I’m going to have to go with Rarietea on this one – lemon? yes. ginger? yes. pineapple? uh not so much. Still it was a decent cup to drink tonight so no real complaints here. Would i repurchase? likely not but only because other companies i order from more often, offer similar teas.

261, sipdown!
I finished a cup of this tonight….i didn’t sleep well last night so i’m trying to bust out the sleep type teas and see if that helps. I’m also going to try and get to bed “early” though right now i am totally crazing nachos and salsa so i dunno how that’s going to go lol. This is an interesting tea. The last of it is going in to the swap box, not because i don’t enjoy it but because the pieces getting stuck in my brew baskets have irritated me to the point of not wanting to clean it after this tea ever again! lol
SIPDOWN!
Totally weird that i have the first tasting note on this one. I actually went back to check and make sure the name hadn’t changed on me or something. This tea? it’s not a bad peach tea, but i think i need a break from peach teas so that might be impacting my rating. I had hoped for more ginger in this one but it’s really more just a peach tea.
So i poured some of the gingerbread man tea that i still had into this brew in the hopes that it would end up being a peachy ginger tea and it worked! lol This is a good combo! Sadly on it’s own it’s just too peachy to be a peach ginger tea. Not a bad tea,but not what i hoped it would be.
sipdown! 263…. here we go again lol
There’s an abundance of ginger in this one today but i think i prefer it this way. It’s not nearly as sweet as before. I feel though, that this is much more of a ginger tea than it is gingerbread. If that makes sense.
man another winner from Terriharplady I’m so terribly torn because after trying out these three from A&D i really want to order the tiger assam but holy crap that’s 4.4oz. That being said it appears to be free shipping today, even for the 25$ priority shipping to canada…so that would be a serious win if i do it.
This tea? Also a great one, though if i had to pick only won, the tiger assam would win first since it’s such a great smooth blend. This one has that same smoothness but there’s an added splash of bitterness in the cup that goes well with the tea but makes it just a little less delicious than the other. So glad i got the chance to try these since the 4.4oz is for sure a barrier when you’ve never had even a try. :)
Not enough rooibos blends in my cupboard, especially not since i received my box of awesomeness from Terri :) Thought i’d have a cup of this tonight to see if memory stacks up to the reality. While this is still a nice blend, there’s a bit too much oily residue on top of the cup of tea. It still tastes delicious but not nearly as wonderful as it once was.
SIPDOWN!
mmmm i was a little worried about this one because i accidentally let it steep for something like 8 minutes. I apparently had no reason to worry since this still tastes delicious and wonderful. I like the way that this tea is both berry like with a hint of smoke. I’m bumping the rating up a bit, though i wish the berry taste was just a little stronger. However, the base on this tea is great!
Had another cup of this today to try and figure out where i’m feeling with this one. I’m pretty sure I’m done with it, not that i don’t like it but there will always be other stacy teas that i’d rather have in my cupboard. This has a great apricot taste to it, but i don’t think i’m in love with the base. Still, happy to have had it a few times now. :) The rest goes into the tea box!
I feel like there may be a lot of teas in the near future that thank Terriharplady. So Terri, if i forget, don’t think i don’t love you any less for all your wonderful teas!
Sadly i fell asleep mid cup while drinking this one, so the last of is was a cold, cold cup of tea. What i do remember of this one hot, was that is was a beautiful, rich, smooth assam. Really no smoky going on here, just a sweet(in the way that black’s are sweet) cup of tea. I’m glad i made an unsual small cup of this one so i have more left to have a good normal Sil cup with later :)
Also…i’m in trouble because i really want more of this one for sure but 4.4oz is a lot of tea. a LOT. eep.
Had this one this afternoon to see if a green tea would help. I also figure i need to make it through some of my randoms from china, especially the green ones in relatively short order. I wish i had ANY sense of what this one was because it’s a lovely sweet cup of sunshine.
So I’m not feeling well today and stayed home to get some rest and sleep. My Tummys been queasy for the entire weekend so I haven’t even wanted much tea. However when my swap box with Terri showed up, I couldn’t resist!
My Internet isn’t working very well today BUT I needed to say that this is one hell of a beautiful smokey tea :)
thank you Scheherazade for this swap! I’m sad to say that we, for whatever reason, decided that rearranging our entire house again was something we wanted to do late into this evening. I blame the purchase of 5 new board games on that.
In any case, as a result i wasn’t able to focus on this tea as much as i wanted to. Overall, it came across as a pretty great cup of tea. Fruity with hints of smokiness from the assam. Luckily i have enough for at least another cup, maybe two, so that i can spend a bit more time focusing on the tea.
thank you raritea for this interesting tea. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one but i’m always up for trying new teas.
After having a few steeps of this, i’m still not sure how to describe this. It’s woodsy and not really like any green tea that i’ve had. The leaves look much like brown sticks :) There’s an after taste to the tea that’s vegetal and sort of gritty in my mouth. There’s a bit of dryness as well. Overall, really interesting and something i’m glad i got the chance to try!
Thank you to Teajo teas for this sample!
This one hurts my nose. There’s a floral and cinnamoney, spicey scent going on. I can’t entirely say with any accuracy that i’m smelling mango. In sipping this, i don’t taste mango whatsoever. I suspect that this might be a better cold brew than hot, but hot is how i tried it. I do really like the tea base for this one. But in terms of the flavouring, it’s just not what i was hoping for.
wow…not sure what to make of this one. there’s a lot going on in this one. I don’t think the jelly beans add much of anything to this. That being said, it’s a totally candy like blend that this creates. However, there’s quite a bit of hibiscus in this which turns it into a really sweet but terribly tart brew..sounds contradictory but it is. the initial sip is sweet and very nearly strawberry delicious but then it quickly goes tart in my mouth.
soooo this isn’t terrible for an oolong. Most of you know how much i “love” oolongs. It’s not an overly peachy tea as the oolong balances out the flavour. I’m pretty sure others who favour oolongs would find this to be a nice addition to their cupboards.
stupid sprinkles.
Yeah. that’s right. I DESPISE YOU SPRINKLES! I really can’t stand the sorts of additions to teas that add nothing to them. Tea is pretty enough on it’s on without adding crappy artificial sprinkles and stars and lucky charms into the mix. sigh
So this tea? Doesn’t really remind me of grapefruit at all. Now, for perspective, i love the grapefruit dragon that Stacy created. I have no doubt that somewhere out there, another grapefruit tea exists that isn’t a dragonwell base that might be almost as delicious as Stacy’s Dragonwell.
This tea? it’s not it. It’s got a weird limey orange smell to it that makes my nose wrinkle up in disgust, and the taste is this weird citrus like flavour that turns my stomach. I do not like, though maybe cold brewed it would be better? maybe?
So the nice thing about splitting try me packs 3 ways is that it’s pretty much enough for 2-3 normal people cups or 1 of my cups since that’s all i really want, and can then leave the “extra” for the other 2 people heh. So today, i’m trying to go through the last of the della terra teas we split three ways. I guess technically these are all sipdowns except they’re more like “haha i didn’t have to add this tea to my cupboard” :)
I suspect this tea would make a decent cold brew. Hot? It’s not too shabby. What i like most about it, is the lack of stupid candy, sprinkles or other assorted crap that della adds to their teas that drive me batty. I’m not getting much in the way of kiwi in this – it’s largely a mango, passionfruit tea. However, i think this would truly shine as a cold brew.
Not a fan of the flavours in this one. They kind of jumble together to create a melange of fruity sort of kind of going on thing. I does remind me, as miss lena mentioned, lychee but not the kind of lychee i enjoy in a tea. Overall glad to try this but happy it’s a split with 2 other people :)
SIPDOWN!
I still find this to be a rather unexciting black tea. There are far better black dragon pearls out there that i’ve tried, though these aren’t the worst.
190! Sip down!
Woot woot! Of course there will be teas added shortly increasing that back up again but at least now I feel like my cupboard is under control. Now to spend some time drinking up my larger bags of tea. May have to do a butiki week or marriage freres week lol
Still digging this one. Ill likely keep at least one of Della Terra’s rooibos blends in the cupboard permanently. :)
Sipdown! On our way out for board games and relaxing tonight and I packed up the last of this and my lime chiffon to complete my sip downs. Haha. Wish I could have brought more tea with me but my travel mugs will have to do.
This one is keeping me warm on the subway ride and making me dream of summer with fresh fruits and delicious sunshine…yes sunshine is delicious! :)
Sipdown!
The more I have this, the tastier it seems. I may pick some of this up again after all if only so that I’ve got if for when I have a hankering for that delicious creamyiness.
SIPDOWN!
IB – this is actually pretty tasty cold brewed, plus the coluor’s awfully pretty, a pale pink :) Totally running late for getting out of the house today so incoming tasting notes while we’re in transit but yeah. I still prefer this hot, but cold it’s a nice refreshing glass of tea as well. I like how the cilantro and mango come out a bit more in the cold.
