This was a nice, inexpensive and basic Kenyan black tea. It becomes very bitter quite quickly, so keep the steep time down.

Flavors: Fruity, Malt, Round, Tannic

Quite a nice green – clear, mild sweet taste – but be wary of over-brewing!

Not a lot of astringency, which was nice as I am not a huge fan of Assam teas. Nice malty flavour and beautiful copper colour. I would have like to have tasted more citrus and spice coming through.

drank Samurai Chai Maté by Teavana

Ah chai, you’ve been butchered and re-blended countless times by countless companies.
Most are miss, some are hit and theres a handful of what the..
Well teavana has not exactly done you justice but they have blended a decent brew with enough of certain spices to label it chai.
I must admit it is too sweet for my liking though. The mate flavor is completely overshadowed but the spices/fruit work in harmony here and also make an incredible aroma in-tin and brewing.
If you have tried chai but were put off by the spices and wanted to try something a little more balanced than this tea should do wonders for your tastebuds.
Overall this is a pleasantly light yet sweet and energizing brew to enjoy every other day or so or just whenever you need a sweet kick.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around all the different kinds of Long Jing. This is my frist time (knowingly) trying Shi Feng. The leaves are very very flat and consistant dry. Beautiful to look at wet. They are very whole with minimal torn or broken pieces.

I’d say it’s lighter and crisper tasting with a milder aroma then other Long Jings I’ve had, such as Peet’s. The color is pale gold.

It’s very refreshing and really satisfies my Long Jing craving. I’d go as far as saying it’s the best Long Jing I’ve had, although I’d like to do a side-by-side tasting someday to prove that.

Not the world’s best tea in terms of quality, but it’s good for a quick Sunday morning cup. Pleasant aroma, subtle citrus flavors. It just hits the spot.
