102 Tasting Notes
Bought this at the Moncton store while the gf and I were heading back from our trp to Halifax earlier this week. I told the SA that I was looking to try more of DT’s white teas and this was one of the three she pulled down from the shelf.
I wasn’t sure how much I would like this since it smelled so sweet and I’ve been looking for more vegetal teas lately. This turned it to be a delight. It has a delicious caramel flavour to it and I really wish it wasn’t so expensive or I’d add it to my permanent collection.
I’m at a friend’s place in Boston (just got back from Fenway where I saw Jay Z and Justin Timberlake woooo!) and I found this while rummaging around in her tea collection. I had this iced with a bit of sugar and it was so delicious! I don’t know if I just miraculously ended making “the perfect brew” of this, but it wasn’t bitter at all (even before I added the sugar). I’m sad because it’ll be awhile before I’ll ever be able to try this again but I’m glad I got the opportunity!
I love doing photo shoots in the summer, but I hate editing in the summer (because I just want to be running around outside!). I did a shoot last month and I’m only now getting around to editing them. A few pots of this tea are getting me through quite nicely. The first pot (steeped for 4 mins) was really nice. The jasmine was present but the green tea was stronger. The second pot (steeped for 5ish mins) is the opposite. The jasmine feels heavy on my tongue but it’s nice and calming.
It is July and I still have unopened teas from my DavisTea’s Christmas sampler box in case you were wondering what total procrastination looks like. I decided to finally try this as I’ve had far too much pop and junk food in the past few days. I like this one because I can just taste how good it is for me, as weird as that sounds. I can barely taste the rooibos which is great because I’m not the biggest fan of it. I can’t see myself buying this but I’ll enjoy the little bit of the sample I have left!
I’m not the biggest iced tea fan but I decided to give DT’s new flavours a try. I cold-brewed this as my biggest problem with iced teas is that they taste too watered down for me. I love cold-brewing since it keeps the flavours. As expected, the mint is most dominant in this but the tea still has a fruity, creamy taste.
So, Adagio’s shipping prices to Canada are ridiculous. I’ve ordered once and felt appropriately guilty after the experience. Not gonna lie, they’re great teas but they forgot to include the one tea that I was really looking forward too (and spent the most money on) and refused to send it to me when I emailed them about it. All they could do was add it on my account so it would go out with my next order (which will probably never because of the damn shipping cost). Hint: if your shipping prices are so ludicrous that they interfere with your customer service skills as a company, maybe look into it.
Anyway, I saw this at Whole Foods when I was in New York (sadly they only had this tea and vanilla rooibos) and thought it would be pretty good for an iced tea. Since then I’ve been cold brewing it and taking it to work. It’s pretty tasty! I add a teensy bit of agave to kill the slight bitterness from hibiscus, but it really isn’t even that harsh. I almost didn’t get this because I was still a little bitter from my last Adagio experience, but I’m glad I did!
