White Melon Yogurt

Fruit White Blend by California Tea House

Inspired by the frozen yogurt craze that started in Southern California and is quickly spreading across the US, White Melon Yogurt is a delicious, cream blend of rare Chinese white teas, white melon preserves and dried yogurt pieces. This one is excellent hot or on ice. This is Ani’s favorite!

The dry leaf smells odd. It doesn’t smell like melon or yogurt or white tea. It’s really hard to describe.

Wet leaf smell – a vegetable – but I couldn’t tell you which one.

It’s a typical white tea color for the liquid.

And smells like white tea.

The taste…well, it tastes like white tea! I can taste a melon taste…more like a honeydew melon. Can’t taste a yogurt taste but you can tell something makes it smoother…so I will chalk that up as the yogurt!

Thumbs up for being a creative blend. It’s tasty and refreshing. Regardless of how hot the water may be it seems to give me a warm and cozy feeling even after sipped/swallowed.

FUN.

I like the smell of this tea, it’s fresh and fruity, but I can also smell of a bit of the sourness I usually associate with yogurt. The tea doesn’t taste hugely melon but the flavouring has enough kick to let you know that it’s there, and it leave a bit of an aftertaste in the mouth. It’s not that sickly-sweet faux-melon flavour I’ve come across sometimes, thank God – I hate that stuff. There’s a note of fresh ‘greeness’ to the tea that compliments the melon well. The yogurt is quite subdued but it gives a creamy texture and taste to each sip.

This tea would be very nice iced, IMO. Maybe I’ll try it that way when the weather gets hotter (which it’s due to soon)

It’s getting way too hot outside. I was complaining just 3 weeks ago that it was cold and it didn’t feel like Summer, and now I’m eating those words. It’s super hot now and there’s no breeze. It’s time to turn to a tea that I tried iced last Summer and really did the trick. I really like the creamy flavor of this when it’s served hot, but it’s very refreshing on ice too.

Delicious! I decided to brew this one up right after dinner. I can taste the white tea and a subtle creamy melon flavor (sort of like a sweet cucumber to be honest). I don’t taste a distinct yogurt flavor just a slight creaminess… Even when warm, the tea seems cool and relaxing.

Really, Teaequalsbliss’ review was right “on the money”. Note: my daughter thinks the tea tastes like Pop-Rocks (lol!) but trust me, this tea does not have any type of artificial watermelon flavor at all…

By far one of the best white teas on the market
