Adventageddon Day 13 – Tea 1/4
We’re powering writing tasting notes tonight since I just got back from our office holiday party like maybe ten minutes ago and now I am rushed to complete everything before midnight…
Anyway – it’s the first day of the 52Teas countdown now that I’ve gone through all the Tea Thoughts days and I was super excited to see this one. I see that I’ve rated it a bit more conservatively (maybe I’ll go back and read those tasting notes after my advent recap for the day), but it’s one of those blends that, while I maybe wasn’t immediately head over heals for it, I remember quite fondly. I think I’ve actually suggested it for the advent before too, and it never quite makes the final list. So it was an awesome surprise!
I feel like, having just read Cameron’s tasting note, this is also one of those teas that really highlights how different people percieve flavour since I get so much sweet, jammy cranberry from this blend with a hint of cream – not so much in the cinnamon department. I mean, it’s there but I find it really subtle compared to the rest. It was lovely overall though – especially as my first tea of the day and enjoyed while reading through my friend Taniya’s poetry book this morning!

I’m drinking it now and it’s mostly cranberry with a smidge of cinnamon, no cream… so, yep, different perceptions for different people! XD
That’s one of the very first things that I learned when I started blending teas years ago when I ran LiberTEAS (a lot more years than I want to admit to!) – every person tastes things differently – we each have individual palates and every taste tastes different to every person. So, what one person likes, another person might not – so I just blend for my personal tastes, if I like it, then I’ll sell it. If I don’t, I’m going to tweak it to my tastes. :)

Waaaaah I want to taste jammy cranberry too! T.T
Don’t feel bad, Cameron, I also never taste cranberry in cranberry teas.

so true, everybody tasting things differently…as a beer (and about all styles of it) lover as well, for instance.
