6311 Tasting Notes
let me start this by saying i hate mate. Every time i have it, i am not a fan. However, i ADORE chocolate orange. So i tried this. the smell is amaaaazing. delicious chocolate orange and yum all around.
taste wise…i can ALMOST get over the mate because of the delicious chocolate orange. almost. I see how the mate adds to that thicker feeling….but i wish i could take this flavouring and add it to a malty black tea. THAT would be fantastic.
smells like…. something familiar..not quite pineapple but sort of if you really think hard about it.
tastes like… burnt fake pineapple. if that makes sense. there’s another flavour here i can’t place that is fruity…somewhere in between pineapple and peach…but there’s a burnt taste here. Funnily enough, i don’t hate this nearly as much as others have… it’s in pineapple/ not really..but it’s not bad haha
HOLY RUM…oh and a little vanilla. haha this smells like an insanely creamy rum cocktail. Kinda makes me long for my caramel rum milkshake heh. all that being said, there’s an after taste to this that i’m not a fan of it’s a bit artificial like..and reminds me a little bit of medicine from when i was a kid. greats to try though and i appreciate the sharing of tea bags with me from tea friends!
this is my puerh for the day…though i may take a second one out. The rest of my tea drinking will be trying to work through some of the tea bag samples that i have so that i can get my cupboard down to a more manageable size again. I’m seriously behind in my sipdowns.
this was a sample from Wymm tea and their only shou offering this time around. I’ve previously had one of their other grades of this tea but it’s hard to recall the specifics of the brew to really do a fair comparison. initial steeps it’s a little woody…some fermentation sort of flavour going on…but a nice smooth delicious shou. will be interesting to see how this plays out the rest of the day
