2827 Tasting Notes
Peach iced tea is so refreshing, so I picked up two oz of this tea with that in mind. The first day, I tried a mug hot, and it was plenty good, but I could picture how much better it would be cold. It smells a lot like David’s other peach flavored teas, but I think I like this one more. Cold, it’s so peachy and sweet. I actually had to add in a little water because it was too strong at first. Anyway, I look forward to making a nice big pitcher or two of this to have cold one day soon.
Bought this sample from Ost this summer. At first I thought this tea was pretty average. It ended up quite bitter, so I had to put in more sugar than I prefer to counter that. Now that it’s cooled, it tastes like a dessert. Nice malty flavor. So although unflavored teas aren’t really my thing, I’d say this one tastes better than many.
All right, now this is pretty tasty. Hot, you get mostly the orange flavor with a bit of alcohol as if it were flavored with orange extract. It was still pretty good, but I’m so glad I put the rest of my mug in the fridge because wow, this morning I am drinking pure creamsicle. The flavor is so creamy and accurate. If I order from Angry Tea Room again, I will certainly purchase a larger amount of this and drink it chilled every time.
Saved the last tiny portion of this from the tea box. When I smelled and first tasted it, it reminded me of a weaker hot cinnamon sunset from Harney. As it cooled, my opinion has changed. It definitely has that familiar cinnamon flavor, but it also has greater complexity from its other ingredients. I’m pretty tired of hot cinnamon sunset since I find it one-dimensional, but I could drink this empress chai again and again. Too bad there was only one cup’s worth in the box! I mostly avoid chai these days since I usually find them boring and unremarkable, but I’m happy to say that this tea is quite a good one.
In the bag, this tea smelled just amazing. Brewed, it smelled more like wine. Hot, it tastes kind of like tart nothingness. I put it in the fridge, hoping for a better experience the next day. Happily, when I had it cold this morning, it was really nice! I did have to put sugar in to battle the tartness. I’m not sure it really tastes like blackberry specifically, more like just general berry. So anyway, I’m happy to finally have a TeBella tea that I’ll actually be able to finish my 2 oz of without too much struggle. I’ll keep pitchers of it in the fridge to take to work, and it’ll disappear in no time (:
Oh, I did not realize this had green tea in it, so I definitely steeped it too long, but I couldn’t taste (and could barely see in the leaves) the green tea, so luckily, I got away with it. The only watermelon ingredient is watermelon seeds…which seems like a weird choice to me. I was hoping for a sweet watermelon flavor, but instead, what I got was mostly a strange lime. I’m not a fan of limeade teas, so this wasn’t too surprising. The tea turned a beautiful deep pink from the hibiscus and carrot, but like…why could they not put watermelon in there? I just feel misled! Anyway, this tea is drinkable, it’s fine, just expect mostly lime.
I loved Teavana’s mandarin mimosa, and I’ve been on the hunt for a good orange tea ever since. I’m pleased to say that I quite enjoy this one! It’s light and not really tart at all. It’s kind of like watered down orange juice, but not in a bad way. It’s not as good as what I’m looking for, but this is perfectly refreshing and tasty with just a little sugar added. The only flavor I detect is orange, which is what I was hoping for.
I’m pretty sure this tea is the same as Adagio’s honeybush pumpkin chai, which I’m not a huge fan of. It’s too sweet and fruity. The spices are way too light. I agree with earlier reviews saying it tastes like bubble gum. I love a spicy, slightly savory pumpkin chai. This is the opposite of that. I can see how others might enjoy this tea more, I’m just especially annoyed about inadvertently ordering a tea I already didn’t love.
I got this as part of a sampler. I wouldn’t buy something like this on its own. It’s pretty sour. It’s basically entirely lemon with no perceptible amount of strawberry except the pink color of the liquid. I like lemon teas, but this one is too bitter and artificial. It was slightly better cold, but still not too enjoyable.
Saved a small portion of this from the tea box. There was a little bitterness, which I fixed with some sugar. It’s quite pleasant! I often add milk to black tea, but I didn’t need to for this one. It’s not the sort of thing that I would buy, but that’s what sampling from tea boxes is for!
