The tracking on your last order says that it has left the LA facility (on the 10th!) so it must be stuck in customs? I’ll keep an eye on it – I hope it isn’t lost. :(
Oh I’m not worried about it. It hasn’t crossed over through customs….they’re having issues with customs so I just expect that’s the problem. It went back and forth across the country a few times lol
playing the sample game and can’t put some of these in until i know what the teas are haha
11th day – genmaicha….smells like alcohol, tastes more mapley
8th day – i think i’ve had this before…
9th day – smells like caramel..kinda reminds me of caramel cheesecake…
12th day – “holiday” tea…nuttier as it cools…
10th day – bananaaaaaa!

I’m kinda of cheating because i’m not adding all the samples VariaTEA sent my way to my cupboard until possibly January lol. Mostly because i’m hoping that I can finish most of them off by then. Instead i’m trying to work on a few sipdowns for the few teas that WILL be added to my cupboard, and because in theory SOME DAY….our 52 teas order will get here… sigh
I’ll have to re-order more of this in the new year. So tasty!
sample from last night to go along with the tea of doom. This one wasn’t bad – i rather enjoy the cremem brulee flavouring that AQ2T uses, though i had weird moments drinking this where it was a peppermint tea….then it was creme brulee..instead of it being a harmonious blend, it was much more one or the other. still tasty though!
alright…let’s DO this! Obviously i’m trying to ignore what others have said about this blend and see what i think. First off…initial dry smell… weird. truffleapplewoodsmokedbacon? yes i put those words together ‘cause it’s not quite bacon…sort of a melange of….everything. hmm…not too hopeful about this one.
Funnily enough if i stick my nose closer to the container, the aroma changes and it’s more, sweet..
brewed the aroma is still a little offputting. I let it cool until i could drink it and honestly? it just tastes like a smokey lapsang. I’m not getting anything here like banana or truffle. Disappointing but not vile. The smell is actually way worse than the brew. That being said, i expect WAY more from AU. Especially at their prices and the branding of being unique. There’s nothing unique about this tea except it’s smell.
if i had to rate it according to smell, it’d probably be about a 5. However as a brewed tea, it’s more like a 65, until you consider that it should be a lot more interesting than it is.
