In between some work and wanted to make a quick note on this one.
I have to first state I have been so sick of honeybush and red rooibos for ages now HOWEVER I really would like to get a decent nights sleep (not gonna happen) and I only have a little more work to do before I can attempt that. Caffeine does not tend to keep me awake – its ME that does – my mind does not slow down. Regardless I figure I may just not tempt fate tonight. Besides I really did want to try this.

So … its quite lovely. Taste like creamy smooth lemon! It also tastes like honeybush though. Its not that I do not like honeybush its just that I don’t really care for the way it tends to change the flavors that I keep wanting to have in a black, or green, or white, etc…

Della Terra does 95% of their teas to perfection and those that are not perfection they re-blend until they are. I totally respect that.

I would not say there is a thing wrong with this tea and am giving it the rating it deserves even if I am snubbing my nose at honeybush and red rooibos right now.

Does anyone else watch Hart of Dixie? I’ve just started. So there is this character, Lemon… who I want to like, I’m waiting to like her, but she has a few thorns in her backside making her lash out at people. She is a real dixie belle, so this tea kinda reminds me of her. or atleast the name does. Chiffon and lemon, what’s more deep south than that? ahhh I heart that show!
Anyhow, I loooooove this tea. Yessum I sherley do! Thank you SO much Azzrian for sharing, you are a generous tea godmother for sending some rooibos gold to me :D
It tastes just like lemon custard/pudding. Or rather, a cross between the filling in a danish/donut and pudding. It even has that pudding factor that made me fall for Sweet Temptation from Tsaa. Texture, flavour, complexity. Oh man I am SO making an order of this. Soon as I cut down on my current stash AND get a job. Might be awhile, I hope to the tea gods it isn’t discontinued by then

I’m having this hot with some milk after eating a marshmallow chocolate noodle dessert monster. All of my senses are temporarily shot from a sweetness overload.

I’m mainly picking up honeybush and cream with a lemon hued finish. Texture: First part flaky pastry then a jam filled second part. I can’t taste the rooibos.

I’m indifferent to rooibos, and am not generally a fan of honeybush but this is a solid blend with a great aroma. The lemon is a buttery frosting kind, and not at all a pointy “cleaning” variety of citrus. That in itself is a nice change from the citrus infused teas and tisanes I normally drink.

With every sip I’m growing fonder of it. I’m sending the rest off into the chaotic realm of the Christmas-impacted post office, but I would definitely think of ordering another bag of this.

I’ve been busy enjoying Christmas festivities so I haven’t had much chance to write many tealogs lately. But when my Della Terra teas order arrived in a festive red box, I just had to log in and write at least a few lines. Besides, I miss checking in with my Steepster friends :)

Lemon is one of those flavors that I enjoy, but it isn’t necessarily my absolute favorite, so I didn’t have high expectations for me liking this tea. It’s pure lemony goodness, not so much the sour natural lemon taste, but more like a lemon extract, but creamier. Even when I first caught a whiff of this tea it immediately made me think of lemon cake, which is remarkable because I actually didn’t even know that lemon chiffon was a cake until after I tasted this tea and then I decided to look it up.

I only have a couple of samples of this tea from my try me packs, but it is definitely something I would reorder.

Tastes like a lemon dessert, which really isn’t my favorite flavor, but this tea somehow still impresses me. It’s not something I’d drink regularly, but it’s a nice treat on occasion.

I think Azzrian gave me whatever bug it was she had heh Either that or I managed to dance and sing way too much on friday and now i’m paying for it. So much for going to the gym today. Instead it’s going to be tea, tea and more tea….followed by some sleep

As for this tea, it’s a pretty decent lemon tea. Not lemon like the fruit, but more like the lemon squares, so there’s a touch of artificial to this, but it’s in the kind of baked goodies sense of that. So it’s still pretty delicious. Also, it’s not sour…but it’s not exactly sweet either. just lemon square. lol

sipdown! 231 teas and counting! I’m beginning to think i might prefer the lime chiffon over this one but i’m not entirely sure. i meant to do a side by side comparison but totally forgot. maybe next time heh.

SIPDOWN!

Though I may need to restock this as it’s pretty enjoyable. Had some of this tonight while on the phone for work with China. Yeah that’s right…I’m going to china for work! lol Not for a little bit, but i’m hoping that I can have at least one night out to go exploring to fine at least ONE tea shop while i’m there. :) In any case..tried to have some low caffine options tonight since i really need sleep tonight since work has been stupidly busy this week!

So i wanted to try this again today in order to compare it with one of the teas i received in my swap. I am still digging the lemon creaminess of this one, though i still need to do a comparison with lime chiffon to see which i like better. This one is both lemoney and creamy and it’s great that it’s a rooibos blend :)

Backlog!

Cold brew from yesterday and man this was tasty! It really like this tea brewed cold, though hot isn’t so bad either :) I like the way it’s like a creamy lemon cup of delicious but not overly sweet. It’s not a lemon tea..but really, it’s lemon chiffon :)

Mmmmm evening sip of lemony goodness while we game for a bit.

i love lemon teas. and Della Terra sent this sample along with my last order so i was jazzed to try it.

it didn’t do much for me. but i feel kinda certain that it was me and not the tea. or maybe i missed the shinny tartness in the lemon. or maybe i should have added milk to enhance the cakeyness. or maybe i should have used more leaf. or maybe i could have tried it iced. or waited until summer. but despite all i maybe could have done differently, for some strange reason i wasn’t interested in trying again. and i just gave it to my sister. because i love my sister. and my sister loves tea. and she needed more herbals.

While Steepster was on the fritz a bit earlier I drank this one and did a full review that will be LIVE over at Sororitea Sisters after 6pm tonight… http://sororiteasisters.com/2012/08/21/lemon-chiffon-from-della-terra-teas/

I’ll give you a heads-up…I really liked it!

Sipdown, and thank you to Courtney!

I’m happy I was able to try this because I tried Lime Chiffon and Lemon Lime Tart but not the original. I have to say that the Lime Chiffon is by far my favourite. I’m just a bigger fan. The Lemon IS good though, and I can see why people enjoy it. Now I no longer have to wonder about it!

Lemon-y goodness, yum!

I picked this as another thing to try from Della Terra recently. Rooibos & Honeybush blends can be very “iffy” but I do tend to like lemon flavored things.

I steeped this for around 5 minutes and added soymilk, perhaps I am weird but I drink practically all my rooibos and honeybush tisanes this way. This really reminds me of a lemon bar, it’s slightly sweet, lemony and tart and with a nice “creamy” quality which is certainly helped along by the soymilk. I’m actually puckering up a bit… ha ha

This is good, I’m enjoying it! It’s better than I thought it would be and will probably help me kill some after lunch/dinner dessert cravings. Another nice offering from Della Terra.

Thank you yappychappy!! I love the smell of this one. Like lemons and cream :] I am really in the mood for something sweet and this was perfect. It’s so smooth and creamy. I feel like I’m drinking a lemon cookie. YUMMMMMMM

Sipdown tea #1!

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tisane to try. I loved how good it smelled – it made me think of freshly baked lemon bars … and just remembering how good it smelled is making my mouth water.

Here is my full-length review of this tisane: http://sororiteasisters.com/2013/01/26/lemon-chiffon-from-della-terra-teas-2/

oh lemon, my mom & I make these lemon squares that are so good.
and my local tea house carries these ridiculously amazing lemon squares omg. they are my weakness.
this tea smells just like bakey, lemon goodness.

I thought I had reviewed this the first time I drank it… oops must have forgot. I received this in one of my orders as a sample. I’ve ordered from Della Terra about 3 times in 3 months. Love them!!!
this isn’t quite as tart & lemony as the first time I had it, probably not even leaves.
I’m not sure I get a whole lot of bakey goodness in this one, more like a creamy lemon.

this is part of my sipdown which I was suppose to do yesterday, but hey I was dying in hangover city & although the tea would have helped I had no energy to make any.

Courtney

This is the first rooibos without ANY hint of a medicinal taste! Not even a hint. YES!

Thank you jessiwrites for this awesome sample, you’re too good to me :) I’d like to try Lime and Lemon Chiffon next to one another to see which I prefer. I do have some Lemon Lime Cream Tart I may get to later to at least try that against this lovely. I can see this being a permanent part of my collection.

Just steeping a second infusion, I may add milk this time to see what happens.

I enjoyed half of my second cup straight, then added some milk. It really doesn’t taste all that different to me, just slightly subdued at most. I think I’ll be enjoying this sans milk from now on since it’s delicious that way.

The third steep of this is still just as delicious. Perhaps this could be steeped forever?

Update March 27/13: jessiwrites was awesome and sent me some of this AND Lime Chiffon AND Lemon Lime Cream Tart to hold me over until the next Della Terra order. And it was waiting for my in my mailbox after a frustrating day at school. Ahh yum :)

First tea I’m trying from my Try Me pack!

I thought this might work as an iced tea, so I gave it a shot. I’m amazed my parents haven’t bought milk lately…the carton in the fridge has a sell by date of August 10 sooooo I am not touching it. I think that would make this even better.

I’m still not used to iced red rooibos/honeybush so this isn’t omg good to me. The flavor is mostly the base teas, with a nice touch of lemony goodness and just a hint of cream. I added agave but it doesn’t seem like it made any difference.

It does remind me of lemon cookies, I’ll try it hot next time. But I think it definitely works as an iced tea if you like iced honeybush. I want to acquire the taste already! I have a few other honeybush and honeybush/rooibos blends I want to try cold but I can’t get much beyond honeybush.

OK…sample sipdown!
This is an interesting tea, tasty lemon pudding/cake flavored. I’m not a huge fan of rooibos, & I’m not really tasting it, so that’s a plus. I drank a lot of caffeine today, so I’m glad to have something that doesn’t pack a punch. Thanks, Sil, for sending me this sample! :)

Whoa WHOA!

Just made this iced (double strength over ice, honey and lemon slice for appearances) and WHOA! Creamy! Lemony! Smooth! Awesome! Delicious! Not rooibosy at all!

Need to drink this hot, I’m just short on non caffeinated tea. I’ll do a full tasting review at another time.

Just finished off the rest of this sample and I’m sad. Maybe that is an indicator that I should buy more on my next Della Terra order.

Love the lemon and creamy smoothness of this tea. This tea is amazing iced too! /sad now I’m wishing I made a pot of another rooibos tea I have more of instead of finishing this one.

I purchased this tea as a “rooibos sneaking into my cart”. I had this iced previously and it was AMAZING.

DRY: Smells like creamy lemon drops.. maybe even lemon icing.

STEEPED: Dark reddy rooibos. Creamy smell.

TASTE: Sweet lemon flavor with a delicious creamy taste at the end of sip. Not very funky rooibos taste, but the lemon and creamy works with it making the tea smooth and icing like. I don’t find LC tart, more of the tart essence of lemon, without the pucker.

Sweetened, this tea gets more creamy and mellow lemon. Takes like lemon cake! The rooibos / honeybush here tastes almost caramelly with the tea sweetened.

WHO SHOULD GIVE THIS A SHOT: lemon tea lovers – even if you aren’t into roobios, this is pretty non – rooibosy.

COMMENTS: Wow, this is still amazing hot! Though, iced the lemon and creamy is more pronounced. I’d say this is the best rooibos tea I’ve had, and thats coming from someone who isn’t a huge rooibos fan. So my tea peeps, next Della Tea order, totally sneak this into your Try Me pack!

Brewed this up in the Timolino at the boy’s house, and was quite pleased with it! A nice creamy rooibos with a hint of lemon. I seem to recall wishing for more lemon, but all the teas I drank in the last 24 hours are kind of blending together, so I’ll have to verify this later. It’s certainly not cleaner-like lemon though, which is always good!

Travel-mugged this one as well. Definitely more creamy today, so I’ll really have to repeat my comparison, and add Lemon-Lime Cream Tart in there too. Quite tasty though. I think that keeping one of these delicious citrusy-cream teas in my cupboard may be a necessity. Luckily(?) it will be a long time before I run out….

I swear I nearly died of anticipation while steeping this one. It just smells SO GOOD. With a taste to match. I think I like this even better than I did the first time. Delicious lemon, amazing creaminess. I can’t wait to try out the Lime Chiffon (although I haven’t yet ordered any…)

Yum. Still lemony and good, though not as creamy as last time. I actually prefer lime chiffon (but I prefer limes, so that’s hardly a surprise). These teas really are delicious :D

Thanks Stephanie for the sample!

It a good tea. I’m a huge rooibos guy and I love the taste of lemon in all teas. The lemon in this guy didn’t “wow” me but it was there. It’s a mellow evening kind of tea. I prefer my Lemon Dreams I think at night, but this guy would work in a pinch no problem.

This is probably my favorite blend with rooibos in it yet. It’s so lemony and creamy, with a really nice and cooling aftertaste. The lemon taste is a sweeter kind of lemon, not sour at all. I think it may be the honeybush in it that I’m liking – there’s just something about all the tastes that are blending together really well. It even seems to have a bit of toastiness to it, like a lemon-filled pastry. It’s smooth (and creamy) and very sweet on its own.

I’m really glad I was sent this as a free sample with one of my orders, since I’m not sure I’d have picked it on my own. But it’s quite delicious!

Another one of my many sample from Della Terra Teas i choose that one as a iced teas try after seeing so many good review but never happen to try it with the cold weather now the taste for iced tea is gone.

So last night I’ve gone out with friends to explore thing that enter the Strictly forbidden to enter old abandoned place category.

The exploring was fun but it was so so cold nearly -5 Celsius ( yeah that not so much for us Canadian but i was not dress for that low temp) after 2 hour of exploring i was cold to the bone and wet from water leak falling from the roof and a heavy headache i got to sleep at the second i enter my room but the damage was already done as i seem when waking up this morning after just 3 hour of sleep and feeling like another cold is on the way.

Searching through my stash for something with Ginger in it i put my hand on that one and said to myself eh why not i feel like drinking lemon. Holding that hot mug with my laptop on me and watching Supernatural while the divine smell getting to my nose is alone comforting i can’t really taste the cream flavor but i don’t really care this morning that one good and may get in my permanent tea stash i try to put in order ( i love sample but still want some everyday tea )

Another cup was in order this one with honey in a vain attempt to help my sore throat ( nothing beat ginger ) the honey do add a good taste and make the other flavor smoother
