Another tea from the tea box. There’s something about the cinammon orange combination in here that tastes a little like ground turmeric. Once I get past that, this tea is decent. The cinnamon is pleasantly spicy. The orange doesn’t appear so much in flavor, but more as a distortion of the cinnamon. I can’t taste the black base at all. To me, this tea is okay. The addition of the orange makes this tea taste a bit strange to me. I would choose a cinnamon-only black tea if I wanted something like this.

drank Earl Grey Moonlight by Adagio Teas

I was craving some earl grey since I finished my S&V decaf EG a few days ago. I received this one from meowster this summer. I’m trying it with milk and sugar. The flavor is pretty mild. Probably this is due to the age of the tea, but it definitely still tastes good. Like you can tell it’s earl grey, just with very muted flavors. I prefer to buy decaf since (in my opinion) the flavor doesn’t suffer too much, and I really can’t take very much caffeine. I’ll leave off a rating since, based on what other reviews are saying, I’m likely not trying this tea in its prime.

Chai from the tea box! Chai doesn’t usually excite me, but the smell often makes me give it a try anyway. I took the advice of…I don’t remember who from here, and I crushed up the cardamom pods before putting them in my infuser. So this tastes pretty strongly of cardamom, which is nice! There’s quite a bit of bitterness, but maybe that’s down to the way I steeped it. Anyway, I would say that this tea is more interesting than the average chai. I don’t find it to be at all spicy. This is best hot since it gets more bitter as it cools.

Tea box tea! I usually add milk to butterscotch teas, but this one doesn’t need it. The flavoring works really well with the white tea. The primary flavor is a light butterscotch. This is really nice, but it’s best warm. Nice and buttery.

ooh, I’ve had a hankering for a nice light butterscotch that isn’t overdone; this sounds like a good candidate!

Another lavender tea from the tea box – I’m not complaining! The main flavor is lavender with the bit of bitterness that lavender brings. The lavender flavor really lingers in your mouth. The black base definitely adds some complexity to the blend, but I’m not sure I would know it’s black tea if I hadn’t seen the leaves going in. So I like this blend, but I don’t like it better than S&V’s lavender lace, which is caffeine-free.

drank Tropical Sunset by Love Some Tea

From the tea box! The green is pretty mild with a tiny bit of bitterness. The fruit flavor is pretty light as well. I taste maybe papaya or mango. So if you like light fruity greens, this is a tea you would enjoy. They’re not my absolute favorite, but I’m still enjoying this one.

This is probably the best smelling tea from the tea box, so I had to try it! It reminds me of Harney’s hot cinnamon sunset flavor, but with a bit more complexity. The flavor is mostly cinnamon. Sugar makes the flavor pretty pleasant. While it’s tasty, it’s not really special enough to keep around. I think the Harney version is a little bit better, but I don’t even keep that one around anymore since I haven’t gravitated toward spicy teas lately.

I have Tea Chai Te’s rooibos version of the blend, which I really like. The rooibos base adds a bit of natural sweetness, I think, but it still has a quite bold cinnamon-orange flavor to it.

From the tea box! I usually really enjoy lavender teas, so I was looking forward to this one. I did a short steep, so I’m probably lacking a bit of flavor, but the primary flavor is a pleasant lavender with a little bit of other herbiness underneath. There’s a tiny bit of bitterness, which sometimes happens with this type of blend. So this is a decent lavender tea, but I have a few others on my shelf that I much prefer.

I steep my lavenders briefly too.

Tried a tiny bit of this from the tea box. I don’t normally drink straight tea, so my review for this is pretty meaningless. I did a short steep, so it wasn’t at all bitter. With a little sugar, it was pretty smooth and tasty. Tastes similar to other black teas I’ve had. Other than that, I can’t speak to its quality.

My only sample from the tea box for today! Now this is rooibos done right! One bag brewed a flavorful cup of tea. The rooibos flavor is pleasant and not at all woody or weird. There’s also a bit of vanilla. I like this one a lot! It’s very sweet and refreshing with some sugar.

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, D&D, hiking, travel, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender or chamomile), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
