but that’s simply not enough.

Boo…

For me, this tea was not particularly sweet—not compared to the common DT level anyway. Perhaps all my sugar is waiting for me in the next cup.

Kristal

Glad I only tried Monk’s blend…the agreement is the other teas are too sweet!

Going through a stretch of feeling poorly, so as today the temperature has decided to dive towards freezing again and as I will have to be some kind of productive this weekend, I am at home in my pyjamas drinking all the teas and eating all the things and staying warm and otherwise doing little. Hopefully, my resting is going to produce some energy to carry me through the necessary activities of the weekend. Here’s hoping.

This one is ok. I pulled it out because I had likely already reached my capacity of caffeine for the day unless I rally in the next hour or so and this one doesn’t have all that much actual tea in it. Nothing more to add aside from what I’ve already said.

Indigobloom

I hope you feel better soon!!

Thank you. <3

Super Starling!

I love this one, actually, and hope it returns. I’m one sachet away from a sipdown and so depressed. I hope it gave you strength! Feel better!

This tea is on the inconsistent side in that I’ve had it twice now and it was different both times in terms of sweetness. The dry leaf smells creamy and sweet, very similar to pistachio ice cream. There isn’t a whole lot of tea leaves in here so don’t expect to taste much in that department. The first cup I had was on the weaker side and tasted light and creamy with a prominent pistachio flavour. It was tasty, and if I could have it taste like that but a little stronger, I’d give this an 80-range rating.

The second cup was a different story, understandably because the shrapnel which contributes to its sweetness settled on the bottom and thus, I ended up with more concentrated sweetness in my mug. The nuttiness was substantially weaker and even the creaminess was ghostly pale. I added some milk to try to cut that sweetness and attempt to bring the nuttiness back to life but it didn’t do much. This second cup would get a rating in the 60s.

As a heavy tea with inconsistencies in flavour, I won’t repurchase, which is sad because it smells promising. Oh well.

Shrapnel, lol.

Pistachio ice cream tea is sweet and creamy. When you’re craving dessert but don’t want the calories, this tea is just what you need. I enjoyed it from the first sip. Another definite recommendation.

oh man…if this wasn’t so sweet, it’d be pretty good. I love the pistachio flavour, but then you’re hit with a whole wackload of sweetness, that i suppose it meant to emulate ice cream but just makes this too sweet. It’s also hard to believe that this is a black tea because i don’t really taste the base at all. it’s not as over the top in the sweetness department as the raspberry cream pie thank god, but i would ADORE this if it were less sweet.
