drank Nutmeg Cream by Butiki Teas
2291 tasting notes

Two gigantic mug steepings of this already this morning. Both for hydration and caffeine.

I was at a conference yesterday, and over-caffeinated and under-hydrated! The conference was interesting, and I enjoyed the talks, but the food situation was terrible. Neither morning coffee nor lunch had anything gluten free when I made it to the tables – I was promised food, so I’m guessing that non-gluten-free jerks took what I could eat. 2nd coffee got me a Nanaimo bar (http://instagram.com/p/o6k_7-x5Bm/), and apparently dinner was good but I was exhausted so I left. (I also couldn’t trust any of the pre-dressed salads. Gluten is in everything, and they didn’t have ingredient lists for me!)

So the tea. I drank it so fast all I remember is thinking that it was soooo good. I love it with a bit of cream. Nice and assam-y, delicious nutmeg… it’s a total winner for me.

Flavors: Astringent, Creamy, Malt, Nutmeg

Goodness, I keep reading notes on all these delicious-sounding teas from Butiki! All I can say is, I’m going to have to make a sizable order from them someday soon. :D

OMGsrsly

I have some favourites, and other people have other favourites. :) This one, So Long and Thanks for all the Licorice (does not contain licorice root!), and Watermelon Xylophone are pretty much my favourites. I also like With Open Eyes and Root Beer Float and Birthday Cake. And then a bunch of the plain assams. Ok. That’s a lot. :)

That’s exactly what I mean! It seems like every time I hear about one of their teas, it sounds amazing. I’m not sure how I’ll ever decide when I do get around to making an order.

OMGsrsly

There was a group if us who did a massive order to pretty much try everything.

Aww, no fair! Too bad I hadn’t found this community yet at that point, that’s a very smart idea. Their prices aren’t too terribly steep, but I just bought some tea today so I’ll have to wait a while. :P

You’re in NY? So I don’t know the geography very well, but there’s a tea meetup posted in the discussions fairly regularly. It’s always fun to find local people and have tea with them!

I mostly drink black tea.

Also: A map of tea places in Vancouver. I’ve been to some of them, but not a lot. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
