I had a very happy accident with this tea. I made candied lemon peels last night and was left with about 7 cups of lemon-infused simple syrup: I didn’t want it all to go down the drain so I saved some for sweetening iced teas. Unfortunately I didn’t spoon this into my Rainforest Nectar coldbrew like I should have but poured it, resulting in CRAZY SWEET TEA. Like “oh god kill me now this is how I die” sweet.

So I cut it with filtered water, added lemon slices and juice and voila: Rainforest Nectar Lemonade! It is SO good with that pop of citrus with the rich tropical fruits, it’s so so delicious. The mix of fruit is great: passionfruit, mango, pineapple, kiwi! A unique blend, especially the kiwi: you don’t see a lot of that. I won’t rate this tea until I have it on its own but if you have this, mix it with lemonade. Trust me, it’s mana from heaven.

Full Review on the 6th of March on http://sororiteasisters.com/ but here are the snippits:

The moment I opened my sample bag of Rainforest Nectar from Della Terra Teas I knew two things. First I knew that I was going to be ordering more soon. Second I knew I had to have it iced. This tea is scrumptious hot, but iced, it is just nothing short of dreamy!

As I sit here writing this review this tea sits, iced, in a tall glass, yet I still can smell the wonderful aroma that I am used to only smelling when a hot tea sits cooling beside me. This tea is strongly scented and flavored of everything tropical.

As I sit here watching the sunset on this rather pretty, and warm, winters evening, I can’t help but long for summer to hurry and get here only because I know this is the tea I will be sipping all summer long!

So the nice thing about splitting try me packs 3 ways is that it’s pretty much enough for 2-3 normal people cups or 1 of my cups since that’s all i really want, and can then leave the “extra” for the other 2 people heh. So today, i’m trying to go through the last of the della terra teas we split three ways. I guess technically these are all sipdowns except they’re more like “haha i didn’t have to add this tea to my cupboard” :)

I suspect this tea would make a decent cold brew. Hot? It’s not too shabby. What i like most about it, is the lack of stupid candy, sprinkles or other assorted crap that della adds to their teas that drive me batty. I’m not getting much in the way of kiwi in this – it’s largely a mango, passionfruit tea. However, i think this would truly shine as a cold brew.

This is one of those teas that I don’t really like by itself, but will stay in my cupboard for blends. Reminds me of Peach Cran Tango from Teavana. This will be great blended with jasmine and either an assam OR hibiscus.

I bought this specifically for cold brewing, because come on, a tropical tea? How can that not make an awesome iced tea?

The dry leaf is very heavy on the mango, but that’s a good thing! In second place comes the pineapple. I find that dried kiwi doesn’t even have much of a smell so I wasn’t expecting to detect it anyway.

This indeed makes quite a flavourful cold brew. Again, it’s mostly mango, like dried mango slices. Second flavour is maybe… passionfruit actually. Maybe pineapple next but I think what’s happening is the mango is drowning out the pineapple and kiwi. Either way, this is refreshing. Very sweet, but refreshing.

The base is nice too. Not too bitter nor strong.

This one is interesting. It’s beautiful, especially after cold-brewing for a few hours. Hot, it tasted primarily of peach to me, and was very flavorful and juicy. I haven’t finished off my cold-brewed jar, but the sip I had was very tasty, refreshing and sweet.

Definitely not on my reorder list, but it’s a fun tea.

Thank you to Della Terra for sending me a free sample of this! The aroma of this tea reminds me of Green Goddess from Tea Grotto(they pretty much have the same ingredients..). I’ve never had much luck with back and green blends… So fingers crossed I steeped this right…
This tastes EXACTLY like Green Goddess. But it has more of a darker note to it. I’m betting it’s the touch of black tea. Which is actually a nice touch… It adds something to the fruitiness of this tea.

Sipdown tea #4!
Had it iced :] It was super delicious. Sad this one is gone though!

Backlogging. This is a tea I had with some sugar. This taste like papaya and some passionfruit and alittle of the other fruits. And the tea bases. I think this is really good.

This tea is interesting in a very good way. The smell is almost candylike. It reminds me of something from my childhood I can’t quite place. All mango though, possibly one of the Tropical Starburst candies? When you drink it you get far less of the fruit and more of the tea flavor. Not a bad thing for me, as the scent could’ve made it taste like juice too easily. But all together, I’m happy I got this. It would probably make an AMAZING iced tea.
