I remember the last time I drank mate is Rainforest Maté Tea from Mighty Leaf(got it from their collection box). It wasn’t bad, although I found that Licorice+fruit combination a little bit strange.

This mate, however, smells totally different. As the name suggest, it smells just like freshly squeezed juice! The sale rep told me “this contains more caffeine than coffee…and can keep you going for 10+ hours”. Hey, I’m in!

It taste exactly how it smells. The tropical fruit blends very well together. It also covers the bitterness of mate, make this tea somewhat similar to a herbal tea(except it’s high caffeine). I was able to steep it twice without losing flavor. One thing to note is that this tea is finer than I thought. I’ve should use a mesh not hole steeper.

And yes, it did kept me going for 10 hours, from a short sleep.

Today had such a crappy morning I needed a real boost.I had just ordered from DT and had got Main Squeeze a new Yerba Mate Tea that is my favorite thing…citrusy and lemony!Oh and it’s a stimulant!

It says it’s “sunshine in a glass” and that’s EXACTLY what I need.
Smells so lemony that it makes my taste buds wake up and take notice.
Also smells sweet and tangy.

Once brewed doesn’t smell as nice it actually smells kind of questionable but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless.

Tastes ok..has a very lemony base..tastes light but there’s definitely a yerba mate earthy taste that I’m not 100 percent into.I think this would benefit greatly from being iced.

It’s okay and it gets better as i drink it..but I think I prefer Honey Bee and Jungle Ju Ju as stimulants much more!

Uhhh…yum. Is that too short for a tasting note?

Then in that case.

Uhhh…yum. Give me more, please!

If I could afford to drink this all day every day, I would.

I just picked this up a couple days ago.

Smell- like orange pop.

Taste- nothing like the smell. I really didn’t like this tea. It just tasted like mate with a tiny hint of orange.

I really don’t like this one. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it doesn’t have the slightest hint of tartness and sweetness, it only has the bitterness of the orange peel. I couldn’t drink more than two gulps. It reminds me of something I hate but I can’t pinpoint what. A kind of medicine or something like that.

I’ve been on the hunt for good teas that make good iced teas to replace my orange juice addiction. I thought I found it with this tea. What I like is that it is a strong tropical tea – like others have mentioned it tastes like sunny d or simply orange or another cocktail blend. The green mate is present, but is not that noticeable when iced. I do prefer this tea iced over hot (I tried some in my teapot before it went in the fridge and it wasn’t bad either, it just wasn’t great).

Exotica is still winning for my favourite iced tea so far…

Made this tea today to take to work, had a couple of sips hot while driving there. Hot is not bad, the problem is that it tastes just like orange juice which really I didn’t want hot. Now it stayed in my locker for a couple of hours and I didn’t have time to drink it… when I did it was awesome. It was refreshing and delicious. It also gave me a nice little pep from the mate. I will definitely be having this tea cold again.

I should also add that the tea leaves smell ridiculously good. I can smell them all day long.

This is a great maté! Yummy! Reminds me of summer and tropical places :). Papaya is the main flavour I get with this tea.

First impression- Smells strongly like a freshly opened carton of orange juice. There are visible fruit chunks, flowers, and green mate leaves in the mixture.
Prepared- hot with 1/4 teaspoon of agave nectar. Brewed 5 minutes in 94 degree water in a David’s Perfect mug.
First sips- Tastes like a light, no pulp orange juice. Doesn’t quite have the ‘solidity’ of an orange juice, so it reminds me somewhat of a drink mix (but much more delicious and not so chemical-y). Strong fruit flavour masks the more bitter mate.
Very good, I would definitely try it again, and try it iced to replace a morning orange juice with a caffeinated version.

This is one of my favorite mates, and reminds me of morning because of its delicious orange juice aroma. You just take a whiff of this tea and the morning and its magic.

The taste is not for everyone. It can be very bitter (I don’t know if that is just because of how I steep it, but I like it either way) but still fruity. I would say I prefer it to Simply the Zest, but I think they are both on even footing to me. If I want something more refreshing than chocolate rocket in the morning I’ll have this.

Just spent the weekend at a retreat with my co-ed fraternity.. and came back to a big beautiful white box from DT!
This is the very first of the flavors I decided to try out, and I’m liking it. It’s got a natural sweetness to it that I’m fond of and it still has a very clean, juicy, fresh taste. I’m normally not a big fan of mate teas, but this one is good. However, I do think the mate is the only thing I’m on the fence about, since I can taste a grassiness that is slightly weird to me. I can work with it though, because the rest of the tea is delicious!

Tastes like Tang. But it is tea. Nice but not great because it tastes too much like those juice crystals.

I had this iced this morning with a little sugar and I don’t think I can have this any other way. I woke up to the sun shining and a beautiful blue sky which gave me the hankering for iced tea. I do really like it iced, but I like it, not love it if that makes sense. It’s great to have instead of orange juice because I’m trying to stay away from any drinks besides tea and water, it doesn’t fall flat for me but doesn’t make me shout from the hilltops about how great this tea is either. Light and refreshing. I wish I liked this more, I’m not sure why I don’t. But this is a winning blend.

Fruity mate? Interesting concept… A bit tropical, refreshing and supposed to be energizing. Very specific flavour, probably a good mid word day choice.

Another one that I wanted to love and just don’t think I’ll be repurchasing. It smells like fresh squeezed orange juice. The taste reminds me of the orange Triaminic that I used to have as a child. It has a very medicinal quality. I will try the rest of the sample iced to see if it’s any better.

My favorite flavor from DavidsTea right now.

I only wish they could replicate this in a green or black tea as I’d prefer less of a kick from the mate and some benefit from a daily dose of theanine.

It tastes as close to a glass of orange juice as I guess a tea could get. Very fragrant, not too sweet or tart and very very tasty. It’s close to being my daily drink now.

This is a great mate. I had been finding a lot of the mate’s coming from david’s as of late had been heavier flavours. I am glad this one is lighter, and is fruity which is perfect for first thing in the morning.
