Okay…let me tell you about this morphing aroma here, folks! It’s truly an adventure!

DRY – prior to infusing – this smells like Lemon Pie…not meringue but a crusty pie and I can also smells a little cream or vanilla happening here. Now…as it infuses it smells a lot like Lemon Pledge. BUT…after the infusion is complete…it smells like a yummy sugary lemon – almost like lemon drop candy – and cream!

And that’s just the aroma adventure!!! Now…on to the taste…

It’s very smooth and velvety. It’s a nice creamy lemon flavor – very unique and tasty! I really like this! VERY Creamy! YUM! My fave one from Joy’s Teaspoon so far!

Nichole made me drink this today…she virtually twisted my arm via gchat! LOL

This is really FAB…Very wonderous! I have to increase to a 100. I don’t have many 100’s but I can’t deny the score any longer

(previously a 98)

Already going thru withdrawal…sigh…

The 4 cups I had earlier today were AWESOME tho! See my previous notes!

Its yummy but I don’t think I am in love with it as much as others are. Its still a dang fine tea though and I feel that Joy’s makes all their teas of the best quality! I just wish it was a tad sweeter. To me it smells a bit better than it tastes yet it does have a very very creamy mouthfeel and an EXCELLENT natural lemon flavor!
I think this would be AMAZING iced with some raw sugar.
YES I AM capitalizing things a lot in this review for some reason.
I also realized I have not had ANY caffeine today!
Hummmmmm time for something with a little “ZEST” to it haha see what I did there?
I too agree with what someone else said (apologies to the person who’s name I can’t recall) this tea is not really ZESTY more sweet and creamy.
Its very nice and I will be ordering some!

My daughter and I made lemon cupcakes with buttercream frosting thinned a little with fresh lemon juice.
Instead of adding water to the cake mix (yeah we didn’t go homemade we took the lazy way out) we added this tea.
Let me tell you these are the best cupcakes E V E R.
Like fluffy airy clouds of melting lemon yumminess floating on your taste buds.
Yay for Lemon Zest!
:)

Something about this didn’t sit right with me. It’s got a lemon flavor, but doesn’t really seem like a real lemon flavor/smell. It’s oddly flat, making it seem fake. I think some of that comes from the earthy, sweetness of the rooibos, but still kinda weird. It feels like it’s sitting between the two different teas that it should be but can’t make up its mind, so it hangs out in the middle not really embracing any flavor.

Holy sweet Margie Mother of Buddha, you can tell what you’re getting into by smell alone. It smells like lemon pie. I LOVE lemon pie. I also love honeybush and rooibos blended together. Add lemon and you have a happy me. I could go into the subtleties of this blend, but there are none, by golly. It’s loud and it’s proud. Sweet without needing sugar, citrusy without overdoing it. It’s herbal infused perfection.

I can best describe this as sweet, creamy lemon. It is amazingly delicious. Thank you Joys Teaspoon for sending me a sample. I may have to make this a permanent addition to my extensive collection.

Received a sample of this from Naomi, thank you! This is a blend of rooibos and honeybush. There’s also lemon bits and pretty cornflower blossoms throughout. It smells like sweet lemons and vanilla cream with delicate herby notes.
The website recommends using 1 teaspoon per 6 ounces of water. I steep in increments of 8 ounces, though, since I always use my Breville. (The minimum amount of water necessary to make tea is 16 ounces for the Breville One-Touch tea maker.)
So I steeped 1 1/2 teaspoons per 8 ounces, at 205 degrees, (Joy’s Tea recommends steeping in the range of 203-212 degrees for this particular tea,) for 6 minutes to get the maximum flavor.
Steeps to an amber liquor. Smells just as beautiful as it did dry. Tastes lovely! This is the smoothest lemon tea I’ve ever had. It’s very naturally sweet. The texture is satisfying. The scent of the dry leaves didn’t carry over as boldy into the steeped tea as I thought it would, and I’d probably like it a wee bit bolder, but this is very enjoyable. It’s like the sweetheart of lemon teas. I feel like maybe it’s not named correctly, like the name should hint at it’s creamy humbleness. It really is a great balance of sweet and tart, with the perfect amount of herbiness and a smooth creaminess that makes it a mellow lemon tea easy to fall for.

naomi at joy’s Teaspoon is a devil in disguise. She starts off nice enough, sending you cute little samples for free, but then you’re hooked. Then you need to jusy BUY SOME MORE, MAN! Then your stuff arrives and you can’t wait to smell and drink it, but oh look! Another little sample…It’s vicious.

Obviously, my little sample was Lemon Zest. Now, it’s spent the last two weeks travelling around with Wellness and Ruby Red so you knew it was going to be awesome, because that sort of thing rubs off on you. Smells divine, tastes delicious. I get a strong vanillaish lemon meringue pie vibe from this tea. It comes in really soft on the sip, with what I think of as the typical yummy rooibos flavour, but it leaves a sharper lemon taste at the end of the sip. I love it. I’m already plotting my next order. There’s a sale this week, it’s perfectly reasonable! Plus, I got the new position I wanted, so I’ll be able to drink more tea and be happy.

Naomi, you sneaky minx, I love this!

Oh my heaven, have I ever under-appreciated this tea! The beau and I have been turning to this a lot lately as a pot to enjoy together. I find it delicious and sweetly lemon, more lemon cream pie than lemon zest – and I like that. For my Canadian friends, this reminds me of Honey Bee from Davids Tea in some ways, though obviously non-caffeinated. Caffeine doesn’t bother me one way or another, but I like the rooibos base (no bitterness, huzzah!) Highly recommended and one of the rare teas I am actually increasing the rating on after having enjoyed it for a few months. I bought the biggest tin available of this (6 oz) when I placed my order, and for once I don’t regret it – this is fabulous!

Mmm, in the tin it smells creamy dreamy vanilla lemon pie wonderful! This smell doesn’t translate quite as strongly to the cup, but the flavour is still a lovely vanilla tinged lemon pie, not sharp, bitter or lemon peel-like at all. I haven’t had this treat in a little while, but it is great to return to on an early Monday morning. The sun has almost started getting up at the same time as me, and with a pot of lemon zest beside me, all is right in the world. Well, in my living room. The poor world is actually in much worse shape.

Brought a big mug of this to work with me, to get me through my morning. i persist in getting a vanilla-ish lemon taste, not quite like a lemon meringue, as it lacks the sharpness I associate with true lemon. The rooibos background gives it a natural sweetness, and provides an enjoyable cup that requires no extra attention. Perfect!

I couldn’t resist. This is sweeter than the honeybee from DT, without that weird aftertaste. Of the two, this remains my favourite, so far. Good thing, since I have like 5.5 oz left of it. Sweet creamy rooibos with a hint of sweet lemon, no rind or bitterness to be found, really. Delicious!

My tea arrived!

I still get a sweet lemon flavour (if that makes sense) but this was perfect for me and my cold. I still can taste things (I think!) but the lemon was a little mild and nice for my throat. Yay!

Second steep came out much more lemoney. Once again, Joys Teaspoon provides great taste value. I brewed two cups out of 1 teaspoon, and I am on my second steep (making 4 cups out of 1 tsp!) The strength of flavour is unbelievable. I lot of the creamy flavour is lost on this steep and I get more lemon. Still lovely!

Ohhhhh my my my. This is pure velvety heaven. Thank you Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon for this fantastic tea! Opening the 6oz sample – yum. I am a Respiratory Therapist and I don’t like the smell of cigs, but have you ever smelled a very fine vanilla tobacco? Add a sweet lemon dash and this is it!! Steeped for 4 then 5 mins per instruction. I prefer 4. At 5 I was worried it was borderline Lemon Pledge tasting. This tea is a mixture of creamy white cake and lemony goodness. Don’t get me wrong it is not overly sweet, it just makes you think of caaaakke. Strange note, it was hard to keep hot. Weird. But no matter the temp, I feel it would be terrific. Oh I am so ordering this again. Soon and a ton of it.

This tea has SUCH a strong lemon dessert scent! It smells like a lemon bar or a frosted lemon sugar cookie. Delish! The taste is a bit more toned down.. but still good. It’s a tiny bit tart, quite sweet and a little bit creamy. This is a great lemon dessert tea! Thank you Naomi!

This is the tea I am currently sipping! The lemon taste is fresh and not sweet but not sour. The tea is not overpowered by the lemon. I have this tea brewed cold in the fridge right now but I also love it hot.

Cleaning today and needed something to make the process suck less. I do love this tea and it is perfect for a day like today where I need to sip, swiffer, sip, scrub and repeat. What I especially love about it is that if it chills from sitting it still tastes good. Also I have rebrewed once and it is still going strong. Well, this did not take long enough…now what to do to avoid the next chore?

Nearly as good as Della Terra’s Lemon Chiffon, which is saying something coming from me…gets the creamy sweet lemon thing right in the same way (smells wonderful dry and brewed), smooth, not too astringent. The one tiny edge DT Lemon Chiffon has over this is that it has more of that buttery lemon bar crust element than this does (not surprising or a failure on its part really, as the name doesn’t indicate anything about trying to taste like lemon pastry). But the mouthfeel and flavor and aroma are scrumptious. And something it provides that Lemon Chiffon doesn’t, for better or worse, is a transformation as you finish the cup: as it cools, it gets less rich and more astringent, more like the puckery juiciness of straight lemon zest (yay accurate naming), though never reaching an unpleasant point. I do enjoy teas that change throughout the experience of the entire cup provided I like all the steps involved, and I do here, so it’s fun. The aftertaste/mouthfeel finishing the cup is more like you’ve been drinking uber-fresh lemonade or ODing on lemonheads than eating a lemon bar, fresher, intenser, more immediately lemon-y, less sweet. The lemon flavor lingers vividly in the mouth for quite a long time afterward too, complete with the oiliness (might sound bad but is great). I welcome both types of lemon experiences.

I’m going to think of this as a very decent back-up plan or occasional substitute for novelty’s sake, something I could order if for some reason DT ever didn’t have Lemon Chiffon available (the horror!).
