Bear Trap from DAVIDsTEA

Trail Mix Tea! That’s exactly what this tea smells like before it’s steeped. I’m not sure how to describe its taste though. It kind of reminds me of a strawberry grape juice mixture. Without honey it tastes like a traditional fruit punch tea, but with a tsp. of honey it changes the taste and brings out the strawberry flavor in it the most.

Pouring the hot water over the tea it immediately turns the color of grape juice. Overall, the tea tastes really good, and I will be drinking it again. It’s a good fruity tea.

Glitter & Gold from DAVIDsTEA
88

Shinny! This tea looks amazing first off! I’ve never seen a tea literally shimmer…but this stuff did. It was like looking into a cup of stars. So pretty looking I almost didn’t want to drink it. And as I drizzled my honey in, the shimmers swirled around so elegantly…if that’s possible in tea??

Anyway, dry this tea has a nice sweet smell to it, but not too sweet. Looking at the ingredients (sugar crystals and gold sugar balls)-lots of sugar seemed to be added to this tea, so I was a little nervous about this tea being too sweet.

This tea has a nice aroma during/after steep as well. It reminds me of fall/winter teas. I wouldn’t mind buying another package of this tea.

Double Dark Chocolate Mate from The Republic of Tea

Santa's Secret from DAVIDsTEA

Delicious tea! Although I wish the mint in it was a little stronger…but that’s just me. I like my teas to have a big minty flavor to them. Otherwise this is a good tea. Thanks for the sample DT!

Kiwi's Big Adventure from DAVIDsTEA
74

Drinking this tea now. All I can really smell is the green tea in this, with a little hint of fruit (but hardly). The green tea in this is REALLY strong, so if you don’t like green tea you will NOT like this tea.

The flavor is still good, I just wish they would have put more kiwi taste in it. It is called “Kiwi’s Big Adventure”, therefore I would think I would have been hit with both and explosion of kiwi/fruity aroma and taste, but it was lacking for sure. The taste just doesn’t compare to the name it was given.

It has a beautiful green color to it, and looks beautiful in my new clear perfect tea mug (also by DAVIDsTEA), just wish it tasted as good as it looked. I put 2 tsp of honey in a 8-12 oz glass of tea and it still didn’t bring out the fruity flavor…but still not a bad tea.

Overall, not a bad tea, just could have been better. I would definitely drink it again, I just probably would not purchase it again.

Goji Pop from DAVIDsTEA
84

This tea is quite tasty! Very fruity. This tea also has a nice aroma to it before and after it is steeped. I added a tsp. of honey to this and it was perfect.

Red Velvet Cake from DAVIDsTEA
83

So excited to try this tea today! It came in the mail yesterday as I was leaving for work…. :( But, today is a new day and time to try some new tea!!!

First off, even with a cold this tea smells good. Reminds me of cake! And as odd as this may sound…the tea itself seems a lot more moist than traditional black tea. Everything about this tea reminds me of a red velvet cake.

As the I poured the hot water over my cake tea there was a thin layer of foam, which made the tea look more like a coffee beverage. The smell of the tea was not masked by the water either. As I poured the water, the scent actually grew stronger. I haven’t even tasted the tea yet (as it cools), and I’m already loving it.

Finally the taste test! I always put a little honey in my tea (usually a tsp, but lately been weening myself off with half a tsp.), but I make sure to always try my tea before I add my honey. This tea really had that cake taste to it, but I’m still going to add honey to see if it will bring the flavor out a little more. I have noticed with DT honey is almost always needed to make their tea taste like it sounds.

So here goes….honey it, tea cup in hand…..tastes good! I would beware though, too much honey could ruin this tea. I put 1/2 tsp. of honey in and I can almost taste the honey over the tea itself. I think if I would have put an entire tsp. in it probably would have tasted like honey tea rather than a red velvet cake tea.

Overall, this is a pretty good tea. I purchased 100g of this tea, and I’m sure once valentines day passes this tea will be discontinued until next season. While this tea is good, I’m sure if I run out I will be find going without this tea until it comes back next valentines day.

Cola Chai from Kally Tea

Okay, I’ve let this tea sit for a bit (unintentionally) and I have discovered it tastes a little more like cola cold than it does hot. It tastes like an off brand of coke. Not a tea I’d drink all of the time, nor is it a tea I will buy again, but if offered to me I’d drink it.

Cola Chai from Kally Tea

Hmmm….I find this tea interesting. It tastes good, but I’m not sure if I taste cola in it. Maybe it is because I have a cold, but for now all I can taste is the traditional chai flavor. It has a nice spice to it and I put two tsp of honey in this. I believe my cold is messing with me because I NEVER put that much honey in my tea.

I could kind of smell the cola before it was steeped, but not so much once I started steeping it. Once again, this is probably because of my cold.

I will definitely be trying this tea again when I feel better, therefor I’m going to leave my rating for another time; until then, it is still a pretty good tea.

Wild Watermelon from Kally Tea
96

Mmmmm! To be honest I was a little nervous about purchasing a watermelon flavored tea. It’s one of those things where you like the actual fruit/flavor of so much you are afraid to find out you don’t like it as a tea.

However, even with my fear I decided to go and try some of Kally Tea’s Wild Watermelon since it was at such a good price. I’ve never purchased anything from Kally Tea, but I can tell you from this one experience I will be making some future purchases.

Getting to the point, yes I would buy this tea again. It has a very nice “watermelony” flavor. I added a little bit of honey and it made it that much better.

Before I even began steeping this tea I had to take a nice sniff in the bag…lol (that sounds odd I know). And having a cold I was still able to smell the sweetness. I’m pretty sure it is because of my cold, but it took me a little bit to really smell the watermelon in there. At first it smelled like a cool aid powder, very sweet and fruity, but soon I was able to smell the watermelon coming through.

I like this tea a lot because I feel it tastes like it is supposed to. It’s not overly sweet, and it actually tastes like a good watermelon.

Get Clean - No. 7 (Wellness Collection) from The Republic of Tea
100

Backlogging this one. It’s been a little while since I’ve done a detox, so I decided this was a good week to do one. Tomorrow is my last day of my “detox week”, and I’d have to say it’s nice. I’m feeling better about myself overall, maybe because I’m being healthier overall.

Either way, this tea tastes nice. I put a tsp. of honey in it, and I love it.

Mom's Apple Pie from DAVIDsTEA
96

Sipping on this tea today, and reminded that this tea is about to be discontinued. I truly love this tea! And I am sad to see it go. Once again, a great tea with a tsp of honey added to it. Tastes okay without honey, but smells better than it tastes if you don’t add a little sweetener to it.

Just stocked up on this tea last night. I probably have about 50g left, but considering once it is sold out I’ll never see it again, I have decided to go ahead and purchase another 250g…will this get me through the rest of my life??? NOPE, and it will be a sad day. So anyone who has had this tea and knows of a tea I can switch to once this lovely tea is gone, PLEASE let me know!

Organic Peppermint from Arbor Teas
100

Here for another tasting note. Made this tea with milk this time, making a version of a “tea FrappĂ©”. This tastes okay. I’m not too keen on the milk, maybe I put too much…not sure because I’ve never put milk in my tea. It still tastes okay because the peppermint really comes through the milk flavor, but the milk is still a little strong for me. Maybe next time I’ll put less milk in (if I ever make this again). The tea by itself is still amazing! My boyfriend and I shared an entire teapot of this stuff last night, with just a little honey for sweetness. This is one of the few teas I can stand to drink unsweetened. Iced is really good as well. :D

Acai Green from The Republic of Tea
92

Having the iced version of this again, and it is just as good as the first time. It’s a good summer tea, but I’m still drinking it in this snowy weather. :D I used german rock sugar for this tea…blends well.

Acai Green from The Republic of Tea
92

I have this in their iced tea bags, and it’s pretty good. I add some rock sugar while it’s hot, let it steep for three minutes and it is delicious. This is a great summer time drink. Very smooth, not too strong or sweet.

Hibiscus Superflower Tea with Blueberry from The Republic of Tea
85

Steeping this tea currently, and the smell was amazing as soon as I opened the package. Received this in the mail as a sample with their catalog. I will say this is probably one of their stronger smelling teas. All I can smell is blueberries, and it smells amazing! I’ve never had a blueberry tea I really love that tastes or even smells like a blueberry, so I am excited to try this tea.

As it steeps it is turning a beautiful dark purple, and still smelling like blueberries…just not as strong anymore. Only four more minutes of steeping left… :D Can’t wait to try this one. PLEASE DON’T LET ME DOWN RoT!!!

Wow…good tea here! The best blueberry tea I’ve had yet. It has a nice soft blueberry finish to it. I could actually drink this unsweetened. I drink EVERY tea with a tsp of raw honey, so that says a lot. It has a natural sweetness to it, and tastes like you’re eating an actual blueberry.

I could see myself buying this tea the next time I shop at the RoT. Good job guys! I’m a fan.

Moroccan Mint from The Republic of Tea
94

Having this tea again, and still loving it. Since my first taste I’ve tried it cold…not bad, but I prefer this tea hot much more. It tastes good without any sweeteners, but I’m a honey in my tea kind of gal, so I’m sticking with my tsp of honey.

I find one perfect tea spoon of this stuff at 2.5 min steeping does the trick, not too strong, but not bland at all. The mint flavor really pops from this tea, and the aroma is really nice too.

Pineapple Oolong from DAVIDsTEA
88

Just got this tea in the mail as a sample…not bad. It smells great, and has a very light taste. The smell reminds me of a pineapple soda. I think this tea would make a great iced tea, but either way it’s not bad hot.

Orange Creme Dreams from Talbott Teas
100

Yumm!!! Can I say new favorite! This tea smells and tastes just like creamsicles! I love it. It is a little bland compared to the smell without honey, but add a tsp of raw honey and it is delicious! I could drink this tea everyday! I haven’t tried it cold yet, but I imagine it would make a great summer time iced tea.

Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride from Celestial Seasonings
49

This tea wasn’t what I thought it would be. I can taste the sugar cookie in it, but just not like I imagined. My favorite cookies are sugar cookies, so maybe that’s why I was disappointed. I can’t place the exact flavor, but it just didn’t have that sweetness I expected. I think this tea just didn’t hit me the way I wanted, because my boyfriend loves this tea…so he now has a new tea in his collection. Maybe it’s one of those you like it or hate it teas.

Get Soothed - No. 8 (Wellness Collection) from The Republic of Tea
90

This tea has a nice soothing taste. It really does sooth the throat. I had bronchitis this past week and I pretty much lived on this tea. Of course, it’s only temporary I would advise going to the doctor for some medication, but this really does the trick meanwhile. A very delightfully tasty tea.

Jolly Jellybean from DAVIDsTEA
42

My thought process through this tea experience:

Hmm…no smell
That’s a wimpy jelly bean
Surely there’s more than that pathetic little guy in here
Oh! Look at all the jelly beans!
I wonder if I can eat them???
This tea smells like puke!!!! (while steeping)
Hope it tastes better than it smells
Bland smell/no more puke! (after steeping)
No flavor
Tastes like honey (with two tsp raw honey)

This tea is pretty disappointing. And for anyone interested…yes I ate the jelly beans! :) This tea has no taste to it. I picked this tea to try something different, but I got nothing. No aroma no smell…nothing. The only thing saving this tea is the fact that I have some honey. Wish it would have been better.

Mom's Apple Pie from DAVIDsTEA
96

I’m writing this review as I drink this tea.

This tea really hit me when I opened the package, all I could smell was apple pie! The aroma is so strong and so much like real apple pie, I’m almost afraid to taste it and become disappointed in it.

On another note (as the tea cools), this is my first order from DavidsTea and I must say they did an EXCELLENT shipping job. The delivery was quick and the packaging was excellent. It looked like someone actually took time to make my package nice, orderly, and as break resistant as possible (since I also purchased one of their glass cups-which I’m about to drink my tea from).

I was also given three samples that I can’t wait to try and all my teas came with a free tin since I purchased 100g of each tea. The teas also came with stickers to place on the tins to distinguish between my teas. DT also did an excellent job on their “tea menu”. The menu has several teas with little boxes (for check marks) and is made of an almost cardboard type material so you can write in it to either mark of the teas you have or want. I absolutely love that.

Okay, so the tea is cooling and the aroma has softened just a little, but still smells like apple pie. I haven’t added any sweetener to this yet (I add honey to all my teas) because the smell is so sweet I don’t want to risk ruining it.

First sip done! This tea tastes nothing like its smell (a little disappointed). I could drink this without honey, but I’d prefer not to. Let’s see if honey does the trick….WOW! It’s like a whole new tea! The honey really brings out the sweet apple pie taste. I can’t believe how much of a difference the honey has really made. (I used a raw honey) I was thinking the honey would make this tea taste like honey, but one tsp did the trick and I’m a happy tea drinker! I will continue to buy this tea it is that good!

If the tea tasted like it smells or even as it does with the honey originally I would give this tea a 100, but considering the previous, I will have to dock a few points. :(

Organic Peppermint from Arbor Teas

This tea is great! I read a couple of reviews on this tea before I purchased it, and knew I would love it since I love minty teas. A lot of other reviews I read talked about adding a black vanilla tea to make it taste like candy canes. I could see that as a great combination for this tea. It is so nice and minty without being too minty. Exactly what I thought it would taste like. I mixed mine with a tbls of rock sugar and just doing that gave it the “candy cane taste” in my opinion. I will be restocking on this tea for sure! I can safely say it is my favorite tea at this point!!! If you love mint teas you will love this tea!!!

Profile

Bio

I’m new to the tea world, and I have recently become addicted to this stuff! I love the flavored teas the most. I actually used to hate tea (wish I would have discovered my love for it earlier on) because when I was in my teens I was given a flavorless tea with no sweetener, and as a child, that was a big turn off. Now as an adult I have truly learned to love tea. I am trying as much of it as I can. I still haven’t brought myself to try any of the more simple (non-flavored) teas, but I hope one day I can learn to love them just the same.
