This tea is pretty common at coffee shops here in Warsaw, and I had a pot of it this afternoon. For a bagged tea, it was actually pretty tasty. I know for sure that this is a Ceylon base, since the company makes a big deal about how their tea is 100% single-origin Ceylon. The bergamot was strong enough to be the main event, but not overpowering, and overall the flavor was fairly well-balanced.
A nice basic tea, and a decent option when on the go, but once again I’m finding it lacking a certain depth of flavor, as with the bagged Twinings EG I had earlier, though I do think I prefer this one of the two, probably due to the origin differences of the black tea base.
Preparation
I steeped this first in some water that was sitting out for a while (this is my first pure white tea and I didn’t want to, er, I dunno, burn it?), so the first liquor was subtly sweet and reminded me of Black Needles from DAVIDsTEA.
The second steeping was close to boiling and a much deeper yellowy golden liquor that was very pleasing. I’m trying to savour this one as it’s a bit pricey, but still around $1 per bag is not that bad when you compare it with anything from a take-out joint.
Preparation
So I have yet to try a Ceylon black tea that I really, really like – I think maybe it’s just one variety that doesn’t have the characteristics I’m looking for in my tea. I prefer a more full-bodied malty taste like Assam, or with some other interesting characteristics like Keemun or Yunnan Gold (Black Needles).
I can’t say it’s bad, but I can’t say I love it either.
Preparation
I am drinking this one as my afternoon pick me up at work today. It does the job pretty well. If you ever wanted to drink roses, this may be you tea. :) It also reminds me of turkish delight but it doesn’t have any orange or pistachio flavors, maybe it is just the vanilla making the rose taste sweeter.
Normally I get mostly rose from this tea but I have just hit my office jellybean stash and I am getting more of the vanilla notes. I take this tea plain but now I think I may have to experiment with sugar and maybe even milk in the future.
Preparation
I drank this one last night. It is very fragrant and lovely. The flavor and aroma is mostly rose but is is softened by the vanilla. The vanilla, to me anyway, didn’t really have a distinct note in the tea but didn’t make the tea any less good. I felt very spolied. It is a light tea.
Preparation
Agree with Veronica that it’s a mood booster… this rose tea is an elegant drink. It smells so fragrant and sweet that no matter how busy you are, you can’t resist the temptation to pause to enjoy it. I feel like a princess as I take a sip, even though I am rushing a report at home in my old pyjamas!!!
Preparation
Fair to middling supermarket-acquired tea; good tea bag, but the tea itself looked a bit broken (not whole tea leaves). Held up with milk and sugar, but didn’t have an especially pronounced, strong tea flavor or aroma. Would brew with a longer steep time in the future.
Preparation
Drank this tea the 5th time and I decide to up the rating a bit. I like this tea more and more – particularly the fact that it smells really sweet and enticing but the toffee flavour does not overwhelm the original flavour of black tea. A perfect balance! :)
Preparation
I thought the pure peppermint tea by Twinings was good, but it’s not until I tried this Arabian Mint Tea with Honey did I realize the true definition of “good”! When I opened the box I was already overwhelmed by the aroma of honey, which was sooooo lovely! The tastes of mint and honey in this tea are in perfect balance, so that it is neither overly minty/herbal nor overly sweet. It’s a tea great for cold evenings I think. Thanks Evil who bought me this tea! :)
Preparation
Tasting Notes Light brown-yellow with green nuances. Bright, breezy, effortlessly light and snappy yet with tannins of fortitude. Long lasting in aftertaste. Like Champagne made from cool climate grapes picked just before they get too ripe. An exquisite and alluring tea.
Preparation
I like this Dilmah tea. It steeps up to a dark down color with orange tints to it. This tea has a much cleaner taste than the other dilmah teas I have tried. It has no bitterness or aftertaste at all. It has a little astringency. It has a very nice flavor and a kick much like a mild assam tea. My wife likes this one as a breakfast tea as the assams that I have are much too strong for her.
Preparation
I steeped this tea for 1 minute longer today and the difference was very surprising. The tea is full bodied and tastes very much like an assam tea. Still no bitterness but a very clean tasting Ceylon tea. Nilgama makes a nice breakfast tea.
Preparation
This tea steeps up dark brown and the taste is basic ceylon to me. Its a nice tea with good flavor, not much bitterness, and just a little astringency. I just wouldn’t put it in the same category as the other two Dilmah teas I have tried. I do like it but it just doesn’t wow me at all. I would call this tea a basic breakfast ceylon to me. I’m not sure why Dilmah compares their teas to wine. To me wine and tea are as different as night and day. Of course I’m no expert and could be wrong (I usually am).
Preparation
I really like this tea steeped at 5 minutes. The tea is very aromatic and is slightly sweet. While the taste is intense and biscuity it also has a soft fruitiness to it. Still no bitterness even when steeped longer. One of the best bagged teas I have had.
Preparation
Dilmah’s teas continue to impress me. This tea steeps to a dark golden brown and is very biscuity. Its very dry and has an intense flavor almost like an assam tea. This tea has the pyramid bags and really expands when steeped. It has no bitterness but does have a little astringency. A very nice tea.
