This was surprisingly great, considering I got it from a reseller (Darlene’s) and got 1/4 lb for $1.99, SHIPPED. It’s a nice, dark, malty assam and it hits all the right notes for me. I doubt I could tell it from any others if side by side. I have actually only had one tea from a Metropolitan reseller that I didn’t like, and I think that was due to personal taste. I still want my fancy ones, but it’s nice to pick up bigger packages – especially for iced teas. I bought their black wild blackberry and it’s great for that.

Wow.. awesome price! I’ve been curious about ordering from her… seen her on ebay. I agree that larger amounts for a better value are great for iced tea.. it disappears so fast at my house!

Bio

Mom of two practically grown girls, extremely happily married to a man who is amused by my obsession with tea, and company owner who works from home. Life is good.

Likes/dislikes: I love black teas, especially strong/malty ones. I am ok with flavored teas if the base is strong. I like some whites. I really don’t like any tea that tastes “green” – if I wanted to drink something that tastes like green beans, I would cook some green beans. I am not big on green teas or genmaichas. I am learning to like puerhs.

If we are trading, I have a STRONG aversion to coconut, banana and licorice. I love citrus, vanilla and spice. Not a fan of florals.
