I had to actually buy this from a place in the States because this particual CS tea never showed up in my local stores. They were selling all the other holidays teas but not this one, oddly enough.

The smell…oh my god, the smell! The teabags smell like cookie batter that just had a bunch of fresh citrus zest grated into it – it made me want to eat the teabag instead of steep it! Then, when the water was added, it got even better, turning into the smell of just-baked sugar cookies, fresh out of the oven.

The flavour starts off tasting lightly citrusy and I got worried that that was going to be all there was to it, but then the sweet, sugar cookie goodness kicked in. I can literally taste the buttery, crumbly texture that you get when you take a bite of a cookie. This could easily become an addiction!

Split a pot of this with a friend tonight. Box is half gone, and I didn’t buy a backup. Tears.

Yummm. They are not kidding about the sugar cookie thing; this smells very intensely of fresh, buttery sugar cookies. The taste is not nearly as strong, but it certainly does taste like sugar and butter. So glad I found these holiday teas!

This was all I could think about when I got up this morning. So sweet.

When you open the box, put your nose right in there and breathe in deep. You’ll have that sugar cookie smell with you for about ten minutes after you’ve walked into another room while letting the tea steep. I put brown sugar in my cup, which turned out to make it too sweet. Hits the tongue nicely and doesn’t leave a peculiar aftertaste, like some other kinds of sweet tea.

Don’t be put off by the “Sleigh Ride” part of the tea’s name. There’s no actual taste of a sleigh involved.

I’m really tempted to eat actual sugar cookies with this. Anyone do that yet and lived to tell the tale?

I know most people don’t seem to like this tea, but I love it. It is a great afternoon herbal tea. It smells and tastes like a vanilla wafer. Brew it for a long time (5-6 minutes) and then give it a good stir before removing the tea bag. Add minimal sugar or a tiny dash of agave nectar. I’m going to be sad when this one runs out. I am on my second box of it and I had to order it off the internet.

Gift from janefan, I have a feeling the air got to it a bit as the smell was weak and everyone else seems to have been hit by a string smell. However, the taste and aftertaste were truly a sugar cookie, very delicious! I am so glad I got to try this tea. My coworkers seem to love it too.

Post-Steep Additives: none

I really wasn’t too much of a fan of this one. It was a good herbal for a year that I’m avoiding caffeine in. I had the first cup and thought, “glad I tried that, I’ll try something new next year.” But really, I’ve found the trick is to use more than one tea bag. I’m using one of those small glass tea pots right now, and used three. I kindof wish I had tried four, though. So, apparently concentration is what makes this a good one for me.

It’s holiday time when I break out the Celestial Seasonings holiday tea. I included this tea this year, and after a long steep, it was quite tasty. My favorite of their line up is still Peppermint Lane, but this is a very good one, too.

I made a cup of this last night with two bags instead of one and I really liked it a lot. Maybe I’ve been using too much water in the past. However, I was really, really tired, so I fell asleep before finishing the cup. Boo!

I need a cup of something to jump start my work for the evening. Let’s hope this does the trick!!

Big mug, two tea bags, notes incorporated into document. Read, set, editing time!!

If you feel like something sweet, drink this instead! Smells just like a sugar cookie and tastes very good. Very comforting and seems special for some reason. I add milk and sugar to this for a nice treat. Great after dinner tea.

This is my favorite from Celestial Seasonings. I wish they had it year-round! Anyway, I love the scent—so malty and shortbread-like. I love the soothing and smoothly sweet taste. And milk thistle is so good for the liver. This is great to drink after you overindulge—very appropriate for the holidays!

This tea has vanilla, milk thisle, orange peel and roasted barley. It smells kind of like orange and vanilla. I steeped for a couple or so minutes. You mainly taste the vanilla, the orange, and perhaps the milke thisle. The only thing that would of made this better would be more vanilla please.

How do they make a sugarcookie flavored tea (wo/ a cookie crumb in sight)?
Lovely, light tea that does well with milk. Especially nice that CS teas always can be
made in a mega mug (not like stash teas that get watery). And with milk thistle,
see ma, tea is good for me. So if you want to give your liver some love, sugar cookies are the way forward :)

I bought this one out of sheer curiousity (a cookie flavored tea? and caffeine free?) and because I had a big coupon. I was dubious, to tell the truth. After finishing half of the box, I’ll admit that it’s not a bad tea, and definitely a good dessert substitute. It’s not as sweet as I expected, although the teabags do smell just like a sugar cookie. I let it steep for 5 minutes, and don’t add anything to it. SCSR is not like any other tea I’ve ever tried, and oddly not as disgusting as ‘warm liquid cookie’ sounds to me. It’s just a bit sweet and a bit citrusy. If you’ve ever enjoyed sugar in your tea, it’s actually worth a try.

I got this on a dare (I know, not a great start to a review) because it was next to the tea I really wanted but couldn’t have (gingerbread). If you take a glass of milk and a box of sugar cookies and liquify them in a blender for 10 minutes, you’ll have this. It really honest to god does taste like a liquid sugar cookie (with a tiny tiny orange liqueur in there). …Unfortunately, I hate sugar cookies which makes this even more weird and unsettling.

My experience was similar to that of other reviewers – While the scent is amazing and just like sugar cookies, the taste is negligible. Faint citrus with some artificial vanilla. Next time I will try steeping it along with a bag of black tea – maybe the flavors will mingle nicely? On its own it just tastes too weak and watery.

To me, this is sickeningly sweet.
