Sample from Tea Sipper. Thank You!
This definitely lives up to the name! I’m tasting strawberry, pineapple, buttery coconut, and hibiscus. The fruit flavors are candy sweet, which is a nice contrast with the hibiscus, and the coconut is a tiny bit artificial, but overall it’s very good. It’s unusual to find a tea that manages to balance such a large number of flavors while keeping them distinct and complementary. Now that I’ve tasted more of DavidsTea’s selection I may decide to put in an order at some point.
Flavors: Butter, Candy, Coconut, Pineapple, Strawberry, Sweet, Tart
I thought I would try this as a drink for morning, because it has more caffeine. This mate is like a black tea in colour, but has the grassiness of a green tea. The first steeping of 3 minutes was really grassy, but that changed into a sweetness on the second steeping. It has a complexity and a warmth that I love.
Flavors: Grass

Got this as a sample with my recent online order. I like this tea. It reminds me a bit of berry infused lemonade. The berry flavor is the first thing I taste but the finish makes me think lemonade…tart yet juicy. I only got one sample so I can’t try it this time but I think this one would be great iced.
Flavors: Berry, Lemon
In my mind, I was thinking of this as pumpkin chai matcha. Now that I know it’s pumkin pie, it makes sense. On the one hand, I was expecting aggressive spices. Knowing that it is pie not chai explains the more subtle flavouring. It didn’t overpower the matcha either, but a little bit of spiciness lingered though. Colour was a matcha green.
The cup was made for me at the store. I had it with the usual matcha volume, as opposed to their tea cup size. Probably 5 of their matcha spoons.
I wonder how one sifts these, given that there is already sugar and spice.
Flavors: Green, Spices

Chocolate teas are tricky to get right. Banana teas are also tricky to get right. So, I wasn’t going into this with very high expectations. To my surprise, this is quite good. It has a light, chocolate-banana flavor. There is a bit of a creaminess to it as well, so I understand why they picked the name they did. The rooibos isn’t very noticeable at all, which is a positive thing for me, since I tend not to enjoy rooibos. I would be tempted to make this as a latte, but I imagine it would require a lot of leaf.
Flavors: Chocolate, Creamy, Sweet
Not one of my favourites, but I will drink it hot. I usually grab for this tea when I have a sore throat or cold. It basically tastes like a hot cup of gingerale, without the fizziness. shrugs I’ll likely finish my tin of this.
Flavors: Ginger

From Tea Sipper. Thank you!
This definitely has a strong flavor of ginger, but while it has a nice spicy kick and a bit of fruitiness, it seems a little lacking in flavor. It’s not as interesting as the plain dried ginger I recently bought. I’ll happily drink it, but won’t spend my money on more.
Flavors: Fruity, Ginger
This seems to be another one of those polarizing teas – people either love it or hate it. I really enjoyed it – just like I loved the similar Peanut Butter Cup from last autumn. This has coconut instead of chocolate but it has the same nuts-and-honey flavours with a hint of baked oats. If you haven’t tried it as a latté I really encourage you to (same goes for the Peanut Butter Cup).
Preparation
(The first part of this review is rambling about my day; the second part is the review itself. If you wish to skip directly to the review, it is clearly marked below.)
POOP ON MY ROOF:
I have (bagged) dog poop on my roof.
Let me explain.
After my dog did his morning business, I bagged it and tried to throw it toward the corner of the house where the trash can is. Except I don’t understand angles, and I underhanded the throw, and thud. A baggie of dog poop on my roof.
I texted this fact to my husband and he simply replied, “this is my life.”
TEA REVIEW:
People are SLAMMING this tea on here, but I like it. It’s basically black tea with coffee and cinnamon in it. I guess there’s an edge of sweet artificiality in the “cream flavoring.” I don’t mind that. However, as I always say, I AM A DIET COKE FIEND. (Which is different from a “coke fiend” or even a “Coke fiend.”) Bring in stuff derived from tar. I will put it in my face.
I found this tea a lovely way to celebrate National Coffee Day. Thanks to officemate K for the sample! (She’s probably not reading this. But if you are, K, I appreciate all that you do, and your cat is cute.)
In my new tea panic, and my resolution to drink more evening teas, I grabbed this out of the sample bowl.
And, obviously this has been in the sample bowl since last Christmas time, which is highly embarrassing. What took me so long? Especially since I love gingerbread, and just plain ol ginger.
But it turns out my trepidation was correct, because if someone had given this to me blind, and told me to list the ingredients, I would have said Rooibos, and maybe a touch of spice.
And that’s it. No gingerbread flavor to be found. None. I drank it without paying any attention to it, which I’m sure was not its intention, but here we are.
Ah well. Another one out of the sample bowl, and out of my cupboard.
I want to like chocolate tea but watery tasting chocolate just doesn’t do it for me. I thought maybe the spicy aspect of this would make me feel better about it, and it does, but still, not really at the top of my list. In the future, I think if I want a hot chocolatey drink, I will just have hot chocolate. Marking this a 55 because it is better than other chocolate tea I have tried. Also, I think it’s my taste preference here, not the quality tea. I do think it could be spicier though.
Flavors: Chocolate
I have realized that you cannot measure Davidstea mixes with the huge pieces of fruits or spices like you would tea. Instead I try to make sure I have a good mixture of the different components, by eye.
The first steeping was 5 minutes and had a wonderful spiced flavor, the apple was the third flavor. But it was very tasty. The second steeping retained the spices flavor but the apple and fig became much weaker. I think that both steepings are recommended.
Flavors: Anise, Apple, Cardamom, Fig
