I have been drinking Dragonwell for years now, I have decided to stick with this tea. The reason I have sticked with this tea for years is because it has a roasted flavor and is one of the aspects I like about Dragonwell. I wouldn’t recommend drinking this tea after 6pm because it does have caffeine and it can interfere with your sleep. If you love green tea this is a tea for you.
Preparation
So I’ve had the worst head cold the past few days so I havent really been feeling up to drinking anything hot other than, well, Neocitran. I found this in my cupboard the other day so I decided to make an iced tea today – there aren’t many I like iced so this was a pleasant surprise.
So this is really nice cold – the root beer flavour is really present, even the bite you get from the soda which is what I really like. Since a root beer float is root beer and ice cream… I decided to either make this great or gross: I added a tablespoon of coffee creamer and it was surprisingly delicious! And soothing on my sore throat. Just wish I had more of this.. only a couple cups worth left :(

Wow, I’ve never reviewed this tea? I guess it’s been a while since I had it: probably since before I had steepster!
I’ve been trying to use up my collection and have been avoiding purchasing new teas because of that. However, I had a free 50 gram bag of tea from my frequent steeper points at DAVIDs so I wanted to use up that offer before it expired; thus I got myself this very expensive and amazing tea (but I controlled myself in not buying any other teas!).
The Jasmine flavour is the dominant taste with a light green tea taste following. In generally this tea is very “light” and its quite delicious and it’s so nice to sit and relax while having a cup. I’m going to try and avoid bringing it to work because I believe it’s a tea one must sit and enjoy fully and not mindlessly guzzle while at work.
Even though this tea is nearly $20/50 grams, it makes up for it by the fact you can steep the leaves multiple times without loosing much flavour since the bundles slowly unravel with each steep (usually I can get 2-3 steeps out of it).

I got this one with my DAVIDs rewards, too (and the Grand Cru matcha). I basically just went for the most expensive teas that I wouldn’t spend the money on otherwise, and this ended up being a great choice.
I also usually get matcha with DAVID’s rewards too. However, the only time I ever use matcha is blended in with my morning smoothie and even so I’ve been trying to cut down on caffeine so I decided to stop doing that for the time being (unless I REALLY need a boost). I think this tea is pretty light on caffeine so I don’t mind having a cup of it :).
I haven’t been buying a lot of tea lately (as I mentioned) so I wonder if I’ll even get any rewards next quarter. I haven’t been trying really any of DAVID’s new or seasonal teas because they usually have artificial flavouring, candy and/or fruit bits and I’ve been getting out of those kinds of tea.
It’s hard for me to distinguish between this and Coconut Oolong – and both taste yummy! I don’t get to have white teas very often, which is a sad thing, as I really enjoyed this one. Very sweet with the coconut, but I added a splash of milk to make it little extra creamy. I hope this one comes back!
David’s Chocolate Chili Chai is the reason I joined Steepster … just to write this review. This tea is sublime! A little bit about my tastes: I drink coffee, love spicy foods, red wine, and chocolate. This tea is great first thing on a misty morning, or sitting at my desk on a winter evening watching the snow fall. It’s sublime. As I am writing this, I have finished my cup but the scent of this tea still lingers the air. David’s Tea should start making candles! Unbelievably yummy. Two things I would like to note: I used an 8 oz mug and I like a little more tea than the average bear: I use a tablespoon. The flavor makes the more rapid dwindling of my stash so worth it. I can always get more. And I will. :) A million stars.

I understand the appeal of this tea, and in theory – looking at the ingredients I should love it. But I don’t. I mean, it is nice – I get a subtle coconut flavour and a bit of vanilla and rum, but it just tastes artificial to me. I thought it might have been the way I steeped it but this is my fourth or fifth cup and it still doesn’t appeal to me. I’d have another cup if it was offered to me, but it’s not a tea I’d go to.
Wasn’t feeling the best today, pretty tired and have a sore throat to the point were it was annoying! Based on everyone’s reviews i thought this would be the perfect time to try this tea. Good call for sure, I only bought about 10-15 grams of this one, just enough to try it but I will defiantly be buying some more to have on hand for future sore throats. I didn’t like the smell of this tea at all, even after it steeped I had to throw the leaves out right away. The taste was berry and delicious but I can see how some reviewers called it medicinal or almost like cough drops, soothed my sore throat perfectly. The caffeine was a nice pick me up to get me through the rest of the day a little easier.

Sipdown!
I remember really liking this one when I first got into tea. It’s been my go-to morning tea for about two weeks now and I find that the first steep is too astringent for me. I don’t get chocolate and the raspberry just seems to contribute to the sharp taste. It’s too much … until I resteep it, at which point its much softer flavor-wise. I don’t get a lot of raspberry/chocolate, but it is smooth and sweet.

This magical tea is the perfect start to a cold Sunday morning! The aroma of mango and guava was so enticing, that I had to fight off my own dog from trying to drink it right out of my mug.

Preparation
I bought a small sample of this when I went in to grab some greens. I probably overleafed a bit because I had just finished a cup of under leafed, watery “movie night” so I thought I’d be on the safe side with the leaf. Sadly, I can’t finish the cup. Tastes like dishwater to me.
Today was unseasonably warm, so this one sounded just right. The blend smells just like key lime flavored pie or yogurt, as well as having a sweet preserved-fruit aroma coming from the pineapple pieces. The blend is pretty heavy on the fruit pieces and other non-tea ingredients, so I expected it to be fairly light. It brews up to a pale yellow-green color, and indeed the flavor and presence of the tea base are very unassuming. The lime flavor is definitely there, light and refreshing and not overly sweet. I keep telling myself that natural lime flavor probably doesn’t taste like that, but I can’t help but genuinely enjoy it. The very light creaminess helps round this one out nicely as well, it’s one of those rare dessert teas that manage to be both creamy and delicate. Thanks beelicious for the nice surprise!
I got 10g or so of this, because I was really nervous, given the reviews, but the smell in the store with the sample smelled intriguing.
I don’t know what to make of it. I’ll finish this cup, but I may set the rest aside and pass on at some point. But there is probably only one steep left and I might just save is and ice it.
I haven’t had a gyokuro-based green in a long time, and I wanted to try it to see if I liked it better then the senchas from DT. It doesn’t quite wow me as much as Sencha Ashikubo, but I did enjoy it better than I thought I would! Definitely a grassy taste, but not too powerful, from what I found. Again, if it wasn’t so darn expensive, I’d have this in my stash!
Only had a small sample of this when I dropped in to my store today, but it definitely intrigued me. I think I’m going to have to get a full cup to fully appreciate the taste, but I liked what I had. I never really thought about combining ginger and peppermint (with everything else that this blend has going for it).
One of my favourites from the winter collection this year! So delicious. Its fruity, sweet and such a good dessert tea. I actually cold steeped this in milk the other night… OH MY GOODNSS… AMAZING! I’m not a huge milk drinker, but with this tea steeped with milk I could drink milk all day. It was a sweet delicious milky treat!
Wishing I had bought more of this. I’m going to need to savour my 50g.
