545 Tasting Notes
i got this sample thanks to Sil!
i will probably try to buy some.
it reminds me of the Mariage Freres Macaron tea. something about the perfumey scent it gives off dry.
i had one cup. and then my sister came down from her room and we had another cup right away.
and then i cradled the last of the un-brewed leaves in my hands like a baby bird.
a slice of orange in my tea sounds nice to me!
a delicately citrusy cup.
thank you Sil for the thoughtful sample!
i personally think this tea is fairly dull for such a bold and jittery character. but it’s a drinkable tea.
there are may be something like 4 boxes of tea i should be putting together and mailing out but all i keep doing is reading in my room and ignoring all my responsibilities. and tea sample mailings is one of those responsibilities i’m ignoring evidently.
okay so i drank this days ago. it was my first tea on a saturday morning. fruity and caffeinated. perfect for breakfast don’t you think?!
i like a few of the berry teas i received in swaps a little more than this one, but it’s still a bright cup. i’ll drink it again soon.
oh my, Scheherazade my sister is an earl grey fanatic. so i gleefully brewed this up to surprise her.
got out the nice tea cup set.
even got out the little spoons.
i like this tea for it’s balance of boldness and subtlety.
my sister once accused me of never buying earl greys. i said ‘of course not, that’s what you’re for!’.
but i would buy this one, i really would.
now back to my fic in which iron man proposes to captain america. dingaling wedding bells dingaling.
so many of my swap samples are green teas that i just assumed this was a green tea. but it’s SO NOT a green tea.
did i tell you i love tulsi?! i do i do i really do. i can’t explain why, it has a subtle tonic taste to it maybe? herbal and fresh? anyways, this is a roasted maté & tulsi blend and it is just plain old sparkling in my mouth!
i’m sure the peppermint and safflower add to that sensation to. no doubt. but this is earthy and herbaly and balanced.
what a great surprise cup. i only steeped it for 3 minutes instead of 5. i’ll try it longer next time, but i like it this way too obviously.
thank you so much KallieBoo!
stay up until 2am reading fic = cheesecake matcha for breakfast
everybody knows that.
thank you CHAroma!! this was cursing good!!
(i wonder how much longer i’ll be able to hold off ordering some matcha for myself)
it’s so light, am i even holding this cup of tea? i think it’s floating away! wafting on the wind!
if i get too excited i may accidentally crush it’s wispy thin cup!
it’s such a delicate flavor that i needed to drink it with a fresh morning palate to really grasp the details.
a vegan pub here has bbq jackfruit sandwiches on the menu often. it’s mostly used because the texture is interestingly meaty for a fruit. its fruit is the largest tree-borne fruit that exists i think. basically it’s tropical and weird. maybe it’s like a really bland pineapple? not really. nevermind.
point is this tea is very subtle but definitely breezy and mangoey and barely even has that greenness. no dryness. no bitter notes. barely any even grassy notes. i’m feeling enthusiastic about this tea.
it’s like holding a baby kitten.
thank you moraiwe for this orchid of a tea.
this is certainly a blackberry tea. it’s tea first but definitely still blackberries.
I know moraiwe likes this tea iced, and MAYBE i’ll try that, but i’m not really an iced person.
i will say that i drank this tea yesterday and today both and it went down easily, and the scent lingered for a noticable while, and i liked it, but still found it hard to write about i guess.
thanks for the sample!
i got a small sample bag of this so i could keep tinkering with my personal sherlock blend. but i put one scoop aside so i could try it straight.
not the best lapsang i’ve had. but still smokey and sweet all at once. not bad not bad at all. just a little flat in comparison to the possibilities. but i wouldn’t be surprised if i ordered the sample size of this the next time i place an order.
