This is pretty decent. I feel like all of the elements are well balanced here; people who like their flavoured teas to still taste like tea may like this. The black base is nice, and the chocolate and strawberry are equally present, I’d say (which contradicts the next sentence, but I think I’m just better at picking up chocolate than fruit notes). I get more chocolate and only the suggestion of strawberry (there’s a tartness that lingers in your mouth, and upon first sipping it you get some berry flavour).
So yes, it’s good. A perfectly decent tea and very well executed, but not mindblowing for me. Of course, I don’t think chocolate covered strawberries are anything to write home about either, so your mileage may vary.

OMGsrsly

After smelling this, I didn’t actually want to try it. But since I had opened the package, I thought I should give it a go. I’m pleasantly surprised! Smelling it is just a whomp of chocolate flavouring, which really isn’t my favourite thing. The tea leaves in my bag are all stuck to the strawberry pieces, so I’m guessing the strawberries weren’t as dry as they might have been before they were incorporated into the tea.

Again, it’s a light black tea background with a lot of other flavour. The chocolate tastes like chocolate coating, and the berry flavour comes out when steeped. I think I’d like this better if there was more strawberry and less chocolate. I’m kinda sad that I ended up with a 2oz bag of this one, but I’ll give some to a friend and pack up some samples to bring to the swap that’s happening next weekend.

tl;dr: It’s a good tea, but the chocolate flavour isn’t my favourite. More strawberry! Less chocolate!

Studyyyyyyyy timeeeeeeeeeee!
Since stats aren’t fun, I’m having this to help make it better. Chocolate covered strawberry just sounds like a winner right now.

Dry tea smells chocolatey, with a fruity, berryish smell. Can’t really tell it’s strawberry, although the strawberry emerged right after I poured water over the leaves. Smells yummy!
I’m getting a lot of strawberry from this, the chocolate however is mostly smells.
This tea totally changed my mind about teas with strawberries. I used to hate them so much (although I can’t remember why), but with this tea, the strawberries aren’t overpoweringly sweet or tart, but a combination in between. Which is great!

This is my first Della Terra tea, and I’m looking forward to trying some of their other flavors :)

I made this up this morning for a nice caffeine boost during my classes. I’m mostly just logging that I drank this, as I was paying more attention to my notes on resistors and capacitors than the taste. However, I do remember that it was sweet, and a little tart and juicy. I can’t say much about it, but I do know it was good.

3 more rows left on the crazy shawl, however each row takes at least 40 minutes. The edging is supposed to take over 5 hours! GAHHH! It will be done in time, but it’ll be a horrible weekend. I’m going to break it up repainting tea tins and folding paper flowers.

DRY: Smells of chocolate and candied strawberries!

STEEPED: Chocolatey and sweet strawberry smell – Dark brown tea.

TASTE: Black tea base and chocolately upfront. Then a sweet strawberry tang taste pops out. I’d say this is pretty chocolately. Sweetened, it’s a bit creamy and brings out the strawberry more.

COMMENTS: slightly reminds me of DavidsTea’s Love Tea #7, without the floral. However, CCS black tea base is gentler with stronger chocolate.
Tasty, and I think others would love this tea, but not for me as it needs a bit more going on.

hmm, I gave this tea a 70 before, but for this morning I steeped it for 3 minutes instead of 2.5 minutes and used a bit more leaf. The flavor is much stronger candied strawberry up front, with melty chocolate taste after and bold black tea. The tea isn’t bitter.
Way better cup that my first cup!

Mmm tasty. I should have tasted this one yesterday on Valentine’s day! It would have been perfect!

Thank you again to T.C. for this sample! The flavors are pretty balanced between the chocolate and strawberry. That said, this one was just alright. I think if it had a more pronounced chocolate flavor, I would have enjoyed this more. It was nice to try, but I don’t think I’ll be buying this one.

Last of the teas from the chocolate try me pack.. Well, I guess there is one more, but I can’t drink it because of the peppermint. Gave it to my fiance who took it iced to work, so maybe I’ll have him review that one later.

Anyway, back to THIS tea. I taste the chocolate and the strawberry flavors ALMOST equally. To me the strawberry comes through a little bit stronger than the chocolate. There is a nice tartness to the strawberry flavor. But I wish both of these flavors were stronger.. especially the chocolate.

With great dread I dipped back into my Della Terra order. This order was supposed to expose me to a lot of flavored blacks with the hope of finding something I liked. Thus far it’s been a failure sadly.

Smell? Chocolate and strawberries! It’s smells GOOD! I sorta want to lick the packaging…

Taste? sigh disappointment for this non-black tea guy. The black base still ruins the enjoyment for me. This is not DT’s fault…it’s a “me” thing. I’m finding I just don’t enjoy any black teas or blends. Also the strawberry is extremely strong in my cup. I love strawberry but this might even be too much.

Smelling this dry, I get the chocolate and the strawberry, which smell very nice, but not much of the tea base. The wet leaves have a stronger smell of black tea as well as the chocolate and strawberry being a bit more subtle, but they aren’t mixing well in the smell, if that makes any sense.

Drinking this, I can taste the strawberry strongly upfront but not really any chocolate at all. It definitely tastes good, but more as a strawberry tea than a chocolate covered strawberry tea. I can taste the black base alright, not too strong, not too weak, definitely not bitter or astringent. I did add sweetener.

Overall a nice tea but I’m looking for more of a chocolate flavour than this. The rest of my sample is going in the swap pile.

I had such a fun time waking up with this today! I have steered away from Teavana’s My Morning Mate for some black teas since I have so many to try and this was SUCH a treat! It’s fruitier than I expected, which I love, sometimes with chocolate/fruit teas the fruit is almost non existent, the flavors feel drying, or the fruit tastes artificial. This tasted so spot on like a chocolate strawberry and I even underbrewed it. I’m in love with this tea and it is true to it’s name, no guessing flavors here, you’ll know as soon as you sip that you are drinking (a basically calorie free!) chocolate covered strawberry.

Last cup of this baby, so it’s out of my cupboard now. I won’t reorder it yet but if I get a craving for it I’ll do it.

I had this baby this morning on my way into work and ooooh it’s so yummy! I love that the strawberry really stands out in it, the chocolate is just enough that you taste it’s there but is isn’t dominant. Tasty treat!!

This tea was good, but I wasn’t blown away by it. When I drank it straight, I couldn’t really taste the strawberry. I found the tea quite sweet on its own, but I needed to add sugar to bring out the strawberry taste. That made the tea almost too sweet for me. I will drink this again, but I’m a little disappointed compared to DT’s Classic Apple Pie.
