I’ve had a yerba mate blend once before and I remember that I didn’t like it very much, but I’m actually pleasantly surprised by this one. The fragrance of the dry tea is an herbaceous mint. There are whole flower buds mixed in with the chopped mint leaves and woody rooibos. The liquid looks like that of a straight mint tea, maybe a little lighter, and the taste is mint as well. I can definitely feel the caffeine, even after just a couple of sips.

Second Steep
8 ounces water + 175 degrees + 5 minutes, 30 seconds

I’ve read online that mate can be re-steeped several times, but I’m not sure how well the rooibos and mint will hold up. There is still flavor here though the mint is lighter.

Love this tea. Very delicate, very relaxing. Tastes a bit like honeysuckle, but that isn’t a bad thing at all. I like mixing it with MEM’s chamomile sometimes.

Pure chamomile flowers. Most of the flowers are hole. I did not do a bagged version. I bought a big spice container full of it. It’s good for drinking at night. The liquor brews out in a light goldish yellow color. The smell is floral sweet but subtle and smooth. The taste is sweet, smooth, floral, maybe a bit herbaceous, maybe a slight nutty flavor. This is another tea I have grown to love.

This tea is very fresh and crisp. You can taste hints of light floralness. It steeps quite well and the leaves look beautiful.

I decided to polish off my tin of this since the fall teas are in stock and I can refill it now. Normally I just drink this with just a bit of honey, but today wanted to try something a bit different. I’d hoped to make an almond milk latte of some sort with it, but was out of almond milk. So I started making it like I normally do, only to have the epiphany midway that I had some almond milk in the camper fridge. … Well, I wasn’t far off mark, it was actually coconut milk (it said ALMOND FRESH and then quietly below “coconut milk”. Bastards!) So I kinda winged it. I added about 1/2 tsp of brown sugar and frothed up the coconut milk. It was about 1:3 coconut milk to water. Yumm! I don’t know if I can go back to having this without the additional coconut milk, it added some dimension that I hadn’t really realized it was lacking before. Delicious! Still wanna try with the almond milk though.

I like Thai iced tea – no milk – but I’ve never gotten it for home use before. It’s really tasty.

Tried the tea again, but with half-and-half with sugar this time. Still a very mild tea with little to no bitterness, but a currant flavor seems to come out a little more when you add dairy. Steeped it a little longer since I like my tea a little stronger so it might be overpowered by the cream and sugar if it isn’t steeped long enough.

This one definitely has a more flowery smell and taste than the Wild Arbor Oriental Beauty Oolong.

I bought a box of this when these tisanes first came on the market, and I still have this one, which tells you something. It’s a bit like broth. In fact, maybe this tea would be better as a base for a soup. I think that’s how I’ll attempt to use the rest of the box. It’s not cutting it as a tisane.

Milder than expected. However, very refreshing. Good for the bloated tummy :)
