This one really tastes like mango juice. I like it a lot, but it is SO expensive because it is so heavy. For 25 grams I got two iced teas out of it.
115 Tasting Notes
I’ve decided I really like this one iced. It’s light, fruity, and unique because of the bamboo base. I always got it as a to go cup cold, and now I have some at home. I want to turn it into a cocktail somehow, but I need to figure out what would go with it.
I agree with other reviews very fresh with strong honey notes. Great both hot and iced, nice with a splash of milk. Naturally sweet.
This is the perfect tea for making strawberry lattes! Yum! It reminds me of Davids Love Tea #7, but better and more creamy. It is creamy strawberry with a hint of chocolate. Too bad I am on a no tea buying hiatus or I would pick up 2 oz :(
Ok I’m calling it, this is the best tea Davids has come out with in a long long time. It has a crazy amount of depth to it. I love it hot, I love it iced, I love it in an iced latte (which I am drinking right now). I may bump birthday cake or pinapple oolong out of my top 3 davids. Its spicy, but its also lemony, it’s really something special. If you are a Davids fan, or if you just like flavoured teas, go pick this one up. I promise you it won’t disappoint, there are so many great ways to enjoy.
Oh and as far as steeping goes, I find its best to do a fairly short steep on this one. Not tooo short, and its a bit better than most of Davids whites, but you want to keep it under 3 minutes so that it doesn’t get bitter. Though even if I forget about it and it steeps way to long it is still good. BACK TO PAPER WRITING!!
This is a sweeter chai. I don’t know that it is anything particularly special, but I am enjoying it right now.
I am so happy that I managed to snag a bag of this on Frank’s first reblend this go round. It is the best of the three genmaicha’s people seem to be comparing (I have Smores and Browncoat as well). It tastes exactly like a sweet marshmallow square :) Yum.
Yum my 52 teas order arrived yesterday, so I am having this one as a latte this morning. It is quite delicious. Raspberry is one of my favorite flavours, and the creamy background that comes out when you steep it works really well. I wish this one wasn’t sold out :(
This was one of my go to morning teas for a few months. It tastes like strong lemon and green mate. If you like that, you will like this tea. Much sharper than a traditional lemon herbal.
I’ve kinda chosen to make this my spring black this year because 1) Pom Power isn’t really better with milk, and I love my morning latte 2) Most of Davids spring collection seems to be geared towards icing. But I really like this one! It goes with the coconut heavy-ness of the collection. SO I am enjoying a cup of it this morning and will probably get a tin soon :)
I agree with the other reviews of this tea, this is a mango breakfast tea. I don’t see how it is super pomagrantey. I would love to try Pom Power if anyone has any left because I feel like it would have a less dominate mango flavor.
I will echo TC by singing this teas praises. I love strawberry teas, I love flavored oolongs, so this one was love at first sight! I only did one steep yesterday (will try to resteep this afternoon) but the strawberry flavor was so fresh, and the smoothness of the oolong still comes through. I didn’t get much rhubarb but I think the tartness was there. Yum!
Omnomonom. This is my favorite Della Terra tea and the one that I have been waiting for as far as apple teas are concerned. Finished up my packet today, and will look at getting a larger pouch in the future. I like it best with some sweetener and milk. It makes a heavenly latte.
This is the first of a few tealogs I owe the lovely Rachel (who is currently and bravely without tea, keep up the spirit!) for the beautiful .5 oz samples she sent me after I won her blog give away last month.
I reached for this one this morning for my first latte of the day. Brewed it up with a bit of aguave and some frothed milk on top. And all I can say is, yum! Such a great idea mixing cinnamon with mint. I made sure not to oversteep so I can’t say how astringent the base was, but this is such a great Christmas tea. It reminded me of the flavors I like in the winter, and I can see the bite of this one being the perfect thing to enjoy on a cold day. I’m glad I tried this now when I still have an appetite for these flavors. Yum :)
I’ve had this one in my collection for a while, and am finally getting around to logging it/sipping down what I had left. It was given to me by a friend who thought it would be something that I would enjoy. Sadly, I wish I could say I liked it more than I do. It is playing study buddy tonight as I finish a term paper, but secretly I wish I had just brewed up my old late night friend the Skinny. Happy to be done the bag though as tomorrow the new teas come out and I have some nice space in my cupboard now :)
Last cup of the day! Way oversteeped on this one. I’m very fond of this one, thought it seems to get no love from the steepster community. Anyone else missing this one this year? I had to stock up before it went out of stock. I love the berry paired with the ginger. Perfect for spring/summer.
Sipdown again! I had this one while watching Once Upon a Time tonight which was sososososo GOOD! I love how fruity, hibiscusy, and cinnamony this one is. It’s great hot AND iced. One day I will get a tin of it.
Sipdown #8! I chose this one because I actually love it and needed to finish the bag so I can get a bit more to stash away for colds. It’s strong, spicy, and deliciously gingery. I think when I ever do get sick (knock on wood) this and Cold 911 will be my go to teas. Should I get 50 grams, or just 30 to have around for whenever I need it?
Sipdown #7! It needs to be colder out for me to fully enjoy this tea, but this is still a keeper. Sweet and sour deliciousness. This is my advent calendar sample but I still have a half a tin of this to keep me until next Winter.
Sipdown #6?!? This one needs to steep a long time, or else I find it lacks flavor. I like it a lot and would consider getting 50 grams in a bit because it would nice for summer iced lattes. Not my favorite chai though, I think the best Davids one is Chai Guarana.
Sipdown #5: Why can’t someone make an outstanding raspberry tea for me to sip on? I love raspberries, but this one tastes like Absolut Raspberry vodka. I really liked it when I first had it, but now I can’t stand how fake it tastes. I have so much still too, I want to finish it so that I can get something else.
Sipdown #4: UGH Hibiscus explosion is more like it! I can’t believe I gave this such a high rating first time round. I love hibiscus, unlike much of the steepster community, but this one is ONLY that flavour. And then it trails off into nothingness. It hits my tongue so harsh and tart, and then THERE IS NO OTHER FLAVOUR! It tastes like cinnamony water after. Just no. Why are we losing great teas like perfect pear and yet this one is still IN STORES!!! No where near as good as pink flamingo or kanpe.
Sipdown # 3! I am trying to clear out my Davids stuff for the new teas this wednesday. It is getting crazy up in here, I’m going to do like 20 bags over the next 3 days. I won’t have any small samples left at that point.
This one is just ok for me. I really liked it initially, but it gets too bitter too quickly. Merry Cranberry is definitely sweeter and better. Maybe it is the orange but it just tastes like bitter green tea to me.
Sample sipdown #1 of the day! I still have a bit more of this in my tea for the holidays pack, but I finished off the advent calendar sample. This still tastes like Christmas. I wonder how it would be iced in the summer. It isn’t my favorite black, but it has its place on days that I crave it. Don’t oversteep or it gets really astringent.
