Popular Tasting Notes
I have never been a fan of peppermint teas, I’d only ever tried bagged ones before and didn’t enjoy them. I was having stomach issues though and picked up a tin of Organic Peppermint from Davids as I thought it was a healthier choice than drinking ginger ale all the time.
As noted, since I’d only drank bagged peppermints before, I can’t compare this one to other loose blends, but I do enjoy this tea, and find the scent is more pepperminty than the taste (which is good for me). I also still drink it occasionally, even though my stomach issues have passed.
I would probably re-purchase, but when I did buy it, the tin was filled practically to the brim so I won’t need to any time soon.
Preparation
I received this in a swap with EmilyGee and I have to say that it’s better than what I was expecting. I can make the connection to a snow cone, albeit, a very watered down one. The colour of the steeped tea is a nice, pretty, red colour. The flavour is a mild, candy-like, sour cherry with a splash of tartness. The mix of flavours could be a little stronger but I like it more than I thought I would. I had a preconceived notion that I was not going to like it because of so many luke warm reviews. Sometimes you just have to ignore what you read and make up your mind for yourself.
Flavors: Candy, Cherry, Sour, Tart
Wasn’t sure what to expect, since I’m not familiar with actually drinking lavender. This is quite interesting! I’ve gotten a bit tired with my usual evening teas and this is a nice change. I don’t mind the coconut as much as I thought, and that other taste is presumably the lavender. It’s almost slightly peppery, which I usually get with the lavender scented dish soap I use.
I’ll probably keep a bit of this in my stash for when mint choc rooibos/spearmint/sweet dreams gets tiresome.
Preparation
Hmm. I’m new to Puerh tea so I recently picked up a big sample box from Numi of all of their Puerh offerings. I guess since this one has no added flavors in the name, it’s the closest in the box to a straight-up cake of something exotic– in bag form.
I neglected to sniff the bag before steeping, but as it steeped it gave off an earthy scent, perhaps leathery, but something familiar I couldn’t put my finger on.
After the first sip I knew– It tastes and smells a LOT like an unlit cigar. A high-quality cigar, mind you, but a cigar nonetheless. Like the taste you get when the cigar end has been trimmed, it’s in your mouth and waiting to be lit. Not a flavor I ever find myself Jonesing for. That’s not to say this tea is terrible, just not my thing. I’ll finish the other two sample bags I have and then be done with it.
Preparation
I tried the loose leaf version of Twinings’ Earl Grey, and I can assert it is perfect for a morning tea.
The bergamot is a little too subtle for my taste but the tea is very fragrant nonetheless.
The leafs are small and not very high quality, but for the price, I would recommend!
Flavors: Bergamot, Earl Grey

I took a Chinese Breakfast: Certified Organic Yunnan Black Tea tea bag out of the assorted box that my boyfriend had. I love him to death because he lets me steal his tea.
I wasn’t sure if I had brewed it long enough because it brewed to this lovely golden topaz color instead of the deep brown I have been used to with my black teas. But I had brewed it for four minutes and I did remember that different teas brew up to different colors. This was the first time I had had this tea and it was good.
I drank it hot with nothing added.
It tasted light and fresh. It also tasted sweeter than the English Breakfast tea I have been drinking. I really liked that even though it was a black tea, it didn’t taste heavy like I was expecting it to. It was very, very nice and I really wish I had more.

My Mom picked me up a can of this from Whole Foods and I must say I am enjoying this a lot. Love the peach flavor. I was worried it would be a little overwhelming due to the strong peach scent from the dry leaf. But the brewed flavor is a good balance of peach. I like that this tastes just as good if not better iced. Definitely glad whole foods carried this because I am not sure if I would’ve ordered it from their online site since I normally don’t go for white teas. But now I would get it again for sure. Yum!
Preparation
A nicely balanced peppermint black tea. Can’t really taste the chocolate, however. It’s all black tea, peppermint and vanilla. I like it, but I’m not sure if it’s a peppermint black tea I’d want to regularly keep around the house yet.
I would check this tea, or one of its variations, if you’re looking for a more balanced peppermint black tea, though.
Preparation
I just received my tea sampler from Twinings in the mail, and of course I had to jump right in and start tasting. The smell of the citrus is very powerful while brewing. Anyone who isn’t a fan of orange would definitely not find that as appealing as I do.
The taste is definitely not as strong as the smell as others have already mentioned. It is a very mild citrus flavor and not much else. I like a strong cup of tea so this is not really my ideal match so I added a little agave to see if that helps it.
The agave did give the tea a little more depth and I think it is the best approach to making this tea. I still couldn’t pick out any honeybush but the aftertaste is mellower than the citrus so i assume that was the honeybush. Overall a decent tea but nothing I would buy personally.

Whoa there lime smell jumping out of the bag! Easy there! Down boy. Once steeped, the lime smell simmers down a bit and I can smell a gelatin scent coming through. I can taste the lime and the jello flavor, but I think this is going to need some sugar to not taste like super watered down jello. The aftertaste is the same that I’d expect with jello and it does taste better sweetened. It is a little unnerving that the gelatin taste is in there so perfectly, defying the laws of reality. I’m not a lime jello fan (pistachio pudding would have been more up my alley) and this isn’t one I’d feel compelled to buy again, but I’m quite impressed at how dead on the flavor of this tea is. It’s good, but it’s also just weird.
A few days after I had this tea I was at a party and tried lime jello salad for the first time and found it a pretty close match to the tea!
It’s smoky, but less like an actual campfire and more like an Islay scotch. The first few steeps are almost overwhelmingly bitter and smell of hay. On the third steep it becomes delicious, with a lingering smoky aftertaste.
Flavors: Bitter, Hay, Peat, Scotch, Smoke
Preparation
I was initially sold on the description: coconut tea? Sign me up! There was quite a strong overtone of cocoa/chocolate in the dry mix, but it was definitely more subtle when brewed. I didn’t find the coconut/vanilla very present once brewed and it was mostly cinnamon/chocolate overpowering it.
I know some people have commented that the flavour was weak, but I found it fairly strong and think this tea is perfectly suited for a cold, rainy night.
While not my favourite tea from David’s, it’s become a staple in my cupboard.
The initial smell is peachy and the taste is peachy but not as sweet as the smell. Pretty smooth. A little smoky from the oolong, I think. I think the white peach only comes out in the aftertaste – it seems sweeter/fruitier than the peach oolong on its own has when I’ve had it before. The sweeter white seems to balance the smokier, dark flavor and it’s all wrapped up in a peachy bow. All in all, a pretty good peach tea.

I really love this tea. I only recently tried it, and I don’t know why I didn’t try it sooner. It’s delicious. The ginger is very warming, and there’s a perfect balance between that, and the pear. Still trying to find the perfect steep time for it – but either way it’s good. I also enjoy this tea iced as well as hot. Overall, this is very yummy.
Flavors: Ginger, Pear
